6.1’s are a miassive pain to get tyres on ime.
Ghetto tubeless is only gonna make this worse!

DT make a dedicated rim strip for it – try that?

I actually bought this on DVD a few months back based on the hype, but I thought it was horrendous. If anyone wants it I will pay you to take it!

Having looked at this weekend’s forecast, I would say take spikes, tear offs and every change of kit you own.
And either park facing downhill toward the exit, or get chummy with someone in a 4×4.

Schwalbe furious Fred 2.2 – big volume, very light, ludicrously fast rolling.

Car gear oil is the ticket, thickest you can get, which, as far as I can tell is Comma EP85W-140 GL-5

Congratulations – you’ve now turned your chain into a magnet for every bit of grit it sees, which will handily turn into grinding paste and wear away your transmission, in addition to clogging your jockey wheels/cassette/chainrings…

It generally takes about 3 months of drought for Delamere to dry up “a little” 😉
Also the DH sections there are really short unless you go on old pale, and at the weekend thats basically inviting hassle.

    You were misled.
Lots of the good bits have been trashed, while the remainder is like the somme.

You can’t have a Star Trek director directing Star Wars.

XT 10 speed chains are directional – is it the right way round?
How do your pulley wheels look?
    Is the mech/hanger straight?

EDIT – which cog does it jump in?

Mine ran for 3 seasons before the damping finally exploded.
Shame as it is really really light.
Tempted by the new carbon bodied RS to replace it.

    I didn’t say pedally sections

Then what was the point of your comment? 😛

@GW – which DH courses have 40+ mph pedally sections?

But that might just be cos I have a lot of keys…

I have few keys for that very reason. Can’t understand people who have massive agglomerations of metal weighing their trousers down.

I have a lot of doors I need to open…
As an aside I actually suffered from a broken car key earlier in the year – thankfully I still had my house keys on me and not in the car, so I could get inside my house and get my spare.
So now, all my keys come with me.

I clench them in my teeth.
Why would I have no camelbak if I’m planning on taking stuff with me?
Seat pack. Back pocket of my roadie/xc jersey. Gaffa taped to my top tube.
Anywhere but digging into my leg in a shorts pocket.

baggies are an image only thing

Where do you put your keys?

Camelbak regardless of if I’m in baggies or lycra.
Riding with keys in my pocket sounds v. uncomfortable.
But that might just be cos I have a lot of keys…

@jota180 – the mark up on outsourcing is never going to be as good as doing it instore – the relative costs there are training and stock holding.

I really really enjoyed it, as did the rest of my teammates.
Yes the mud was a slog, but surely that adds to the challenge – perhaps some of the mech breakers could use a little more mechanical sympathy 😛
I did complain to Pat that he took the new off camber section out too early after the thunder storm, as it wasn’t inflicted on 3 of my team, which I thought was most unfair!

Decade that do DMR/Kinesis/TRP etc aren’t the same as the ones that CRC own.

You’re thinking of Upgrade, not Decade.

    I’ve just gone from a Merida 96 to a Merid 0.Nine
Apart from being a good bit lighter (20lbs vs 22.5lbs) the hardatail doesnt particularly climb any faster, and its a bit slower going down.
It does accelerate like a motherhubbard though.
