seems that this bike has still the original carbon fiber stems,
there was an oficcial recall for all 2540 fs evo bikes from porsche because
of problems with broken cfk stems,
they changed it for ali stems, the original ones where injection molded carbon fiber…
original price was 2108.-euros with spengle wheels, cane creek ad 10, magura luise brakes, votec gs air quadrat fork and xtr group..
votec bought all the carbon frames, only the ali ones where welded/made by votec…
their ali version was the f7 back then…

had a lupine nightmare lion (halo) for over 10 years (bought it 2002!), used it for commuting and nightriding regularly, all the years, all the crashes,it never failed..
but finally the batteries where a bit weak and LEDs where tempting,
so I played a while with several chinese lights until my magicshine charger melted and burned the kitchen floor..
it was just luck that I noticed it early enough..
went back and bought a (thirdhand) wilma, did the led upgrade and use it since two years now without any issues..just perfect !
(and for commuting I added a secondhand maxx d, barmounted..)

just finished to strip off the paint from an O-O fatty v2 frame..
converted some old XT QRs to 170mm
    and now contemplating about this..

still an fantastic frame, like a big BMX..
Im really happy that I didnt sold my old sov…
it just takes some rest hanging on the wall :-)

would choose the same treatment like rustynissan,
    brushed and clear powdercoated…
did this with my, now gone, QH slimJim and really liked it !
frame is still without any rust after 3 years…

in my case it was the charger which melted at first….
the batteries where just red hot so far..
was always joking about the “internet stories”, until I smelled smoke..
while just going to bed after a fantastic night ride…

it takes a while until it gets serious..

no alu and maybe just a bit too hardcore,

    (and alpines but thats OT)
sale prices are in his “news”

since having a burned kitchen floor from charging my magicshine light at night! three years ago, i`m a bit more careful right now…
so only on a congrete floor during the day when I´m in,
while having a maxx D and an old thirdhand wilma right now,i`m a bit more relaxed again..

    +1 for mboy
    horses for courses..
I ride 29″ and 26″ ..really like both, and really like the difference !
my quarterhorse is a blast, no probs with slow speed handling,
    perfect for the local trails..
but for exploring trails on the anual alps trip,(not PDS )
    for tight,steep,rocky, tech trails, switchbacks
and hours of carrying the bike
    my only choice is 26″!
the last two years I went with the 29er,but for me it was often just too long and too big for this kind of riding (or carrying :-)..)
on our trip to the alps we visited,as usual, the eurobike for half a day…
lots of 29ers there, not the unwanted child, just standard in the portfolios now..
while the hype this year was 650B+ …

    the hope`s are really interesting…
    but ..
I had a lupine nightmare halo, lion for more than 11 years in use..
sold it three years ago and started to “play” with the chinese lights..
but after a burned kitchen floor (magicshine charger) and two times with
lights suddenly failing on the trail, I went back to an older exposure maxx d for the bar, and a used (thirdhand) lupine wilma for helmet mount…perfect for my needs !
every year I´m interested in the new lights like the BT40`s
but in the market for a new light would choose the hope`s I guess..

if possible, just disamble the complete bike and ship it in two boxes with DHL,
    max size 120cmx60cmx60cm per box..
up to 10 kilos its just about 22.-euros per box
    with tracking and insurance….

or check DHL international, very good courier, but more expensive..

    accu
    Free Member

if the seller uses iloxx international transport, the price for a complete bike is 206.- euro..

so, best is you ask the seller if he could disassemble the bike and sent it in two shipments, using the “frame only” sized boxes ..
with DHL one box will be about 22.- euros up to 10kg , or 32.- euros up to 20 kg..tracking included..

since i changed for the hope everything is fine…
all others before failed sooner or later..
made my own hope BB tool,
not because of the money..was just impatient..
    quick solution, but worked perfect..

was also hesitating with the QH because of the seatangle..
but never had any problems with it…
had an SJ and than QH, and now the QH Ti (same geo) and its brilliant !!,
for my opinion this ride report with the prototype explains it at the best..

I don’t subscribe to ‘ride 10times and you’ll forget about the old wheelsize’. That means you are having to adapt to something that is different to what you particularly like. You are being forced to adapt what makes you work/your skill to something else.

    thats it for me…
tried 27,5 and didn`t liked it..
    but still very happy with 26″,29+,and 26×4.0 so…. :D

bike components in germany sells them, complete with new ti screws and washers…
    search for “syntace nadellager 301/601”
but you should check from which year/MK your frame is,
to be sure that it fits, they changed bearings and pivot diameter through the years

it was fresh goods friday 230..
was looking some time ago and couldn`t find it,
I think the only difference to the standard tool set are the 1.5 , 2.0 and 2.5 hex bits…and the extra carry case which I don´t need
the only way seems to make my own “handmade” kit
while buying the hex bits extra and replace the philips/posidrives bits..I just need one philips for adjusting the rear mech..

last year I bought an 650b steel HT frame, 2souls 41.5 evo
because I have an 2souls QH 29″ and its brilliant
used it with 26″wheels, was “ok”..but felt a bit long and too many pedal strikes !! awful
rode it 4 weeks with 650b wheels..
forced myself to get it,…no way..it never felt right
went back to my old rigs 26″ and 29″ :D
    and sold the frame !

    thanks….but…

I never used 120mm forks on my Bfe…
and never used an offset post….. :D

and I´m definitely not in the market for an 275..
maybe for another medium 26″ BFe from the last batch, later this summer

this is the thread to launch the rockets…so

the BFe 275 TT is even longer as on the solaris !
solaris 625m and the Bfe275 631mm, both size large
seems like a quite different geo..
    old Bfe was 610mm

Rocky Mountain has a single 27.5+ bike in their lineup for 2015, the Sherpa, which makes some people more upset than Bieber, animal abuse, and Clarkson getting fired from Top Gear. Combined.

    :D

    http://www.pinkbike.com/news/pinkbike-poll-will-you-consider-buying-a-275-bike-2015.html

no 27,5″ and no 27,5+” for me, but 29″ and 29+ .. and of course vintage 26″…
was all day out yesterday with my old dialled PA, oldschool wheelsize, odd angles, straight steerer,9 speed and so much FUN !!

on our swiss alps trip last year, we`ve seen quite a lot e-bikes..
not these special ones, just “standard” e-mtbs
    and not on the trails,
but in the cities and around remote huts and farms
