With gears. They will be on it till they are about 8 and if you want to take them on proper rides they will need them.

As long as you get one of the brands you mention who are sensible and make light bikes with 1* set ups you’ll be good.

any available in XS would be useful too 🙂

Write in and try. I wrote in with a screen shot of their website stating “join and vote in the leadership election” but I was on DD so just cancelled it.

    Disgustingly misleading.

lol @ the thought of this:

No, the £25 is just so rich people can vote for Jeremy. No other membership privileges.

I understand the benefit of a T5 (other small vans available) for quick trips down the road with the bikes. Being able to store the bikes inside on camping / road trips would be great but sleeping in the van with a family doesn’t really compute so the difference over a car combined with having to drive a van as a main car is making them look less and less appealing.

I’ve been on the fence for ages but recently started looking at proper motorhomes. With a few kids, a fondness for foreign MTB road trips, skiing and enjoying travelling round to different locations a proper motorhome seems to be the way to go for me.

Reckon I’ll be taking a trial hire trip in the near future.

Anyone have any experience of older motorhomes? I’ve seen some knocking about for 15 – 20K… with 50 – 70K miles which on a decent diesel van is obviously not a lot but do you get a lot more from newer vans for your money?

Also OP & others… little 3 year olds GROW. Quickly! 🙂

The one I am thinking of is the one with 2 lines. High line – rollable. Low line – Big gaps. Do you know the one?

Fork right up that way has a couple of nice little roly doubles you can practice on if that’s what you fancy as does the run on Winterfold… can’t remember the name – maybe Northern Monkey.

Yeah – we had to do that with the house too. Life was so busy though that it took us till the kids were 7 🙂

It seemed that whenever we would get the house trimmed down and not looking cramped with 4 people’s stuff another double birthday, Christmas or holiday would come up and we’d be back to square one!

    All worth it though!

Around 150cm you’ll be transitioning to xs adult bikes but this is somewhere between 10 & 12 so difficult to answer really qwerty.

Otherwise 24″ wheel kid bikes avail in everything from budget HT to FS trail or DH rigs.

What do you want it for tho?

I’m thinking of buying a 650 frame and building it up with my old 26er bits for the kids next bike. That kind of thing?

£50 wow. Thanks. I would have thought that this would be helpful in making a case against people for intending to cause ABH to riders.

We have twins coming up to 8, I’m not sure which people told you it was easier LOL…

    lol.

Feed them both at the same time. Hopefully they will sleep in sync too.

    Good luck with that one!

We have twin boys. Just celebrated their 10th birthday with a day’s uplift in Les Gets (they did the same for their 9th mind you). We also have a younger one so it can’t have been that bad 🙂

    > Take all the help you are offered.
    > Enjoy the ride! (It’s like a roller-coaster. Exciting, fun, unpredictable and scary)
    > You will never be ready.
    > Pretty much forget everything else for the first year or so.
    > They will probably come at least a month early
    > Buy shares in things called “wet wipes”. You will now have them in every room in your house for the foreseeable future
    > It will be more work even in the pregnancy for your OH. Her body has to do twice the work it does with a single pregnancy so your support will be crucial.
    > Enjoy a clean toilet that is regularly flushed while you can.
    > +ve? twins mean that there is always one there for you.
    > -ve? twins mean that there is ALWAYS one there for you 🙂

    good luck & Congratulations!!

Don’t buy the Exodus rack from halfords. the straps to put the backs on are ill-thought out (likely to cut your hands), awkward to get to and take ages to use.

Always had good experiences with Thule bit never used their boot racks.

Have you heard of baby led weaning? Our youngest wasn’t interested in food for a while either… similar age I think but it was a while ago. I think we just gave him bits of food to play with: shepherds pie, soft carrot slices… he was so lazy he wouldn’t use a spoon and just ate it with his fingers… hasn’t help him back though. He has a great appetite now though (at 7) and eats and tries everything.

    Good luck!

Yeah – ours took forever when I bought it at Christmas. I was glad I started downloading the games a week before.

The thing that really annoys me is because we don’t use it that often it seems to need updating every time we want to play so the choice is don’t play or play offline.

Wouldn’t have happened with Atari! 😉

Every big international game I’ve watched, there wasn’t a single scrum where the ball was fed straight

The law now appears to be “as long as the ball goes into the tunnel it’s ok” – ie. not straight to the hooker’s foot. In youth rugby I make em do it straight down the middle.

    same for int’l lineouts.

I’ve had plenty of punctures on that cycle lane. It’s a lot worse in the winter with all the crap off the road and overhanging trees dropping on the cycle lane. I usually go up over whitedown to avoid it if I have to be on the road. I never use the s-bound one as the n-bound is bi-directional anyway.

I could also understand why people would use the road with the cycle lane having to stop to give way to every road joining on to the main road FFS. I’d like to see them try this with the main road.

For me though, this A-road is nuts and I tend to stick to the back roads wherever possible anyway, much more pleasant and not difficult to find quiet roads.

The photo sharing on apple is quite fun. We got the kids ipods recently and it’s like having our own private FB group with them posting their pics and comments.

Obvs the first 150 will take a bot of time.

Think there are other services too flickr etc.

Why English rugby union players and ex-player-commentators (for generation after generation) are so self-aggrandising, condescending, insulting and up their own a***holes then act surprised when everyone supports ‘the other team’ and laughs when they lose… but maybe that’s just me.

and all of cricket and dancing horses.

Have a great ride guys. I’m back home now and missing it already.

Stoner – thanks for the tip. I took the family up Col de Graydon. Lovely walk… bit faster on the way down 😉

Enjoy the ride guys, I like the ‘red’ perspective in Chatel with road gaps and massive hucks etc… they look lovely as you take the chicken line and ride meekly past.

    Till next time.

Oh yeah good question on the helmet.. I usually just go with the FF over here but if we are doing a good amount of pedalling I’ll dress UK non-uplift style.

I have soft pads so will have them anyway… bikes all sound pretty similar 🙂

Sunday 9:30 by the chavannes sounds great. See you there Boyos. I’ll be on a bright green cube stereo, with bright green forks. I will mostly be wearing bike clothes and an Urge veggie lid and a red camelback.

    Good luck with the van!
