This is Mrs 66deg: I feel compelled to add that Mister 66deg gets better stuff than pizza … especially all the duck and other South-Western specialities I cook for him upon his return from adventurous rides. Dinner on the table and all. 😀

looks very similar to the Var – is it?

We are near Aix en Provence Bouche du Rhone so next to the Var, our climate has colder winters the vegitation is quite different for example we struggle to grow palm trees but just an hours drive away they are all over the place but it’s similar scenery and lots of MTBing on limestone trails.
The climate here is excellent all year round, the photos above are the norm rather than the exception.

It’s nice when you can find a restaurant open if you hungry at 3 in the afternoon?

In the time i have been here opening hours are one of the most frustrateing things, many of the local shops can be shut during opening hours just because it’s too hot and they went home (even the Post Office).
On one hand it boils my cheese and on the other i think good on you go home if works a pain .
I think this has been one of the problems for BOS fork servicing ,if you expect to get something done during most of July and August …. good luck whereas the UK customer expects service all year round.

regarding the food, if you get too close to the Italian border, you might find it more Italian than French.

I was discussing this with my better half we were trying to decide which dish/meal our area is famous for and concluded that it was pizza, but OMG they are pretty amazing.

The food is superb but it’s a long drive back to Blighty for a bacon sandwich .The beer is all larger so great if that’s your thing but it’s another long drive back to Blighty if you fancy a pint of Boddingtons.
As for the men iv’e just shoved my hand down the front of my pants to double check and find i’m similarly equipped but i suppose they are quite hot if that’s your thing ,the totty on the other hand has to be seen to be believed.

I thought Henderson missing the last 3 games was a more important factor than the infamous slip.

I once heard one of those TV AM doctors describing the difference between a cold and flu she said ” if you see a ten pound note on the floor and pick it up then you have a cold if you can’t be bothered then you have flu”.

    Robert Plant’s Wikipedia page:

Robert Anthony Plant, CBE (born 20 August 1948) is an English musician, singer, and songwriter best known as the lead vocalist and lyricist of the rock band Led Zeppelin. Possessing a powerful and wide vocal range (particularly using his trademark high-pitched vocals) he has also had a successful solo career spanning more than 40 years. Plant is regarded as one of the greatest singers in the history of rock and roll during which time he has influenced musicians such as Freddie Mercury, Axl Rose, and Chris Cornell.[2] In 2006, Heavy Metal magazine Hit Parader named Plant the “Greatest Metal Vocalist of All Time”.[3] In 2009, Plant was voted “the greatest voice in rock” in a poll conducted by Planet Rock.[4][5] In 2008, Rolling Stone editors ranked him number 15 on their list of the 100 greatest singers of all time. In 2011, readers of Rolling Stone placed Plant in first place of the magazine’s list of the best lead singers of all time.[6]

Seems many of those in the position to judge, disagree with you, but what do they know that you don’t, eh?

This was my main bike from 2009 until sept 2013 ,i replaced the wheels twice and the 8spd cassette and chain each year ,forks were serviced at Dalby V brakes were fine the in dry terrible in the wet and i did struggle with arm pump during 3 days in Morzine, the long descents were hard work but i did everything including a few black runs.
All things considered it was very cheap to run the bike but choice of spares was limited ,i have upgraded to FS and kept the above bike as a spare for the days when my more complex bike decides not to work.
