andy, I put it on the lathe,
but a mate used the original 32mm salsa flip lock clamp for nearly
a year on his wednesday, he just opened it enough with a screwdriver !

the ICT comes with the surly constrictor seatclamp but i wanted one with a lever..

salsa used to make a flip lock clamp in 33.1, but thats the same with the spacer kit, no chance to get one, even in the US its very rare

Industry standards … Do not generally apply to Fatbikes…

yep…just “converted” a 32mm salsa flip lock seatclamp to the
    “ICT standard”… 33.1mm :D

    good choice…
I bought an ICT ops frame back in november and right now I´m waiting for the last parts to start the build .. :-)…
cranks will be also RF turbine and so I was looking for the ICT spacer kit ..no chance ..
meanwhile I bought the standard spacers
    http://www.ubyk.co.uk/race-face-cinch-bb30-spacer-conversion-kit/19696
and will put them on the lathe to make it fit..
    with the hope stainless PF41-30BB
thats from MTBR ..the ICT spacers

(another problem ,got two times a new one so! )..

    for me problem solved..
just got another one from the US for my fatbike..

have the thermos stainless king as whitestone mentioned above since last winter…
it is slightly bigger than the standard flasks, (75mm thats 1 mm more than standard)..
but fits perfect in my cheap no-name cage and holds the heat quite well

just had a look at the magura site…

    lever blades for the mt5..

    Lever Blade 2-Finger, 4-Finger (opt.) 2-Finger ball-end (opt.) 4-Finger ball-end (opt.)

    whatever that means.. :-)

magura does not recommend sintered pads for the mt5/mt7 because
sintered pads create far more heat and may damage the oil gaskets..

have the mt5 since spring and really like it..immense stopping power,
had some issues while using old used and too thin rotors but now with superstar floating discs 203mm its absolutely perfect…
hope and hayes or the standard magura storm rotors should be fine also..
after spending two weeks in the alps in summer I changed to the mt7 pads..stopping power is the same for me, but changing pads is easier..

since september magura offers new (better) levers, but I think only for the mt7 not for the mt5 ..but I´m not sure about this..

you may paint it or better remove it..

180 grit sandpaper and smoothing it with 3m scotch brite works perfect
    for me..since years
just remove the decals carefully with 180 grit, finish with scotch brite and finally some silicone spray or tyre care (which mostly contains silicone) and its done..(no silicone on the brakes so !!)
works perfect and has no influence on the lifespan of the tyres..
did several sets in the last years without any issues

and here you see the result, maxxis mammoth

ride an old pike from 2005 on my commuter, in use since 11 years now and still fine..( oil change and cleaned every year )
not the performance of the current (more expensive) forks..but works for my intended use perfect..

In the end the ultimate limitation for a bike is the human bit, and humans have shown themselves capable of riding all sorts of “wrong” geometries.

    another vote for the zee,
very good, as stated above ..powerful and reliable..
wasn`t happy with the original brake pads and changed to
    “trickstuff” pads from germany..perfect now

lots of routes and trails there… the gondolas from savognin to somtgans(?)
transport bikes for free…just the bikes :-)
found the trails more xc orientated ..
but we stayed just a weekend there and the weather was quite bad..
we tried to ride a trail called west side story..but had to quit

at least they found a new name for it…
    gnot boost spacing… :-)

The Karate Monkey uses a horizontal dropout with a derailleur hanger that features Gnot-Boost spacing, which gives the rider the ability to run any kind of mountain bike hub they choose. 10 x 135mm QR, 12 x 142, or 12 x 148 Boost™ will all work in the Karate Monkey frame

    accu

on MTBR they wrote that the “new” krampus will be available in fall..
minor changings…no QR anymore – but no boost standard..

    really like the green jabberwocky..

but according to the wheelsize debate with a 26″ backwheel instead of the 24″ shown.. :D
    and with coil spring shock..

10 years old, short and high.. but still my favorite choice for exploring tech trails in the valaise valley

patagonia…since i began/learned climbing in the early 80`s until today

for bike stuff the pattern is
    shimano for gears
    maguras for brakes
    dt swiss for wheels

since i nearly only ride fatbikes right now…
salsa, as long as not all frames are in carbon..
(and i expect that this will come, like santa cruz )

there are dillinger 4, 26×4.0 with 240 studs and the dillinger 5, 26×4,8 with 258 studs, both 120TPI
and both quite expensive—but for ice brilliant..
and so much fun on frozen ski runs…
both are available without studs, but these studs are quite expensive..
best prices as far as i know are here..

i`m back on nates, front and rear..
as russyh said a bit numb and slow on tarmac, but traction is
brilliant in mud and snow.. will also search for a better rolling rear tyre as long as there is no snow..
JJ are a blast in summer on dry trails, but completely useless in the mud

porsche had another recall for this bike before the stems because of the votec fork and carbon seatposts…so prices dropped finally ..
(and dropped dramatically in a secret sale for the staff members)
people where joking the only two recalls from porsche are the fs evo bike…
for this reason they changed the manufacturer short time later,
storck bikes, quite similar frame, different specs, acros mamba fork.. all black..and back to high prices
and ..at that time lots of carbon frames broke..just think about the first cannondale raven…dealers where collecting broken frames in bunches to send them back to c..
    and this…

Still, we’re all agreed they look/were crap.
