wwaswas : What espresso machine is that?, I was hoping to find a sage dual boiler for a sensible price but the best deal I can anywhere is still £200 over budget,

Nice machine. We have one. My life would not be the same without it. Had good customer service from them when we had a problem outside warranty too.

For the missus though so think she’ll appreciate the less bulky Boses (they’re for travelling with), the inline controls and likely the looks too……. hopefully

…don’t forget you can return the ones you bought if you don’t like them.

Not sure if already mentioned but Canyon have 10% off all bikes in their factory outlet
So for example thats under £3k for a 2016 Strive CF9.0 Race (the 2017 model is £4,499)

..and whats more after a 5 minute live chat conversation they are refunding me the 10% on the bike I bought off them last week. Thats customer service that needs recognising

…and don’t even go there on Canyon’s customer service!!!! I speak as one of the disgruntled many who tried to order in previous years and received a slightly different experience.

Why? The DeLonghi machines have an adjustable burr grinder already.

Control, choice, flexibility, taking it on holiday (sad but true). You generally get better quality buying separate IMHO.

Bit of a double resurrection here… but did anyone try the 29er Pikes with the boost frame.

The frame looks lush but it would be great to know how the 9’er forks work with the bike comparatively… just to know my transitional options 🙂

    Ta.

Don’t do it! Hold out for the separate grinder (someone had to say it)

Probably lots of cuts on your calves an shins to start with.

Feet bouncing of pedals through braking bump style territory (on a HT).

Having to think about weight and bike control a bit more but getting more out of it.

Not getting mashed up by your bike if you stack it.

Not being any slower up hills.

Not losing the ability to have a smooth pedal motion.

A transition period where it feels weird. Stick at it.

Hi – I do but I’m not signed up to an appropriate photo sharing site to include it in a thread. Sorry.

If it helps, they climb just fine on them and rip on the downs and have ridden it at South Downs / BPW / Les Gets / Surrey Hills etc.

We only really put them on because they were getting arm pump on the long descents. They love them now though.

There is a weight difference of course. I think the rigid forks were about 400g and the sus forks maybe 1600g (it’s been a while so couldn’t swear to the figures).

Hiya – yes we did that. No problems: up / down whatever. Kiddo loves the bike and it’s nearing its hand me down date. Decent forks for the money too.

    Enjoy.

    I think it’s ok.

My 10 yr olds play it a bit and the 7 yr old is nagging to have a go.

Did you find some negative reports?

    Weird – I find I need 1/2 larger in 5-10.

I used to do 25 / 30 miles each way 3 times a week. Did it 4 once just for fun in the summer but 2 or 3 worked best mixed in with other riding.

When I moved further away I did 60 miles each way twice a week but due to having to pace it for the distance, it was to the detriment of my fitness.

Yes – well worth it given that the excess can be 750 to 2K.

Remember to check for exclusions. Campervans for instance are not covered except by specific policies and even then they cover different things e.g. some don’t cover the roof, interior etc.

If you have Amex you get this for free on some cards too.

Self driving cars that look & perform like KIT not noddy’s car.

Magic milk that puts people (A-Team members & kids) to sleep for long journeys.

    A TARDIS.

    Matrix-style learning capability.

A bike that doesn’t let you fall off and hurt yourself but tells what you did wrong so you can try to get it right next time.

A gopro that makes you look as fast & rad as you feel.

I know 5 of the people on that first page, they are fit lads. Apparently I did once in a little under 4 minutes not sure what gear sorry 🙂

looking at when I did it, it would have been on a 26er Orange 5 1*10 if it helps.

just search indoor cycling on youtube. there are loads. You might want to overlay your own tunes though some are pretty dire.

+1 for Scooby legacy or outback depending on what ground clearance you need.

Drive like a car not a van / boat and have good permie 4wd.

Estate to car conversion is dead easy too.

Hi – it’s a personal thing. I have the 20″ 160 and I’m 5’11. One of my riding buddies has the 18″ and he is the same height. He says mine’s too big. I think his is too small 🙂

Maybe you are on the edge of the next size up. Can you try a bigger one?

If you can you might be able to pick up a frame only bargain and swap all your kit over.

    Good luck.

We got ours the Azatom one from amazon for 50 notes. The docking pin did snap off one but it has Bluetooth connectivity so he can listen to his music just not charge his ipod.

    The kids loved ’em.

We had the HOY 24″, it’s a 1*8. I fitted RST forks and decent tyres. Great for alps, bike parks, uk up and downs in the UK etc. Lack of disc brakes has been the only could-do-better for us too.

We are looking at the Ragley for their first 26er not that they are 10.

    Good luck.

Kids of 7 & 9 vears old here. We love the Morzine area. Lots of walks etc. Very scenic.

Weather not guaranteed so recommend space to occupy yourselves indoors in case of rain.

Thanks – will take a look. Rushmere Farm appears to be pretty close by too. It’s only for a couple of night. Bit of a test to see if we want to rent a motorhome for longer breaks.

Do you know if the car park has height restrictions? Could I get in there with a high van?

Might be a daft question but is it a ride or push up? Not sure which route we’ll be doing.

I’ll be heading there soon and wondering if on balance it’s better to carry the FFace up or wear a normal lid. I’ll have both with me but obvs don’t want the FF if there is worthwhile pedally bits.

IMHO Expensify is a good app for keeping on top of expenses. Lose the paper!

Go with an accountant where you can use a modern on-line cloud based a/c solution Xero / FreeAgent / Crunch etc.

Why not just hold off on one bike change, about 6 weeks?? And then go full custom!

    Haha – wot Andy_K says!!

“Spotify family” doesn’t have any filters on explicit content. This is despite over 6000 votes for the functionality in the forum. It is the most commented on feature request from their users by far and they are just ignoring it.

Apple Music does – it’s not perfect but at least it’s something and they are trying.

    Just FYI.

Oh re the breakable mechs – ours (Isla 20’s) are very well used and have we’ve had 2 go through 3 kids.

I think we might have replaced 1 mech in that time. I think it cost about 20 quid (if that). Really just the usual wear and tear though. changed the grip shift to thumb shift, cables, pads etc.

We went for Hoys for the 24s when they were 8. Same bike, loads cheaper, better colours and you could test ride them…. we did eventually put decent bouncy forks on when the kids were getting arm pump in the alps etc.

There’s a JDM spec B gtb on ebay right now with an alleged 30000 mile old engine and turbo in it, and a lot of paperwork… I don’t really want to spend £4000 on a car right now but damn.

if its any good – buy it! 😀

I’ve got the 2.5 2005 and get 30 mpg avg. Mostly A road and Motorway driving including when loaded.
