Talking to my buddy who lives in Morzine today and he was telling me that Super Morzine / Zore has closed since the weekend !!! The locals are miffed and chalet owners are slightly annoyed by all accounts !

I ordered a set of Glowworm XS lights from “Pushys Australia” a few weeks ago, the exchange rate is really good at the moment.

They arrived within 6 days – FROM AUSTRALIA and are awesome lights, can’t believe how well made they are etc…

…. there was however a little issue with the handlebar mount – so I popped a email off to Glowworm HQ, asking for a new screw – to my surprise they contacted the new UK distributor ISON, who sent a whole new mount out to me.

FIRST CLASS LIGHTS & FIRST CLASS SERVICE FROM ISON.

Good plan, only issue would be getting a decent solid hot tub there … Filling it, and warming it up.

Great suggestion though, one I’d not though of.

Try these guys…. W have a similar issue ( we want bifolds) and I stumbled across their site earlier.

    No experience of them though.

Anyone got any news on the guy that came off on the decent after the first cafe stop?

He was sitting at the top of the trail when we got there with a Whyte rider (looked geared up, maybe a sponsored guy, Pete ????)

He’d gob over the bars on a steep 90′ entry to a decent and went over the bars, lending hard on his ribs on a stake. Ouch.

We stopped with them for 5 to make sure the event crew knew about the fall, His buddies had it in hand with the marshals and emergency response teams, so we left them to it.

    Get well soon fella.

So having read all of the posts above I thought I’d have a say.

The emails (through eventbrite) were great in the lead up, even the change in start…. Things happen and we were told in advance and through our registered email- So I’m happy there.

    The weather…. It’s Wales !

The route…. Geez I’m not sure how they managed to get so much UP in the route ….. But it was all part of it. I’m a bit odd and LOVE climbs… IT WAS ACE!

The signage was pretty crap though, and could have been better (more marshals maybe ?) different colour arrows for lap 2route”

The “MUDDY technical descents” …. Well, they would have been tough, maybe only walkable in the dry for “normal trail centre bods”, but it’s called the TECHIE DEVIL! SOOOO steep! Scary at times.
In the wet they where SILLY ! But that only added to the fun of slip sliding and crashing down them- LOVED IT!
I “tried” to ride as much as possible, but some of it was impossible to ride being as wet as it was (clogging up wheels to the point where they stopped turning, even on a 50′ slope!!!!)
The rocky techie descents and the forested out descents where AMAZING ! Loved them, even the big water holes on the second half!

The cafe stop… I think she was overwhelmed with the sudden rush of business, and really struggled to get food out. Bless her. Cheap Monster though lol !

    The timings – errrr rubbish

The “food at the finish” wasn’t clear if it was included in the entry fee or if it was buy your own if you want it… So I didn’t bother to find out.

The finish…. Slightly underwhelming (Neil & mini Neil sitting on a quad at the side of the road)

Apart from root signage the ONLY negative I took away from it was that I got sent on a revised route back to the finish by the last Marshall (i presumed due to a weather, or accident route change) meaning I did the last 5ish miles on the road! When I found out it was wrong, I rode from the town to the finish ~1mile up hill to “cross the line” and get ranked as such.

….. When I got there Neil said as I’d not gone the “incorrect way” to the finish I would be classed as a DNF! Not good in my eyes as I’d done as instructed by a Marshall, so I went home happy but with a bitter memory. DNF Memory.

A quick email to Neil & the team, with my Strava log attached and I was reinstated as a “finisher” (survivor! Lol) in the spectacular time of 8ish hours!!!!!

Would I do it again !

    HE’LL YEAH !!! 😀

My Kids have been hitting ‘Degla since 5 and they love it…. there 8 & 9 now, and my 9 year old is boardering on being able to out ride me at times… as for the big up hill drag at the start – I used to use a bit of old webbing and pull the slowest one up 🙂 NOW though, they fly up it !

Yeah removal of the bumper beam is standard, and I’ve accepted that I’m going to have to cut the glossy grey “diffuser” to fit the tow bar, but I wanted the smallest cut out possible.

I’ve found another supplier that can fit a minimally protruding mounting for the swan neck…. However again he’s unable to show me how big the hole will be!

….Looks like I’m gonna have to ask them not to fit the “diffuser” bit back on and move the electric socket to a more discreet location myself.

