@steve77 to remove the bottle bosses you just need a countersink,
like in the pic, there is no machinery necessary..
the bosses are aly, so just countersink until they fall off–there is no damage on the frame..
and…also the newer chams, the 2013,26″ and the 2014, 27.5 have bottle bosses on the seattube in size l and xl..
    as you see here..

during the years I had two chameleons, really liked my second one with the excentric BB..
only downside for me were the bottle bosses on the L frame..
with long legs it was impossible to lower the seatpost enough for real techy, steep decents…
but finally found a solution for this :-)

    as brant said shimano..
    this should solve the problem..
    shimano sm-ax75 e-thru 12mm with QR
or the saint version….sm-ax 80 (two versions for 135×12 or 150×12)

same experience for me two years ago…
the charger of my magicshine melted and batteries went red hot,
it was just luck that it only burnt the floor..
the light itself is still fine until today..

had a lupine light before, an early one from 2001 (nightmare LiOn), halo no led and stupidly expensive but ..
had this unit in use for 11 years charging it two times per week during spring/winter/fall time..and constantly on the charger during the summer months…never had any problems, never thought about..
so meanwhile I think you get what you pay for according to chargers and batteries…but know of course that some forum members here see this different..

the u-turn springs are very rare since a while..
even in the second hand world …
was searching for a soft lyrik u-turn spring after converting my old lyrik from 160mm to 170mm with an spacer..and it took quite a while until I found a shop wich had one left…

as Stevet1 said for me ..
“live in the now, there is no future proof bike”
    the a-c length for 26″ 160 pikes are 542mm, for the 27.5 version its 552mm..so just 10mm
but I wanted 160mm pikes for my BFe
the Bfe rides still on 26″ (what was for me the reason to buy it..)so I bought 26″ pikes..

I had a similar problem with older magura brakes which I bought second hand for my winter bike..was always thinking the problem are pads or caliper..tried everything …finally installed new discs ( cheap shimano ones) and everything is fine !!

no…since that happened I always go with two lights.. :-)

the pic shows the reason why I decided to go for the diablo..
riding down from a valaise peak on a fantastic tech trail after a long day exploring, the batteries of my magicshine light collapsed, they where well charged and worked perfect on the evenings before..
I had to push my bike for another two and a half hours down to the ground of the valley with the help of a tiny petzl emergency headtorch..
    (no way without these !!)
there are very good cheap chinese lights …but for me reliability has first priority..

since about four years I´m very pleased with my diabolo…used for commuting, nightrides and as back up light for the alps trips..
    it never let me down..
after several quite good chinese lights, with poor batteries, a melted charger , and some issues with my current handlebar light a leyzine SD, I decided to get another exposure
the Maxx D MK7 has a very good price at eavenscycles right now and will be available next week ..
but I`m in no need for the reflex/accelerator thing and not really convinced by the capacitive switching..(touch the backplate of the light to change the mode )..
so I will go for the Maxx D MK6…

the bionicon edison evo..as it is in the NEWS…
same frame 26 and 650B but with different seatstays!!

    and, I had a 650B frame…there is a difference between 26 and 650b
for this reason I stay with 26 and 29..

since spring with pikes 140mm,51mm offset, fits perfect to the QH..better than the white brothers loop I had before…
website is a bit slow right now..due to some health problems of marc from 2souls ..but support is as always excellent..

during the last years I always spent a week in october in the valais region and haute savoie…
for trail exploring not DH…so not really dependant from lifts, used more busses, trains and regular “telepheriques”
weather was mostly fantastic !!, better than in july…but snow is everytime possible even in the valleys
and days are getting short in october…
would prefer going to finale for DH and trail.. or spain,
    basquemtb.com may be interessting

and 17″ with TT length of 22″ and 23″
    and by the way..
    the 17/23 frame with 160mm fork had 67 headangle,73 seatangle, BB 13,4,chainstay 16,75, wheelbase 44,3..
    MK2 and MK3 are 18″…

during all these winters commuting I´ve learned that some light throw to the side is even more important than brightness..

    I`m running 22t,32t chainrings, 11-34 casette..
and a hope press fit BB ..I don`t get this press fit thing..but the hope BB is a real good solution..
