    Slow cooked beef madras… awesome.

I just follow my regular beef madras recipe and once the ingredients are up to temp in the pan replace cook for x mins in the pan for cook for y hours on low in the slow cooker.

y = a bit of hit & miss depending on how much food in in slow cooker, how big the slow cooker is & how damn hungry you are with the awesome smell of beef madras wafting through the house

    I went from 65kg to 71kg in 9 months

ok it doesn’t seem like a lot, but in the previous 30 years of being a 10 stone weakling it’s one hell of a shock, especially as it’s a beer belly & I hardly drink these days.

Oh hang on, it must be cake, it’s a cake belly.

Phew I feel a bit better now, it’s only cake, 6kg of cake.

Good luck finding a Cube 29er in stock, Cube themselves sold out of almost every 29er they had months ago! No 29er GTC SL’s available to order from Cube at all for the rest of the year

Cube do offer excellent value for money bikes, hence selling out of the 29ers so soon

The Reaction GTC SL 26er is in stock with Cube (according to my latest info) so should be no availability issues in any size

I’m on my 2nd Cube in 2 years, it’s a bit different to what you’re after, but it’s a great bit of kit & I know the Reaction range is highly regarded by those who ride them

Feel free to email me if you want any more info

I have the week off too… yay!

Recovery from surgery meaning no riding (of any kind) for another 5 weeks.. booo!

At least I have time to ponder which shiny new parts I’ll be using on my latest project ;)

Currently own a 1995 Marin Team Titanium with 1×9 drivetrain & 2010 RS Sids

Love the ride quality & zing that this bike has, it’s so quick (even with me powering it) and comfortable

Shame the frame, forks, original White Industries cranks & wheels are going up for sale soon, but a new project is coming!

And for retro electronic, how about OMD – Architecture and Morality? Just listen to Georgia. Superb!

Georgia is possibly my favourite OMD track, the whole A&M album is pure quality.

OMD’s Dazzle ships is an acquired taste but very interesting to listen to

Streetsounds albums take me back to my yoof with a square of lino & a can of Mr Sheen

Depeche Mode: Violator, a quality bit of electronic pop

New Order: Power, Corruption & Lies, superb album

So many excellent albums have already been posted up it’s hard not to re list them (leftfield, massive attack, 808 state, chem. bros. etc…)

Not had any issues with the Park Tool Super Patches in many years of usage

Weldtite Red Devil patches are utter garbage though

Recorded delivery only shows up on tracking when it’s delivered! Pretty useless really for tracking, but you do know when it’s been delivered.

Pop into the post office you sent it from, they may be able to offer advice on what to do next

Cube don’t place stickers there, all the decals are paint on Cube’s

There is a downtube protection sticker on all Cube’s, but it starts much lower down the frame

If it is a sticker it’s been put on by the shop or the owner

If it’s a crack it’s warranty time & back to the shop you got it from

Simon emailed me last night. Thanks for the help Simon, I’ll be in touch again soon.

I would ring, but it’s easier to email for me as the phones at work are always busy so I get hardly any time at all during the day to make calls, especially personal calls.

As for servicing them myself, it’s having the time to do it. I have several bikes that need general maintenance from last year, only just cleaned one up and made it good to go!

Did you get my enquiry about my Reba’s with the dodgy rebound that need a service, sent via your contact us page about a week ago?

I’ve had no reply from you yet

It’s not a difficult frame to find parts for, plenty of stuff will fit it.

142mm x12 hubs are an evolution of a standard 135mm hub & although relatively new plenty of options available

The Stereo is a good frame to build up into an AM bike

Your friends have very little patience or knowledge by the sound of it (not meaning to be harsh but that is how your post comes across to me)

As far as I know & DT Swiss website says you can get an X12 X1600 so the DT X1600 hubs should be convertible to X12.

You should just need a conversion kit, I don’t know if another brand of conversion kit will work on DT’s stuff

I would contact DT Swiss to confirm this though

Until last month I had a wheelset that would have worked, Sun Ringle hubs (OE stuff from a Cube Sting) sold em though when I upgraded to OE Cube DT CPW 1200 wheels (based on the XRC 1350 wheelset)

    I’m 5’9″ and ride 18″ Cube’s

Great value for money, well built & good handling (fairly neutral)

I do know that Cube’s distro centre is out of stock of 2012 18″ Analog’s at the mo, if the shop you were in doesn’t have one they probably won’t be able to get one.

However I think that my local Premier Cube dealer may have them in stock, if you can’t get one locally try JC Cook Cycles in Grimsby, they will send you one out if your LBS can’t get one

There is another forum (shock horror!) that I use, it has a feedback forum

It’s very useful seeing users feedback when deciding whether or not to buy from them

But there have been instances where excellent feedback has been left (and several pages of it) and the person in question has done disappearing act with folks cash (paypal gift), not answered emails, or phone calls.

Eventually (months later in some cases) things were sorted out but it just goes to show that lots of good feedback does not a great seller make.

As always it’s trust your own judgement

I got burned on this forum when something was paid for by me & didn’t turn up, months later I did get a refund though.

I never use paypal gift or bank transfers any more after that, it’s paypal with the fees paid by me, at least that way you have some form of insurance.

I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis 18 years ago

I take painkillers and anti inflammatory tablets daily

I do get aches and pains

I do get good and bad days

I will not let it stop me doing the things I enjoy & love

Wait and see what the Dr says, there are plenty of ways to help those who suffer with arthritis

Different things work for different people and symptoms

Until you know exactly what the problem is you won’t really know which will work for you

KMC chains come with their own powerlink

Pretty much any chain will take a powerlink

Which KMC? whichever is in your budget, they’re all good

A near catalogue spec 1993 KHS Montana Pro

    I’ve been Jedi’d

I just used what I would do on a normal ride

OK it was a brand new bike but all the usual kit was used (SPD’s, camelbak, clothing, all was my normal riding stuff)

No point in doing something differently for that one day then reverting back to your usual stuff

I just went and rode my bike with a top fella who gave me a few pointers on how to ride smoother and faster

(in context I’d been single for a while, best thing that happened to me this year was meeting my GF, even though I’ve been all over the country with my bike those trips weren’t the highlight, it’s a very close second though!)

Slightly different bike & post here, Cube Sting (very similar frame) and X-Fusion HiLo dropper post

I’ll be mounting mine along the top tube with zip ties and Helitape under the points where it’s attached once I get round to it

I was hoping to piggyback the downtube cabling/hose routing but the remote cable isn’t long enough, so until I decide to lengthen it (can you fit longer hose to a Reverb?) it’s going under the top tube.