    Thanks Guys

Thanks guys. Really appreciate your time to take & post the pics. 😀

My car has the rear bumper shown in Iodious’s pic…

What you have on “display” was what I was trying to avoid, I.e a big hole cut into my bumper valence.

I guess my search will continue for the illusion hidden kit…. (Moon on a stick! Lol)

    Thanks guys.

Any chance of a couple of pics (rear low down, side on etc) of your “install” Lodious & Wobbliscott , and anymore info on where you got it from / make of the tow bar.

    FWIW:
I’m just really picky about my car and don’t want to ruin its “look” with a fugly chunk of metal sticking out from under it. Lol

    Thanks in advance

I have been taking my little boys around reds at Cannock, Llandegla & parts of Coedy for the past 2 years… They love it, and so do I.

I find that most riders we meet think its uber cool that such little kids are riding reds on 20″ wheel bikes, and do respect them, and give them some space. I find the best thing to do is to be their “rear guard” and when appropriate (not all of the time though… Little Uns get “flow” too) tell the kids to pull over and let any riders pass.
…. My oldest is a bi of a hill climb demon though and regularly overtakes adults on “Cardiac Hill @ Cannock” which never ceases to make me crack up, a I’ve thought him to say “alright mate” as he passes them !

Just use your head and keep your little un safe, you’ll both have a blast.

Putting my 8 year old to bed earlier, and leaving the curtains open whilst I lay next to him with his head on my chest, talking about the moon that we where watching together… until he fell asleep. Relaxing bliss and it won’t be like that forever, he’ll grow up one day.

Call them, email pic’s be cheeky and ask for what you think is reasonable compensation, if your happy to live with the flaws… The worst they can say in NO.
Failing that, just ask for a replacement.

I had pretty much exactly this with my Fatty at Christmas time…. Problem seems to be the bike boxes are too big, and the bikes not wrapped in anything remotely protective (well that’s how my bike arrived)

I complained to on one, who where absolutely fantastic, and offered to replace the bike, only problem was I was 23rd dec and the bike was a present…. So they asked me if I’d drive to them to do the swap, and as a sorry they would give me some goodies, and free carbon forks … Can’t say fairer than that.

I’m now the proud owner of a carbon forked equipped fatty 😀

Love the elbow pads as knee pads idea.

Helmets…. I’m thinking that a kids moto x helmet will be too heavy ?

I want o buy these for them(and me lol) But there expensive to use once
    >braces for comment along the lines of ” you can’t put a price on safety” <

    Love these

We use it on our cars at work, Jaguar Landrover . It very hard to photoshop off a panel / surface too 😉 and hides ll the “form” below it. And in reflective form its AMAZING when a pic is taken with a flash !!! 😉

    Spot the range rover

    Spot the jaguar

The “dazzle” cameo from the ships was actually to prevent a U boat captain / attacker from being able to make out what bit is the front of the bow, what is the side, a gun etc…. As the pic above shows it does work.

…. It might also look good on fat bike rims, and the top of Urge Enduromatic Helmets ! Lol

Make sure you have run them in first… To bed the spikes into the treads.

I run my ice spiker tyres pretty hard TBH on my rigid hard till winter bike. 20+ psi

The grip on sheet ice is literally amazing …. Once you pluck up the bottle o experiment a bit.

My Mrs is the exact same, she isnt interested, despite us having 2 little boys (7 &8) that are really good at MTB’ing and love riding reds with me at Llandegla, Coed y & Cannock.

I would love for her to come along and ride with us – on her terms, and on Blue’s – you know, as a family.

I’ve given her one of my Old bikes, and fitted it out with all new kit – so its as good as new now. She’s even had a bike fitting to make it “Lady Friendly” in the saddle area, as that was sited as the biggest reason NOT to join us. THE BIKE FIT (and new saddle) MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE TO HER “WANTING TO RIDE” – I’d recommend it.

My latest plan was to get her a comfy fat bike to ride… due to the weather she’s only ridden it around the park, but seems to like it – fingers crossed.

Had that in my hands today and it’s bloody light, the rims are Halo and the hubs are industry nine, neither are likely be on the production bikes, certainly not the I9’s any road.

So when’s it gonna go on sale ?

I’ve got a Smax. But it was a close call between it and a new galaxy.

This CAD pic from a guy at work sealed the deal for me

If you REALLY need 7 permanent seats = galaxy / sharan

If you need 7 seats occasionally = smax – looks better than any other MPV (but I am a owner so may be biased)
