There are 2 versions of the ATA, one with 2 valves and one with just the one. I think (buy could very easily be wrong,) that the 55’s with just the 1 valve were OEM kit, and automatically put air in to both sides of the cartridge.
On my 55’s that I sent back to Windwave last year they uprated them to coils. So who knows what you have now?
Speak to the guys there, I have to say the service they gave me was nothing short of spectacular, my hat is off to them.5AMFree MemberThe soldering on a CLP 315 is no longer required as chips are now available, however this is one of the printers that Samsung keeps firmware upgrading to lock out aftermarket cartridges.
Best thing is just not to accept any updates.5AMFree MemberBreatheasy dependant on where you are located i might be worth you visiting a Cartridge World store. I sell to a large number of them, and the staff in those stores know 10 x more than the kids in say Currys or PC world. There is a store locator on their head office website..
Don’t have much experience of the CLP-320 as it’s not one we have an aftermarket product for yet. I would imagine it must be relatively high on the company R and D list as I get the impression it has been a reasonable seller worldwide, I don’t however know the incription level on the chips so can’t even give a vague ETA on this, I would suggest 6 months minimum..
And happy to help 🙂
5AMFree MemberHi, which Samsung model is it you are looking at on Amazon?
If you think you may end up going for after market cartridges Samsung certainly don’t make it easy these days, and the frequent firmware updates (that do pretty much nothing except lock-out aftermarket cartridges) are a bit of a pain.
A small laser can be a great solution for printing out documents rather than pictures, and the little Samnsung’s are as good as any if you plan to stick with OEM cartridges.
The Dell 1320c as recommended by Mightymarmite is a great little machine if you can get your hands on one. Small (2,000 page yield,) hasn’t had any firmware issues with after-market, re-manufactured cartridges are readily available, but the quality as with most of these smaller lasers will never be the same as ink. (I use one in the office on a daily basis from printing invoices etc no problem.)
Others I could recommend
HP CP 1215 (1200 pages black, 1000 colours cartridge code CB540a, CB541a, CB542a, CB543a)
The replacement for it
HP CP 1025 (1200 pages black, 1000 colours. Although you might not be able to find remanufactured cartridges for this easily now, my company has released the products and they will be across the market place very swiftly.)
HP CP 2025 if you want something a little larger (3500 pages Black, 2800 colours. )Obviously I could go on and on, but feel free to pick my brains on particular models.
Please bear in mind page yields are based on an industry standard of 5% print per page.
If it interests you for either financial or environmental reasons the re-manufacturing industry has come on a long way in the last 10 years, all our product for instance are quality guaranteed. As I have discovered since coming in to the industry having the latest printer is not always the best thing as it can take 12-18 months for after-market to become available.
For big HP inkjets although ridiculously expensive produce unmatched print quality, so horses for courses.
And to answer the other 2 of your questions, no the laser doesn’t churn out anything nasty (I can provide you MSDS, or Reach compliance on dozens of different toners to quell your fears if needed.)
Yes you can put photo paper through them, and you will still see improved quality although not as marked as ink on to paper.5AMFree MemberThe 364’s will work fine once the chip is changed, we’ve sold them by the 1000. Each machine has slightly different coding so they all work in different ways with regard to ink levels locking them out etc etc.
Laser is more my area if I’m honest, but happy to try and help out if I can.
5AMFree MemberIf you are asking me, the full set is 5 cartridges.
Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Photo Black.
5AMFree MemberTroutie dealing in inks and toners is what I do for a living.
I can sell you a full set of 364 (after market rather than OEM,) for £15 delivered if you want.
The only thing is you need to take the chip off the old cartridge to put on to the new cartridge as our technical haven’t managed to “crack” the coding on this one just yet. (Won’t be a problem for a man of your talents, and instructions are provided.)
Just so you know that it’s not some tin-pot company I am working for our website is http://www.uninetimaging.com and we trade in over 50 countries.
I deal B2B normally but will help if I can.
5AMFree MemberLink above to the Samsung 1860 I can tell you cannot be re manufactured yet; in fact at the moment it’s probably a good idea to stay away from Samsung and Lexmark lasers as their coding on the chips is proving a nightmare to “crack.”
5AMFree MemberBe wary of buying the latest all singing all dancing printers if you think you may like to use re manufactured cartridges (either because they are greener or cheaper.)
There is normally a time delay of about 6-12 months before re manufacturing is possible, also the OEM’s are making it harder all the time.
Really you need to decide if you want a laser or ink printer, and of course how much you are likely to be printing.5AMFree MemberKeeping my eyes peeled for you Sarah, and don’t forget I’m only around the corner if you need me.
We’ll get you back on the trails somehow never fear.
5AMFree MemberMmmm I was really hoping to go out straight after work at about 18:30.
I guess I may just have to leave it until tomorrow then, or perhaps try and catch someone from the FC and ask if they are happy for me to go out.But now seeing thisisnotaspoon’s post perhaps I can 🙂
5AMFree MemberSteve17 if you see this and would like a riding partner drop me an email at samfinch1 AT yahoo.co.uk
Currently living in Reading, but I’m moving to Basingstoke in the next couple of months.
Sounds like we are probably at fairly similar levels too.5AMFree MemberQuinoa is a protein rather than high carb source if that helps, good for muscle building if gyming it.
5AMFree MemberI think it’s a great template, my effort was definitely a lot more “botch” than this 😳
5AMFree MemberBest thing would be to go for a skills session with Tony (Jedi) if you can afford to.
