I always wanted a Whiskeytown Racer or a Ritchey P21. And a Yo Eddy.

I have an Orange R8 (Reynolds 853 main tubes). And a Bontrager privateer (tange something or other tubes). The bonty has skinnier tubes and is sooo much more enjoyable to ride as it has more of the steel feel. No scientific reasoning here, just subjective opinion.

I’d not buy because of the tubing sticker.

i was camped next to the french, very civilised, no attentionwhoring and they kept the cheese (their secret stash) under wraps.

to much beer and cheese made one fellow dash across the road for a dump in the woods. frantic, i tells ya. 😳

Me and my buddy got lost on the way back to the campsite and bumped into mtbmatt (who was also lostish) even that was fun.

dont worry about the heady titles of these events it’s all good fun and you will finish 4th or better

ssec 2010 was the most fun weekend I’ve ever had at a bike race. It was excellent, what with a laid back atmosphere and whatnot. Certainly more enjoyable than Mayhem.sits.bonty etc (imo). Any of the above rides would be good. The wife isnt giving me time off to go belgium or ireland so i’ll deffo be at ssuk in 2011.

For something pretty, practical and hardwearing, how about Royce 36h hubs on Halo Aerorage.

I found them flexy, very flexy.

Was this flexy sideways or fore/aft. It sounds like they give good damping.

Its only a race if you’re competing. If you are tootling home and they overtake then surely they are just faster moving traffic?

i have a hi viz ankleband hanging from my backpack (which has scotch thingy bungee cords) and another ankleband on my right ankle. you gotta give the ‘tards maximum opportunity to see you.

No it’s not just you they have always been shit in the wet. I would try vittoria open pave a very good winter/wet condition tyre.

Open pave’s are my favourite road tyre ever, but, they’re stupid money now. I have been impressed with gatorskins. they’re a lot more grippy than comparable conti’s of 10 years ago.

If they have a hook on the edge of the rim, like on your mtb rim they’re for clinchers. if its concave like here…http://www.parktool.com/repair/readhowto.asp?id=101 it a tub so needs glueing.
