I had no idea that walking was a more dangerous form of transport in the UK than cycling :

    https://www.statista.com/statistics/300601/average-number-of-fatalities-according-to-transport-in-the-united-kingdom/

Are joking or trolling? Because this does not show that walking is more dangerous than cycling.

Pretty sure the main push up/climb is 100m/300ft at FOD.

According to my strava its 129m… Oops.
I’d still be happy with 40m uplift.

There’s, handily, no way to ride back up in that plan linked

    Clever.

snotrag, agree, would work at any of the southern bike parks, forest of dean, qecp etc.
My only issue with uplift is that I think Ebikes are killing it.(edit – everyone else has said this, I should really read more threads, the auto end of thread link think is a good/bad thing)
We did FOD uplift  a few months ago and there were literally hundreds of ebikes there.
Edit – Note FOD is “only” about 40m drop and the uplift is a great thing, the descents are excellent. In fact you only really need a small gradient to have loads of fun. Top of FOD is very gentle gradient but is also brilliant So the height thing is a total red herring. .

Yeah we were transporting beds and were able to tuck them under the back seats, jsut needed an extra couple of inches…

That bike rug is it two sides? So would fold out like a butterfly? If so its awesome.

If I had a crewcab – assume that is A11ys dciv? I woudl remove the bulkhead. I did this in a transit rental once and there was a lot more room. It was jsut a plastic moulding held in with slef tappers, easy to remove and replace.

Just because others have had their rights taken away doesn’t mean everyone has to

Exactly, also arguing amongst ourselves is what they want us to do.
Surely the railworkers getting increased rights just sets the precedent for the rest of us. Let them have it, then we all might get it.
Or are you just working on the politics of envy?

Having converted two whole brexiteers I refuse to write anyone off. He is parroting a line. he said he would see the result of any new ballot, so that at least shows a willingness to change. Everyone makes mistakes, if he changes with better evidence then thats fine.
    However, he isn’t PM material..

That said, I feel that a lot of the ‘wants’ of the union are either unrealistic or not pragmatic. In feel that thier ideology is contributing to the chaos.

Its about negotiation isn’t it, they have to have an aim, I expect they will be lucky to get a tiny amount of what they want. If govts will be successivley dishonest and negotiate hard you can’t say  “give us reasonable pay and conditions and we will be happy” because they will gut that in negotiations.

    Gents
Do not feed the trolls. We can all see you mean well, but Ernie entered this conversation earlier with a crappy motte and bailey fallacy and has been shooting out other fallacy bait and intellectual dishonesty ever since.
He does not represent the majority opnion on here, or in the country, I think he does not even represent his own opinon. So why are you all wasting your time filling up a decent discussion by arguing with attention seeking trolls? You have to learn not scratch that little mossie bite.
There are lots of people with thought proving intelligent arguments in the discussion above here that can sway us or at least make us think. Talk to them…
The OP was Mick Lynch for PM.
    Yay or nay?

    I am liking v8ninetys summary:

Re. his Brexit views; nobody is perfect, but at least he articulates an opinion that is based in his and his members honest experience, that isn’t obviously rooted in underlying fear of brown people. So he’s worth listening to, even if only to understand where we are now.

Other than that, his sublime ring running around reporters, interviewers and MPs time after time are just golden to watch. I don’t think he’s destined for politics, he’s too straight forward. But he’s a likeable, obviously dedicated individual who knows his stuff and isn’t afraid to speak his mind. More power to his elbow.

and agree, that its not enough for Lynch to be Pm..

As others said try seating, deflate, brush loads of soapy water around the beads and reflate to 60psi or more. Should straighten it out.
If that doesn’t work then we are in black majic territory.

weeksy, you make sense, I’d be using the same logic. I need it by end of feb, so if I see the right one now, I’m getting it.
Why do I need it by end of feb?
Me and 3 mates are going to pyrenees and spain for 2 weeks on a riding trip.

Interestingly weeksys pricing reflects my experience, I bet he bought before covid, they were way cheaper…

We have just had one this morning that the solicitor swore had been done at 0900. At 1145 I was geting impatient and asked for proof of telegraphic transfer and 5 mins later she sent the pdf receipt, the money arrived 2 mins later. So I suspect that the other posters above are correct when they say it goes as soon as it is keyed in.

