    @bedmaker

Long, not slack, 29er bikepacking and general knocking about bike. Slidey drops with inserts for Rohloff, SS or 142×12. Space for a huuuge framebag as well as barnacles on the HT and seatstays for racks in a Trek 1120 stylee.
Kinesis carbon fork ready to go on it, and it’s corrected for a 120 29er fork if I fancy.
Amy at Waltly kindly threw in a bundle of facemasks for me, very thoughtful!

Sounds good! Presumably it’s Ti – any pics yet?

I’ve just had the same issue. I couldn’t remove the play by tightening so I added a thick rubber washer before reinstalling – it removed most of the lateral play but it still shifted very poorly despite hours of fettling.

Never was a fan of SRAM, so ordered a new SLX shifter and rear mech for £70….faultless ride yesterday :-)

Ramin frame, rigid, SS, odd sized chubby wheels, graffiti splatter paint (under the mud)!

Genesis Tarn. You can find framesets on offer in various places. If you’re lucky you might pick up a 2018 frameset which included a carbon fork. If not, they sometimes come up on ebay or add a chinese carbon fork of your choosing.

Toseek on my wifes gravel bike – fine
Hylix on my old Arkose – fine (poss FS)
Factory direct (name escapes me) on my B+ hardtail – fine

All have been ridden on some fairly rough trails.

All good fun, banging pots and pans, hanging toast in trees, shouting yourself hoarse and some Mummers action….plus the hot cider!

Darn – I missed the offers…..but would quite like a frame.

Are there likely to be any further discounts Brant?!

Thanks for sharing, an enjoyable read and a ‘down to earth’ trip which I can relate to! Need to get back out for some overnighters…

I had a 12″ vinyl picture disc made up using a lovely shot from the wedding and cut with the four main songs from our day. The paper part was using sections of map in the frame with special locations – proposal, wedding, holidays etc.

Chinese carbon forks on my gravel and plus bikes – both have seen some decent offroad action and have been fine…

    I have some Fox Rhythm 34 FIT 29er 130mm boost forks, barely used which I ran 27.5 x 3.0 on a 45 internal rim.

Drop me a line if of interest…

Had a Swamp green Krampus – great bike.

Currently experimenting with a build based around a Pinnacle Ramin frame, chinese carbon forks and a 29+/B+ wheel combo. Light and fun but mainly intended for bikepacking duties – will be at the Moors 100 this weekend.

Loads of interesting leads above, thanks.

I’ve recently been listening to a bit of Lydian Collective, definitely at the more accessible end of the spectrum but quite a talented bunch.

I’m running the Prime disc wheels as above, ridiculous value including valves. Commuting on/off road at 50psi tubeless in cheap Vittoria Adventure Trails from PX.

I’ve got the £100-ish disc wheels on my Arkose. Very impressed with them for the price, no issues to date with some mild off road too.

Tubeless – so much nicer than dealing with punctures….

Or, keep a spare tube at the ready, swap out quickly and fix the puncture at lunchtime?

Stayed at Cae Du and Shell Island (massive!) – both are peaceful and have great locations.

We walked from Shell Island to Barmouth along the beach, did some SUP and caught the train back up the coast.

Another enjoyable commute on the fat bike today, the canal towpath was nice and quiet. If it all ices up it might get a bit more interesting!