Since mine I’ve done a few drops like that, and I certainly wouldn’t have attempted them before. (I still have to mentally build myself up to them each time though 😀 )5AMFree MemberI have these and they were converted under warranty by Windwave to coil. No problems since at all.
Give Windwave a call, the service I received from them was exceptionally good and I am sure they will help if they can.
5AMFree MemberI went to Chicksands yesterday for the 1st time and have to say I thought it was great.
5AMFree MemberIf you are talking about doing a detailed design using a brush I would use the same paint as a pin-striper does for cars. “One shot” I think it’s called.
5AMFree MemberSurprised no-one has mentioned the Norco Fluid or the Fluid LT (may be called something else this year.)
5AMFree Membersome of the stuff here is artificial. It’s designed and built to be ridden and to help address certain issues / skills. If the techniques / skills, etc have been taught well then they’re easily transfered over to someones more usual terrain
I couldn’t agree more.
Yes Jedi could also take you somewhere more natural, but then you would also end up wasting half your day moving from one feature to the next.I can’t sing Tony’s praises enough, your wife and her friend wouldn’t regret going to UK Bike skills for a minute.
5AMFree MemberIt might take you a few hours but go to Herts and see Jedi @ UK bike skills. I can’t say enough about how he has improved my riding, and I’ll definitely be going back.
If I could afford to I’d be there getting coaching every other month!
5AMFree MemberYou can get new seals and pistons from CRC for £9.99, I’ve just had to do the same myself. 🙄
5AMFree MemberI had a similar experience not long ago, and feeling disorientated and overwhelmed is not unusual I don’t think.
Just take things at a pace that is suitable for you, and talking to someone probably will help. For what it’s worth my condolences, and try to remember the good times.
5AMFree MemberExploring and just finding hidden gems/getting lost is part of the fun when you first go there.
If you really feel that want a bit of direction all the locals I’ve ever met are more than happy to point you in the right direction. 😀 😀To the those that created the new track by the Stickler, I rode it for the first time yesterday and all I can say is great job. Worth the waiting time for it to bed it, and I can’t believe how much you managed to get done. Thank you very much
5AMFree MemberI’ve lived in Reading for the last 17 years, and have to be honest I really enjoy it.
There are good places and bad places to live, but these can even be at different ends of the same street.
If you are going to be driving to Newbury daily then I’d think about Tilehurst/Calcot as its close to junction 12 and accessible to both the M4 and town when you need to.
If you’d like to know more PM or email me and we can have a chat if you want.5AMFree MemberAshton court sounds perfect with it’s current “Magenta” grading as I can drag the gf along and she won’t feel out of her depth. Is 50 Acre wood in the same area?
Also anyone have the postcode of the car park so I know where to head for. Thanks in advance.
5AMFree MemberSo is there some good riding nearby if I come across from Reading for the day?
5AMFree MemberPossibly the outer being too short underneath the bottom bracket.
As the suspension compresses the shifter cable gets pulled tighter around the BB as it’s acting as the pivot point, hence the ghost shift.
Definitely a possible as I’ve had the same thing before myself.
5AMFree MemberTrailseeker can you send me pics and a price to samfinch1 AT yahoo.co.uk
and if rotors etc are included, as I could definitely be interested. Also other suggestions are good, especially the German sites as for some reason I hadn’t thought to look there.
5AMFree MemberJedi must have skipped the bit with me where he teaches you to ride like an idiot!!
(Probably a skill I already have naturally 🙁 )I fail to see how Jedi even gets his name mentioned here, this is certainly not his fault. 🙄
5AMFree MemberIf in doubt send them to Windwave, the service I have had from them in the past is nothing short of excellent.
If they are 55 ATA then no it’s not normal, the 2008/09 are known to have issues and can be converted to coil which IMO solves all the problems and leaves you with a lovely plush fork.
5AMFree MemberWell the medium is £144 for starters, but still seems good value.
I have a carbon Giro Remedy that can be had for about the same money which is great.
I also have a Fox Rampage but would definitely not advise if you have chubby cheeks. Great value helmet for both protection and looks.5AMFree MemberAll I can say is a lesson with Tony is worth every penny, and having been to Herts shore I would recommend the venue to get the maximum from your lesson.
Tony has obviously worked hard to make sure he has all the required “tools” are to hand to help with your progression, so this is turn saves wasted time and energy. As for going there camping it certainly looks like it would be fun, and as long as Tony is still ok with it I know that I’ll be visiting and doing that in the not too distant future.
(Tony I did a couple of 4 foot drops at the weekend and couldn’t stop grinning. General flow and cornering also vastly improved. Thanks again.)
5AMFree MemberMountain Trax I have visited in the past and it just seems to be staffed by kids all the time, so I’m a little unsure of that suggestion. They do have some lovely shiney bits though 😆
Pedal On is a new one on me though, so will have a visit.
Thanks for the info.
5AMFree MemberThese seem to have shot up in price, but if you can afford to wait a few days try buying from Germany.
A 2 sec search on ebay.de found them for €70 and I know when I asked a company last year they only wanted €10 for shipping.5AMFree MemberWell I’m certainly looking forward to getting out this weekend and putting some of the new techniques in to practice.
Just have to not try too much in one go 🙄5AMFree MemberDefinitely take it out for a proper ride before bringing it back, and don’t get it too spotlessly clean before bringing it back in would get my vote.
Should then be fairly safe, especially if not being carried in a brand new bike bag.
5AMFree MemberSwinley is the same, especially around the Labyrinth. I picked up 2 shopping bags of rubbish back in Jan, and was back there a couple of weeks ago and it was twice as bad.
Completely agree with take it in carry it out, if it carrys on the way it is we might as well just ride at the local tip.
