I did think about one of those but most seem to be aimed at theory test level!

Both of my boys are on the spectrum. aged 7 and 5. Oldest is classic Aspergers, youngest only has a mild diagnosis (process related and emotional.)

Like you it was a bit of a shock at first, we always suspected, but that doesn’t make it easy news to come to terms with.

The good thing to take is that now you know, life will be easier to manage, and manage it you should. For us, routine is everything. Our whole house is setup to help them now. Walls are plastered with planners and symbol charts to help them know whats coming next and what order things are to be done in. This makes the world of difference.

Sure there are dark/difficult times, they will come and go, but they will be there.

I don’t use the chat forum much but my email is in my profile, if you want an ear to bend then drop me a line.

I’ve got a similar dilemma. Riding a pretty old and flexy Orange Gyro and have got back into my riding this year after a few years of not really doing it much.

The lure of something new and carbon is strong. SB4.5, Following MB are both very tempting. Do I need it? Not at all. I’m keeping myself in check by telling myself I just need to get out and ride my current bike rather than spunk 5-6k on the never never.

Dug into it a bit more and my bike has the clamp in bearings and not the press in. Have ordered the bearing kit from Orange so fingers crossed I can get it done ok!

Spent a bit more time reading up on this and am pretty sure what I want isn’t available.

    Requirements for me are
    – small form factor, UP or Fitbit Charge HR at most
    – usual tracker functionality
    – sleep analysis
    – not a “watch” based solution as I’ve got proper watches.
    – HR sensor that would work in realtime via Bluetooth

The last one and the size seem to be the issue.

The Fitbit Pulse does everything except it’s a watch and too big. There’s a Mio device that works in real time, but it’s too big for day to day imo.

So, I’m sticking the the UP3 I bought earlier for day to day and I’ve bought a Mio Link for the HR duties when I’m riding.

Thanks, but the Mio options don’t do general fitness tracking and the Scoshe is too bulky!

Really does look like what I want doesn’t exist!

Get her using MyFitnessPal, if you’re committed, it is very motivational to track exercise, food intake and potential weight loss progress.

New bike makes sense, but I could do without spending the money! I need to go up to £1000 for it to be of a decent spec, or I spend a few hundred on improving the bike she already has and likes.

Will browse classifieds for small bikes, looked for wheels but haven’t found any!

Re: hs33 brakes, overkill for her really. She’s very much xc/leisure!

As mentioned above, Netflix parental controls are pathetic.

You set up profiles as you know. These profiles can then be restricted to specific content.

The failing though is that a user is able to switch profile without any PIN being required!

I have my Son’s iPad set up using a profile with his name. To make it fully safe, you need to to change all profiles to have the same ‘kids’ filter. The only way to manage that though is on a browser, even mobile safari won’t let you change the settings.

I suffered from something similar when using Specialized shoes on my MTB.

I switched to Northwaves for road which were wider and I’m using Specialized insoles with them, it was better. I then added a thin cleat wedge to raise the inside of my foot and this was better still. My right foot was putting too much pressure on the outside edge so the wedge helps balance things out.

On my MTB I have recently switch to Giro HV shoes which are much larger than the normal versions. They are a revelation. I used to get hotspots after 20-30 mins riding but the HV shoes sorted this right out.

Try putting more fluid in from the caliper end, it won’t need a lot. This seems to work for me.

As mentioned, it’s all about the backing from the Manufacturer.

I bought a new A6 Avant for less than a 12 month old one would have cost. IIRC, at the time used stuff was around £35k. I specced a new one to £41k and paid £31k for it.

Part of the discount came from the dealer and their margin on the car, the other £2k came from VWFS.

It’s easy to do, use something like drivethedeal to get a target price and buy through them, or, use that price and phone large dealerships near you (Sytner are best from my experience, biggest chain, biggest margins!) and just tell them, I want this car, for this price, I’ll give you a deposit now.

    First post in this thread!

Bought myself a cycleops fluid 2, road bike and a tr subscription after several months off any bike, being very unfit and putting on loads of weight.

Did the 20min test and got a ftp of 160 so very low compared to most!

I’m going through sweet spot base 1 and just doing a session every other day. Going well so far.

I’m curious what people’s natural cadence rates are though? Mine seems very low as I started off around 72/73. With some work im now happy at 82/85 and use this as my comfortable level. I can get up to 105-110 but it’s very difficult. Will this just improve and come easier with more training?

    The Porsche world.

    Tell me about it.

Just had the horns replaced on my Cayenne Turbo… £360! I’d have diy’d it, but you need to take the bumper off.

Need to do my prop shaft too, porsche part? £750. Non porsche part? £300! Same warranty on both!

Easy option is to to get them to take it back and buy one from a specialist or have an inspection done before buying it. You could try getting them to address some of the points, but unless it was dirt cheap it probably won’t be worth it. At a guess a 2003 Boxster with 60k on must have been around 9k?

There are enough decent Porsche specialists around that there will be one near you.

Boxsters are common enough that there are plenty to choose from too.

Can’t see mention of a frame only price?

Classic case of too much weight on your hands. Try shifting your saddle forward a bit, or rotating your. Are to. Ring your hands back a bit.

Just phone them, no point emailing as they dont answer.

I’ve had two lots from them, both custom and both excellent, just a bit slow!

I’m having much the same debate at the moment. Tallboy Carbon or Ripley. This years tallboy colours are terrible though!

The other ones I’ve been looking at are the Pivot Mach429 and the Niner Jet 9 RDO.

All get good reviews, all cost much the same for the frame guess I need to actually demo some!

Any UK based people who sell pre assembled 4 x 18650 packs and a charger for use with my Solarstorm lights?

Will try some of the BBB ones.

Although I was toying with trying some Northshores or Rogues anyway.

Please do let us know the outcome.

I’m thinking that if mine was going to break then it would have by now. I’ve had a fair few crashes that have been big enough to twist the stem round on the steerer, plus I’m far from slim!

Even searching doesn’t show up much information or even many instances of them failing. I don’t ride particularly hard, but I am a bit of a fatty and it’s taken a years worth of abuse from me so far.

The only positive is it means I can now justify switching to an Atlas 35 stem and bars ;)

Ok so mine is 1044. Bit concerned as I planned to ride tomorrow!

Hmm this is a bit worrying. I’ve got a turbine stem that I bought second hand.

Who would I approach in the uk if mine has that date?

    Good revival!

I bought an X2 and have been using it quite a lot recently. It wasn’t quite enough on its own though so I’ve just bought the X3 for the bars and the X2 is now helmet mounted.

Going to try them tonight for the first time!

I took my fairly decently specced Gyro and the wifes GaryFisher, both stand out from the hire bikes.

We used them all week and just used two big locks with no issue. At night they went into the boiler cupboard.

From talking to the bike hire guys, the best thing to do is to make sure you lock them up in a busy, open place. They told me most go from outside chalets at night or from places other than the main bike paring areas.

Ouch, we were there at the start of the month and took our decent bikes.

Never leave them out at night, they always go inside.

Ok, the HD is pretty much 2.4″, hard to do without calipers, but it’s way under 2.5″.

My NN is actually a 2.25, not a 2.35. But it measures up at 2.25 (maybe a fraction over) on the 35mm rim. So the 2.35 should be a smudge bigger.
