@davieg think the spin class may be too much atm in terms of my hips and knee. I do appreciate what you are saying about time off the bike as i am sure my cycling has a lot to do with it. However atm i am struggling with walking more than gentle cycling.

For example i can ride my commute without too much bother, a bit niggly but bearable but if i drive to work and have to walk to the office from where i park (probably less than 1km) i struggle, it aggravates the pain and it takes a while to settle down again.

Swimming might be ok but it’s a a bit of a faff with my silly curly hair and contact lenses.

Have a physiotherapy appointment on Saturday so hopefully i will get some exercises to address the imbalance (and then maybe learn to get a better walk:cycle ratio) 🙂

Needs a woman? Not sure that would work if he makes this fuss over lunch imagine how he’d reactnto spending money on something really important – like shoes 😀

Our ‘team’ (of two) has to source our own training as our role is a little random – and we got a bit of a frosty response when the training we found took most of our office’s budget . . . . Felt a little bad but am now keeping my head down as the train tickets to get there have come in at £550!!!

I will be getting two nights in Brighton though, so im sure I’ll cope 😀

You have been offensive since you joined CR, to our country, the west, the hungarians, caucasian women (tubby – that woman seriously?!), our food, and apparently we are all sad liars . . .the list goes on.

We have some delightfully grumpy types on here and some who are always good for an argument, but they all have their good points too. However you really don’t have a nice word for anyone and if you raised your issue with you’re fellow countrymen I am sure all they would feel would be embarassment.

I thought it would be easier to use my cx rather than my 29er – wasnt sure how flexible they are with wheel sizes.

I have no problem with cyling in even the foulest of weather, but as I said before I am having problems with my hip so just want to do some relatively easy miles to keep my fitness ticking over whilst I wait for physio etc

Well it will have to be in my kitchen as it is the coolest place – unless I go outside on the patio (is going nowhere outside better than going nowhere inside?)

And another bonus is that no babysitter will be necessary, will be a nice change

I am having a bit of trouble with my hip and knee, currently waiting for physio but just want to step doen what I do without stopping. The only time they hurt is when I climb and try as I might I have struggled to find flat routes around sheffield. So whilst I appreciate it will be boring I think its the best option to retain some fitness beyond my normal commute.

    Thanks for the info

3 bed house that had meters when we moved in – spent ages trying to weight up whether paying to have them removed was a good idea. Then realised it was great for showing my teenagers how much electricity and gas they wasted. So the meters stayed, they kids learnt to embrace jumpers and using less energy

Gas and electric rarely goes over £80 a month in the depths of winter and in the summer it’s far less.

Wouldn’t go back to direct debit here either

I think he talks a lot of sense, its a shame that whilst its good to see more cyclists on the road some of their behaviour is just cringeworthy.

JY to do the proper medusa effect it has to be dried upside-down – tricky whilst driving 🙂 (you may find it hard to believe but i do actually try and look like a girl at times 😀 )

ha ha – i wish, well what i mean is i wish there were a chance of meeting someone i would consider doing that kind of thing with – but alas it will mainly be my nearest and dearest friends two of which are celebrating their housewarming and have combined that with another’s birthday.

I haven’t heard of any new random single men who are going – and if there are i suspect they may be gay (as are the two who have bought the house)

no junkyard the hardest bit i can see atm is having to put my headupside-down to dry my medusa-esq mop effectively – will put the kettle on on see if a coffee helps 🙂

But at least they gave you the opportunity to vent your feeling CG. I was particularly grumpy one morning after dealing with an upset 10 year old as his dad had let him down over something. It was obviously winding me up as I had a really explosive case of cyclists tourettes at a bloke who stepped of the pavement in front of me.

I came round a bend in the ring road at a fair pace and he just stepped out so I shouted wooah – quite loud. To which I got some snotty come back – this triggered a come back from me that included far too much swearing (event the c word) – really wasn’t necessary and definitely not language I would normally use

Felt better for it afterwards though 😀

Id consider how small it needs to pack down to, how likely it is to get damp, how tall your daughter is etc
And how often will she use it.

There are junior bags that will do the job, but if shes over 10 id look for an adult or small adult bag (they do short bags in decathlon).

And there a lots of cheap bulky 3 season bags that will do the job, if she doesnt have to carry it far.

i have pretty much given up doing big shopping trips as i try and cycle everywhere as much as possible. luckily lidl is between my boys school and our house so i just pop in there on the way home.

We don’t eat a great deal of meat which also keeps the cost down so for the 4 of us it works out around £80 a week . . . .but i have to say my eldest son works in a Tapas bar in town and i know from my food bills he is getting plenty of leftovers from work! He is 20 and at the age where he can eat for England – just glad he’s sourcing some of it elsewhere!

Edit – i will always swing by the ‘big’ Tescos when I’m in the car to get certain things their Daisy washing powder being one of them best value by a long shot and does a good job

happy to be ugly to you Shib – unfortunately all you need on pof is a pulse an a pic to show you aren’t actually a pig-in-a-wig and you really do get bombarded, but others have said the same too so you don’t have to take my word for it 🙂
