Does the manufacturer offer a crash damage reduced cost replacement scheme?

Lucky you heard it go, could have been a bit nasty that one.

BBB Turnaround is very good value, sealed cartridge bearings, well made, looks good, available in lots of different types and in silver or black.

It will be my standard headset of choice when any of my other bikes needs a new headset.

Phone them up, harder to ignore a phone than an email

They should replace the shoes or offer a refund

Surgeons are considering amputating his left hand is what I’ve managed to gleam from t’web

Hope it doesn’t come to that, at least he’s not in a life threatening condition.

Would be a great loss to F1 if he cannot continue to compete

HA depends on the A to C of both forks rather than the actual travel.

If both forks have the same A to C then no change

if it’s different roughly 1 deg slacker HA with every 10mm longer

holy crap, serious brown trousers time.

If you got any info (co. name, reg no etc) from the offending vehicle report it to the police. Although I’m thinking you didn’t have time to get any info, but if you did….

Sometimes the grease gets too sticky and the pawls get stuck in the open position

Flush the shifter with WD40, GT85 or some other light spray lube to thin the grease out, it may come back to life after a while if you keep shifting & spraying.

Bought a Hatchbag just before Christmas, very good bit of kit.

Bootliner with 60/40 split, heavy duty rubber mat & bumper flap delivered for under £130 for my Ibiza

Just a boot liner on it’s own is about £80 if you’re on a budget, but the split back, rubber matting and bumper flap are very useful add ons to have.

    http://www.cubebikeshop.co.uk/epages/es137350.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es137350/Categories/Bikes/Womens_MTB_Full_Suspension

There are those compulsive collector types in all walks of life, I don’t really get it either!

BTW I hope you don’t think I wasn’t coming across as defensive/aggressive, it was just a simple question, I wondered if you’d been on such a large ride, it’s chaotic fun to say the least isn’t it.

Hmm, get out & ride bikes instead of creating museum pieces…

Well 46 Retrobike riders were out on their bikes a couple of weekends ago at Thetford.

Have you been on a ride with that many riders before that wasn’t a race or timed challenge?

I got some proper sick to the power of rad air once, that’s the sickest I’ve ever felt.

ahh, not quite what you meant…

Apart from squirting fluid out of both ends simultaneously at high velocity due to food poisoning, I guess I’ve been pretty lucky.

druidh the Peter Storm one I’ve almost destroyed was wind proof, the Montane isn’t the sort of thing I’m after, it’s far too technical looking & not my style at all, I have plenty of technical waterproof jackets, just need something casual to keep me warm whilst pottering about in

Anything more specific than UniQlo? They don’t seem to do the sort of thing I’m after.

    something more like:

I have an ancient Peter Storm fleece, but that’s really tatty now. I have no idea what’s good value/quality in fleeces nowadays.

I lost my Dad last August, he was only 67.

It’s very strange not having those who you are closest to around any more.

They never leave your heart they will always be there with you wherever you go whatever you do watching over you.

My thoughts go to all those whose lives he was a part of c_g

As tyres are a consumable item I chose a modern equivalent close to what would be available back then I could search for some used Panaracer Smoke tyres which are catalogue spec, or Psycho’s or any other tyre from back then but I’d rather have new rubber on the wheels rather than some perished old tyres, I’d not buy NOS ones either, the bike’s a rider not a Garage Queen, so no NOS parts for me, it would be wasted on the bike.

I may have found a shorter stem too, plus the original bars!

1st ride was today at Thetford, around 23 miles in total, the tyres were perfect for the conditions, they are quite fast rolling & grip well, the front didn’t wash out once & the rear just gave traction whenever I needed it.

The bike is lovely to ride, sharp handling, quick accelerating, nimble and deals with a bit of air pretty well, it’s also pretty comfortable even sat on the nose of the saddle for most of the ride. That shorter stem can’t come quick enough though, the saddle is at it’s forward limit on the rails already!
