Didn’t realise the gravel bikers had taken over stw.
Get to ****. From what I saw in the video, it hardly looked like a decent trail anyway. A shitload of rocks is no challenge and does nothing for speed or flow.
I take it you don’t ride the Lakes and your idea of a fun trail is a nice smooth groomed one!

Dusted off my old Turner rfx 160 travel and just riding that on the road,it’s a bit bouncy and slow but does the job!Plenty of dick drivers about!

I’ve had two dogs come running over to me and had a load of abuse when asking the owner’s to put the dog on a lead!

Onzadog what was the problem with your frames?
I had a problem with my rfx and it took a couple of months to get sorted not like the old days and also some heated emails!

I have 150 pikes on my burner, only problem is they show the rear shock up!i also have a 160mm air shaft but have yet to install it.I may get a new rear shock to match the front, monarch or a db inline!

Oregon, Lake Tahoe you’ll be ok, it’s just the snakes you have to worry about in Oregon. Vancouver Island and Whistler another story however, tons of hungry bears… as you have no meat on you I think you’ll be ok. If I was you I’d go camping up Kentmere.

If you like the 5spot you will love the Burner, not a huge jump but small improvements as most 650 bikes.Only thing it gives away to the spot is a few pedal strikes due to lower bb but then it corners great ,climbs as good if not better than the spot & well planted on the downs, one fun bike!

The rear tyre is fast but does not like wet rocks or cambers, the front tyre is a great all round tyre.

I was unable to get a test ride,on a 5spot I can ride medium or large but the large burner has a well long tt so was not sure if it would be to long.My medium has a 70mm stem with 740mm bars, only had 6 rides but love it,my spot is a heavy build with 36 forks 2.5 tyres, angleset + dropper post,a good lakes, alps bike.
The only rfx I have tested was a 2007-8 & my spot is a better bike!
The burner does take a little bit more effort on the climbs but if you push hard it will keep the speed.
The only other 650 bikes I rode, intense traser @ cube but the burner feels better.

Not to every ones taste but its how it rides & this is my 8th Turner!650 is great, rolls over rocks, steps better + holds its speed better than my 5spot.

The whole enchilada is a must do ride, get an early morning shuttle as it gets hot down on porcupine rim.The climb at the start is a lung buster but its all fun after that, not hard but it does batter your body!
