it is an official distributor and nicolai premium shop…so I would expect that warranty issues are no problem,
but the postage would be interesting, and the question if they would ship the frame to the UK …..
..maybe i`m wrong but I thought that nicolai UK has much better prices as nicolai germany…

the video is from niner bikes, called fork hammering ..
you find it on youtube and also as an older post on the "bustedcarbon.com" site..
    offtopic here anyway..
everybody has to make his own! experiences…

stronger of course—-but the impact strength of steel will be never achieved…so… what makes just a dent in your steel downtube will (very likely…) destroy your carbon downtube..

..just something to notice…the L and XL frames have bottle holder bosses on the seat tube….
as the stiffee and crush..most of the owners may not concerned about this..i was totally ..mmmhh.. "upset"..

    ..VERY GOOD !! brant…
the only thing is that these "extended seat tube " rigs just LOOK that right , especially for the taller riders…
I`m 6.2 and have an 18 blue pig….fantastic !!..but it looks big,
my mates asked me why I went for a larger size frame with the pig…but its an 18 inch frame as all my other bikes …

during the (freezing) wintertime , my solution for reliable shifting …

I take new cables and degrease it completely !!… while using silicone spray to "regrease" them ..outers are also filled with silicone spray….

and ….I`m running an shimano 8 speed casette with oldschool thumbies…(7 shifters will work properly with 8 speed cogs..)

tried this during the last winters…works perfect !!

looks like a large frame..? ride mine with the same seatpost extension, have a large and I am 6,2 …works perfect for me..
I would keep it and invest in a new fork….and if there is some cash left, in respraying it again…
the frame is only for 130mm travel—but the length of an older 130 mm marzocchi fork (from the time the frame was made) is 520mm…the length of a pike is 518 mm, it will fit perfect…if you get a U-Turn version you may turn it down to 120 mm for allround use, while having 140 mm for the descents…
my frame is taking a rest right now, hanging on the wall –but i will not sell it…I am sure I would regret it soon…..

    NO !
a mate did this a couple of years ago, stating that the ride will help him to recover quicker..
3 weeks later he had to go to hospital and stayed there for for 2 months….with serious cardiac problems caused by the infection he had…
(by the way..he was well trained and fit at age 32….BEFORE..)

oldgit, if you find such a headset-adaptor please post a picture..
would be really interesting … it shouldn`t be very difficult to make them, or have them made…
    thank you…

    proprietary parts in general,
carbon fiber frame or parts, like seatposts, handlebars

the lack of full length outers, and bottle bosses on the seattube..something to think about…(P7..mmmhh?)

but never , ever intergrated headsets (internal, semi integrated whatsoever) …

I ride just standard shimano outers …but before installing, I degrease the cables and spray it with silicone spray and fill the outers also with silicone spray..
    works perfect…mud, grit,very low temps…
after commuting during several winters (work)daily 28 miles…best way for me….

on my winter bike I run as usual 8 speed shimano with good old thumb shifters…(the thumbies are 7 shift, but it works perfect with 8 gears…)
even in semifrozen mud and grit still perfect shifting…

there is a "tall baseplate" +5mm for chris king headsets…
    http://chrisking.com/parts/baseplates
    works perfect..!
I had a cane creek headset before, a special one with a higher baseplate…it lasted exactly 3 months last winter….

63mm, so the spring should have a stroke of 2.5 or more, as long as the free length of the spring is fine,

i am still riding the original spring…400×2.5 manitou swinger coil 3 ways…
