Have people found the quoted ERD of 589mm to be correct for the 35mm 29er rim?

The DT calculator is giving me lengths of 284mm and 285mm for hope Pro 2 evo hubs.

If I understand correctly, and those lengths are correct, I need to buy 286mm spokes?

Yeah I mustn’t grumble. It was more the delay that irked.

Finally got them yesterday and am impressed. Now to get the built up!

    @maxtorque, that’s excellent, I love a pie chart lol.

Planning a strip and repaint of mine this winter so will do the same.

I’ve just bought a Trek tag along as oldest is too big for our Hamax. Youngest is going into a weeride kangaroo as I was never a fan of the hamax.

Gutted there are no 20″ available!

Brant, anything you can do?! ;)

I’m ashamed to say I hadn’t looked for anything so obvious. I’ll check. It just seems to move from one position to the other with no feel of any feedback.

I’ve used Slik and the quality is excellent.

You probably need to give him a call if you haven’t had a reply though.

Thanks for the replies so far.

Regarding the clutch mech, I will prob just try it and see if I suffer from dropped chains.

For chain ring bolts, any suggestions as to what to buy? Something like this? http://www.uberbikecomponents.com/view-product/Uberbike-Singlespeed-Chainring-Bolt-Kit-7075-Alloy—Black

Are they really that good? (Genuine question, not trying to fan flames!)

My son is 3 and has a balance bike and a pig iron cheap thing he guilted me into buying when I went into a Halfords with him. It must weight as much, if not more than my Soda though!

He’s now too big for the hamax seat so I’m toying with buying him a CNOC 16 and some sort of tow bar. I’m just curious if they really are as good as the internet makes them out to be?

On this topic… Does anyone know if an M785 lever will work with a current Zee caliper?

Thanks, I’ve got the 35mm ones coming though, will 25mm be wide enough for a 30mm internal width?

What width of tape are people using for these rims?

This will be my first time running tubeless so no idea what to get! Any suggestions on what valves to buy too?

Not sure if I bought them from the uk or not, will need to check.

I bought these as my rp23 was just too linear. They make a huge difference! I went for the largest initially, but it was then very wooden in feel. I then went down to the medium, and now on the smallest which still leaves it feeling very plush but doesn’t blow out too quick.

Where did you find the best place to buy one from?

Interesting. I have exactly the same with my front m785 too. I’ve changed pads (uberbike orange) and cleaned everything with alcohol, but the bite goes again very quickly and it’s so loud it could wake the dead.

Will take it off the bike and check for leaks.

I knew I should have bought Hopes! I have the previous gen xt brakes on my soda though and they’ve never missed a beat!

Finally ordered my lb rims too!

I took my Soda last year and had no issues. Used a proper lock when out and about and then put them in a spare chalet bedroom over night.

I won’t be able to do it until this evening now (on train already!) but if no one else has by then, I’ll do it.

I bought one after trying a Camber Carbon, Whyte 129S and a Trek that I can’t remember. It just felt the most playful of the 4 and seemed to suit me.

I’d have loved something “bigger” but for the riding I actually do the XC bias made most sense. I’ve upgraded to full XT and have some Pro2/LB carbon wheels on route. Recently I’ve been running a HD front NN rear and it’s nice. I did have to fit a volume spacer into the shock though as it went through the travel too easily.

I did buy a second hand one though, the price for new Orange kit is crazy. Therefore I was stuck with black. But, it will be getting painted orange asap!

I tried the ESI grips and really liked them. They do damage easily, but I find them very comfortable and don’t get any numbness.

I do fancy a custom Grey/Gold set of Northshores though.

This will be me tomorrow! Booked the bike on the train, will be switching back to flats for the day to save on carrying shoes.

If you see a black & orange, Gyro between Paddington and Farringdon then say hello!

Don’t underestimate the discounts you can get. I think ours was supposed to be something like £3500-4000 and I paid just over £2k for it.

Look what you spend on bikes to justify it ;)

Do yourself a favour and buy a VI-Spring. We bought a super king Supreme a few years ago and it’s excellent. Medium side for me, soft side for the wife.

You spend more time on a matress than anything else, don’t scrimp! I looked everywhere and these guys beat everyone by miles. I got well over £1000 discount off the list price.

Good reading this. I’m about to get some on the amnesty deal but can’t decide between ground control front and rear or if should put a purgatory on the front.

    Another Q!

What rim strips are people using on the 35mm rims? I want to run mine tubeless.

Has anyone laced the 35mm rim to pro2s? I’m curious to know what spoke length you used.

Pretty much anything works tyre wise at Swinley. I’m planning to go on Saturday and have a HD front and NN rear.

(Also got an Audi and 29″ of joy ;))

Bars are an easy one IMO. Buy something silly wide and cheap (IIRC Nukeproof do an 800mm bar) then just experiment with positions.
Stems are not so easy! Perhaps buy a used 50mm, 70mm and 80mm and see what you like?

Bugger. I’d have bought a set of these!

You can’t really do a set of LB carbons for £300. The rims will be around £240-250 landed in the UK.
