@Simon G are you me?? I got mine (a z flex) as the children scooting is too fast for walking, too slow for cycling and I too am not gonna start riding an adult scooter.

Having used an American made Timbuktu, a chrome metropolis, a stussy messenger, an osprey flapjack and my current mission workshop money I’d say that the Monty is rhe most ‘work friendly’ bag (depending on you work) but in my case it’s smart enough for the office. The chrome was very well built but too heavy for my needs and the buckle was a Pita. The timbuk2 I liked, but, wasn’t keen on the floating, extra, shoulder pad, plus it’s internal organising pockets aren’t as good or as well thought out as the Monty. The stussy and the osprey were both a bit meh Imo.

Iirc ‘green boots’ was (is) an Indian climber who died in 96. O think he’s mentioned in the book Dark Summit.

It’d be rude not to. And some Gil Scott Heron for a musical accompaniment.

    Forget that.
Just give him a plate saying

I reckon it sounds like a good weekend. If I’d not already signed up I’d sign up.
Can I have #1 number plate???

Can’t offer any useful information but will watch thread with interest. Am currently on naproxen to reduce inflammation and subsequent nerve issues in my dominant elbow. A carry over from broken olecranon (and two subsequent operations). I find careful positioning with support, but no pressure helps.

    Hope you find a solution!!

I’ll keep the records I have an emotional attachment to and those that I really like.
I’ve listed a load of stuff on discogs and it’s an eye opener. I have some stuff, like bdp’s sex and violence which is ‘worth’ far more than I’d ever pay cuz i never really liked it.
Far more difficult to sell would be something like the Beastie Boys Polly Wog Stew Ep, which seems to be worth a bob or two. But, I’ve not played that particular record for years.

Instant hit, ah! I like it!!

Russianbob. That was main train of thought. Discogs is quite good to gauge the market.
    There will be three tiers.
    Stuff I keep.
    Stuff worth money.
    Stuff not worth anything…

I also am mostly stuck in the past.

However, for a taste of some more recent stuff.

    Bishop Nehru
    Oddisee
Checkout Redefinition Records. Good stuff there (like k Def).
Sadat X keeps dropping great songs.
Afro(can’t think of his full name now but he’s down with ra the rugged man).

Off the top of my head.

It ain’t dead, it’s just that the good artists don’t get the airtime as it’s not the saccharine easy to digest shit that the uninformed seem so eager to consume.
Its not that the consumer is stupid. Just lazy.
Its rap idol (or rap factor). No talent ass clowns fronting the ‘me too’ sounds of today.
But, no it ain’t dead. There’s loads of creative, skillfull and barrier pushing artists out there. You don’t even have too look hard to find them.

I never ‘got’ Guru. Did see him in Coventry a long time ago.

    My top ten…

    Rakim
    Kool Keith
Percee P (your favourite rappers favourite rapper)
    Mc Shan
    Schoolly D
    Roxanne Shante
Blade (cuz he’s my mate and I love him)
    Chuck D
    Phill most Chill
    Double K

    Bands shouldn’t be allowed!

I feel the need to inform poor drivers what they’ve done wrong, to my wife’s despair. I don’t get angry, but, I can’t help myself.

Last year or so I was driving towards the M1 on a dual carriageway I was aware of some guy in a car weaving between both lanes to quicken his journey. As he was, maybe two thirds past me he cut into the left lane and forced me onto the grass verge to avoid a collision. Seconds later, when he leant over to his glovebox I seized the opportunity to repay the skills and cut him off. He was Livid. As he tried to carve a third lane I blocked him continously. When we finally got to the roundabout he accelerated into the roundabout and made a shooting motion at me. Me, I just waved and laughed. What I’d have done if he’d have followed me I don’t know.

I must say, I have considered this over the years and have come to the following conclusion.
    In order of bad drivingness.
    1. Old, knackered exec cars. (Big old b&w’s and the like)
    2. flat bed trucks.
    3. Women driving mpv’s
    4. White van man.
    5. Women driving audi a1’s.

Clearly there will be exceptions to the rule, but…..

My good friend who works for a so very, very cool retailer (where the yoot actually vet you as you enter the store to ascertain whether they’ll take your money) says it’s all about the Adidas superstar. dlx model only. UK made Nb good. U.S. made Nb good also.
Vans are now off trend, which is good for me cuz they’re cheaper!

Met Jamie Baulch and Darren Campbell in Australia. Really nice guys, Jamie give my wife a pair of sunglasses as she’d lost hers earlier in the day.
Mick Talbot, had a chat backstage at a Galliano gig once. Clearly loves his music.
Damon Hill, was having dinner with his son at the table next to me. Not a chat but a polite hello and such.
Billy Connelly at the Mardi Gras in Sydney. I was have an open discussion with both the marchers and the protesting religious factions 😀 Billy came over and said how much fun it was.
I’ve also met a bunch of rappers you’ve probably never heard of!

A teaspoon made by Nest. Picked it up in Nz in 1999. Its been round the world a couple of times and 90% of the yoghurt and other desserts I’ve eaten in that time have been using that spoon.

    What epicyclo said.
I have a swift on my ss. Comfy from about mile 20. The only saddle I’ve ever that that is as comfy with or without padded shorts. I’ve never been able to get it comfy on my Road bike but on mtb it’s simply amazingly comfortable. It gets regular treatment with books proofide (which is a job I really enjoy).I vaguely remember nybikesnob writing about why a leather Brooks suits mountainbikes.
Clearly there’s differing opinions up there ^.

I’d also highly recommend Sadat X, from Brand Nubian and also Kool Keith (but he’s probably an acquired taste).

Why does the question “why do you want leave?” get asked? It’s your leave, not his.
When he realises how awesome singlespeeder are your leave will be granted 😀
