My 5 creaked as well, but not when it was raining or wet. I've just got a new pair of wheels, and took the opportunity to convert the rear to a 10mm bolt through axle.

Just been out on my first proper ride with the new wheels, and have had no creaks at all so I am hoping it is cured.

When it was creaking I was thinking it was either the rear q/r, or the spokes on the wheel. Mine mainly creaked under load as well.

How about the rear Q/R moving slightly in the drop outs? Pouring water over the rear brake would quite likely get the rear q/r wet as well.

Thanks, I shall give it a go. Epicyclo, I assume you cut from the inside out, leaving the bit of metal on the outside edge?

It does say on the Wheelpro site that you get the spare tape and a bottle of sealant

    Wheelpro Website says:

    Install Stans tubeless kit

    £9 per wheel

Install Stans Yellow sealing tape, a Stans tubeless valve and a bottle of Stans sealing fluid. When ordering a pair of wheels you get the remainder of the unused yellow tape, enough to tape up a couple more wheels.

Just ordered a set of 355's from Roger :D, so looking forward to them arriving!

Can't you just paint the exposed bits? Get a cheap rattle can from Halfords, I'm guessing you are going to have to strip the rest of the paint of eventually any way?

I thought the Crest was the 355 replacement? Isn't it basically the 355 with smaller sidewalls as it is not v brake compatible?

I e-mailed Hope this Friday asking when they were chnging to the Crest/Alpine and they replied saying mid summer.

The valves, rim strip and a bottle of gunk comes to £32 on Chain Reaction, so the extra £27 from Wheelpro for fitting and posting more than pays for that.

Wheelpro site says they sell both the 355's and the Flow's now.

Thanks for the replies, my current rims aren't all that wide, I don't think, so think I might go for the 355's. I'm not sure if I'm a good enough rider to feel the difference between the SP and standard hubs, the main reason I was looking at the SP hubs was because I preferred the look of them!
Getting the SP wheels, including all the rim tape, valves and sealant from Winstanleys is about £25 more than Wheelpro, and Wheelpro wheels will come with the the rim strip and valves fitted, plus the sealant, axle swap, and a spoke tension check as well. Still wondering if this is a better idea than the Winstanleys deal. Decisions, decisions!!

I got these to go to my 2006 calipers from the £50 XT levers, if you need the banjo at the caliper end.

Also, if you go dual control, then they are best used with a rapid rise rear mech.

If you want dual control shifters, Chain Reaction are selling XT ones for £50, reduced from £200. Doesn't include the calipers or any brake hoses/fittings, but still a huge saving.

New style XT Dual control shifters for £50 a pair on CRC. Now that's cheap!
You either love them or hate them but they're ace with Jones bars.

Couldn't resist at that price, nice find! Not pretty, but they look nicer than my '06 levers.

Very nice, I really fancy building up a Blue Pig as well, to alongside my 5.

You could try the Where's the Path website, depending on what format you have them saved in.

Have a look at this thread, I have put a couple of links to the cable and connector that I have just got for mine, all works perfectly for around £16.
Another thing you might need, if you have oversize handlebars on your bike is one of these, the handlebar mount bit that comes in the packet with the replacement back for the eTrex is for standard bars only.

I've just got one of these and one of these, and it works perfectly!

I've a set of 3.5 year old Fox Floats that have never been serviced, still seem to be fine, although I am planning on servicing this year sometime!

Just ordered the 10mm Pro 2 conversion kit, is this easy to fit? Just been watching the servicing vid on the Hope website, and I don't have the drifts that they use, do you need these when changing the axle, or can you use something else?

Don't forget that you don't own the Virgin box, you only rent it from them, so when you cancel I would imagine they will want it back!

How old is old? I've got an an early/mid 90's P7, when they did the Nickel plated frames, and although I'm not sure of the steerer, I can measure the old rigid fork (F7?) from it for you later on tonight if you want?

Received mine today, and it looks great, way smaller than I was expecting. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to try it out on the bike, can't wait!!

Don't know about anyone else, but if it comes to it, I'm happy to pay a bit extra for the postage to use a courier rather than Royal Mail.

Huxley, what Lumicycle bag are you using? Is it the Li-ion Elite bag?

Trout/Smudge, in the full kit, does the battery come in a bag to hang on the bike frame, or will we need to get one?

Can't wait to get my Liberator, I couldn't care less if Trout has a 7 led light now! It's good to see that he is still tinkering and seeing what he can do. If it wasn't for this attitude from Trout and other homebrew light builders, then we wouldn't be getting the Liberator, so would be having to spend more money for less lumens.

A few years ago I owned this:

Broke down lots, so got this:

Had the Westie for 7 years now!

I might be interested as well, but can't afford it for a month or two.
