white is fine for me ..but still like the metallic grey from my MK1..

really liked the old graphics,so very interested to see the new ones..
the brushed alu decals from the bmx frames look very good..

and… sorry for OT !!…does anybody here have a spare “PA” decal to sell ..I´m just building up an older PA and still searching for the original “prince albert” decal on the TT..any help is appreciated..

have an 09 five and love it…and as northwind, I really like the bit of flex in the rear triangle..
the 2009 has the straight headtube, 27,2 seatpost together with the NEW geo !
for me the five is fine with 1 1/8 ..
I`m not a big fan of the tapered standard…for me its a marketing thing..
so..very good that orange decided to spec the new alpine 160 with the 1.5 standard.. :-)

I wasn`t a fan of circus wheels,…but now have a QH (and a SJ before)..
its brilliant ! pedally singletrack and pointing down is unbelievable fun..
for technical, steep, switchback trails I prefer 26 inch wheels.. but for fast flowy tracks the QH is a blast..

just sold my 2009 heckler…and got my new 2013 frame last week…
the change of the geo was from 2012 (69 HA) to 2013 (67.5) together with the tapered headtube and ISCG05 mounts..( + decals under clearcoat now and different TT shape..)
was very happy with my old one ..several times in the alps, was a bit steep with pikes but perfect with an old 150mm marzocchi Z1 FR1
now I´m looking forward to build up the new frame..

and..these ones are a good alternative to burgtec bushings..

stiffee is still a brilliant HT..
and as far as I know it was the first HT with a 66.5 HA….long time before the invention of the superslack-newschool-HTs..

mmhh…an old problem…on my blue pig MK1 it was the same, tried everything, brant recommended degreasing and carbon paste..or the spike seatpost with 27,3, but that was not possible because the seattube changed the diameter inside after a couple of inches from too big to the right diameter !!..so no lowering at all.. nothing helped ..no way !
later I went for a MK2..no problems even with a heavy greased seatpost…no slip..
same with mates bagger, greased seatpost.. no probs..

WD40 is just cleaned and perfumed petroleum, perfect for cleaning but evaporates quickly…and as I learned does not prevent rust..
sick grease for the seatpost..and some duct tape covering the slot under the seatclamp worked fine for me during the last years…

    it works vice versa….
new cotic Bfe is 419.- Euro in the UK incl.shipping..direct from cotic
and in germany 460.- Euro incl.shipping from the german distributor..

on the niclai site is stated “prices valid for germany only”..and as far as I know they won`t sell you a frame directly to the UK…

no crash…the upper plate which helds the saddle rails down broke..and the bending screws damaged the threads on the post…complete fail..

for exploring trails in more remote areas,
not for the uplift, more bikepark like stuff…

this turned out to be my list..

a well serviced bike and kit, done before leaving to the alps !
    generally 2ply tires

    in my bagpack,
    first aid kit
    pretzel head torch
    extra layer,beanie
    brakepads 2 sets..
    2 lightweight spare tubes
    necessary tools only
duct tape, cable ties, pump, chain link (sram or connex)
    IGN map..of course

    in my car
    rear mech!,cables,new chain,more brake pads,spare tyre tools,grease,
    and a spare seatpost,
strange i know, but a broken one spoiled once three days of riding, couldn`t get one with 30.0mm dia in the tarentaise valley..