I’ve rented a few transit crew cabs and t5s for trips and local moves etc. I was happy.

It is to do with the idea that you cannot nationalise trains within the EU system.
He tne goes on to admit in fact each country can change the eu laws at their whim, plus he can’t expalin france, spain, germany, holland, who all have a near as dammit nationalised system.
The more I read about him, the RMT  and their brext stance, the more I am against the OP’s idea of ML for PM. He is a great union guy, but he isn’t any more than that. lets not undermine the brilliant work he is doing.
I want Bruce Wee for PM.

I paid £16k for a Custom with decent spec and 42,000 on the clocks recently. It’s a 2016 model.

Find me and L2 one like this and I am sold. would prefer 9 seat minbus version, or 6 seat crewcab.

Two of my riding mates bought the same bikes from the same place, 6 months apart. Giants, same model colour etc. One is faster than the other it just cuts out at a higher speed. I attributed it to manufacturing differences etc.
The giants are wierd, they littereally cut the power so it it is like hititng a brick wall when you hit the limiter, they have learned to hold back just a bit so they always get full support. Seems daft though, the torque sensor and software works buy adding on a factor of the input torque, so 50% 100% or more.
Say it is 100% support and the speed limits is 20mph, you are pushing at 10Nm, it is giving you 10NM, at 19.9mph, if you push 11 NM, it goes to 20.1mph, it cuts out and you go from 20NM to 11NM, and slow down to about 10mph. It should taper off..

To be fair, he does say he would have to see a new ballot on brexshit. I’m happy that he will change his mind, at least he is not a fixed opnioner. Still a bit of a frother though. Hmmm. I’m still a no.

It may not be illegal, but I’ve been told by a copper that CPS adivce to cops is charge everyone and let the courts sort it out. I don’t want to take that risk unless I am deer stalking or on my way to chefs training session.

I have scanned a lot of this, and I find it odd that there is a disparity with pace between ebikers and regular. I ride meat powered with ebikers all the time, they just bimble along beside me at my pace, putting in a lot less effort than me.  Seems fine, we are all happy campers.
If they naffed off ahead or pushed me too hard, then they either have to wait, not my fault, or we find other people to ride with.
OP, it sounds like you might be in a kind of club rather than a friend group, which to me is an awful idea anyway, just ride with your mates who will be more considerate of the social aspect.
EG I know that the ebikers do their own thing and hit a lot more descents when not with us regular guys, and sometimes on climbs with us they will say, ooh we are off to do that extra run xyz, will meet you acoustic fellows at the top. How is any of this an issue?

I think it would be of help to prospective purchases if they could benefit from others experience as to how they load their bikes/kit with tips and photos.

Would it help anyone, would anyone be interested

    YES

As a once minor whistleblower I can tell you that its a waste of time, you will be investigated by some of the people you have accused, they will find all your “crimes” and in the end you will leave or be pushed, you will wish you had just left.

    My advice?
Find another job. Leave on great terms, tell everyone how much you will miss them and get a great reference.
This may not be very good for the company, the clients or your coworkers, but it will be good for you.

(EDIT, I have now read everyone elses comments, and they all seem to agree)

We are on a Toyota ProAce having had the Citroen Spacetourer before that. These vans are great.

Are they they same van but different badges?

Here is an LWB one good value. This could be just the ticket.

Jeez that Vito is expensive! I guess they’re in short supply at the moment.

There was ajump during covid that has not come back down, I started looking in late 2019, planning to buy in spring 2020.Prices looked much lower than now.
When covid came I waited thinking we may not be able to do much driving anyway, and suddenly its 2023 and everything is 4 or 5k sharper.

Thanks for rack and estate suggestions, however I’ve done bike rack and trailer on various long trips, and I am done with it. If buying a bigger vehicle turns out to be a mistake, well thats my issue to live with.
    Viano’s look good.
What about peugeot, vauxhall, citroen, and ford, all cheaper? Are they less reliable than a merc?
