Thanks all for the replies, Rich thats what I used, just halfords branded, not impressed at all.
I think it will either be the jetboil, or my new favorite seems to be the Primus eta power ef, its cheaper ;o)
Anyone know of a decent discount stockist of either?
    Thanks again everyone!

Tanks Paul & DH, but for simplicity I wanted to stick to the small gas canisters my BBQ takes, quick & easy to change, I like easy ;)

FFS, its a forum, strangely dominated by men, maybe just maybe because there are more men then women who actually mountain bike?

If the women want equality & to vote, then so be it, but I think in this case they may find themselves outnumbered, & hence on the loosing side ;)

I just want to know what ‘IT’ actually is, as some one said above, its a broad spectrum that covers the world & his wife 8O

Oh, & seeing how I can use a keyboard, how much would one have to earn to clear £50k PA?

I prefer the Cobra to the Becks (which tastes metallic to me), caliber is awful, ‘bitburger drive’ was highly recommended on forums, but I find it very ‘dusty’ tasting, so far the cobra wins, a bit sweet, but very smooth & drinkable if very chilled, rather like a nice cup of char in reverse ;)

TJ, so I get to pay *up to* 40p of every pound I earn in tax, I then have to pay a further 15% of that pound when I spend it (which is really 70p-15%=59.5p).
Another £30 is no problem, why not another 10% of my earnings?
I have no idea why people who earn real money technically live off shore :(

Sorry, not really aimed at you, I know someone has to pay for the care, but just how much taxation can we take?

Another Sebo user here, we use a Henry at work, & always have done for the last 20+ years, I think we are on our third, & that makes them the toughest out there!
Henry’s are crude though, I wouldn’t use one in the house, Sebo’s are just very well designed & work well, what more could you ask?

CG, emotional yes, but really, do you not think you would not want to see your time out?
I have a very elderly ‘friend’ & I can only say that as the help she requires presents a bigger burden on the rest of us, the more I want her to hit the ton.
She came from an age that most of us don’t know/respect, dignity comes first.

I see you do indeed pick & choose in your response’s, I’ll draw my own conclusions from that.

robdob, think for a moment, chainsuck is only a problem once the chain continues to stay attached to the drive ring once it has past its lowest point.
So something is making the chain stay attached, what do you think makes it stay attached, the frames magnetic properties?

Anyway, if we can’t increase girth as per sheldon brown to combat the problem, why can’t we increase the wheelbase a few MM?

TJ, do you also pick & choose who you feel worthy of a response?
shortbread_fanylion’s post was worthy, why no reply?

Out of interest as Brant is on, why can’t we just space the rear hub & increase the BB to suit wider tyres?

I know we are talking about yet another new industry standard, but they are always changing anyway, so why not one more?

If you have a new drive train, then really it can only be the lube at fault?
Bike design accentuates a problem, but surely the problem is the underlying cause?

I used to have issues with my ‘original’ stiffee. (some have the same issues with the hummer)
I think I have been around long enough to work out that all frames designed for 2.5-2.7 tyres will have problems with chain clearance, hence the suck in British conditions.

Unless rear wheels are spaced further apart & BB are made wider then I think the best idea is to stay with ‘normal’ tyres.

TJ, It does pain me, but I think I feel for your situation.
To many people want decent care & decent pensions, but are unwilling to pay significant taxes to pay for it.
Anyway. I won’t dwell on the bad points, but I do admire anyone who works for the NHS, or are employed by contractors that cream the profit for others hard work, but such is the way of sub contracting/tendering.

    Good on you.

Think it would be bad form to pick his brains and not buy from him

cheers for the heads up though.

Thats the best post I’ve seen on here for ages, very true & very refreshing to see in this day & age.

It is indeed brave of you to post on here, but sort the wheat from the chaff, & you have a good starting point.
Keep positive, getting down will help no one, not least yourself.

I have no idea what I would do in your situation, my head tells me I would just up & leave knowing I’d get shafted in court anyway, but my heart tells me I would just stay for the kids.

Either way its a tough call, I hate to say it, but I’m glad its not me.

Best of luck mate, & if you need a release then organise a ride, I’d come.
    Cheers.

I can tell the difference between walkers & Smiths salt & shake, walkers are softer, more of an oily taste, Smiths must have been cooked a little longer in a good old fashioned unhealthy oil which I’m immune to ;)

I love riding alone, the P&Q, the views, the challenge, not worrying if I’m slowing people down etc.
I like getting out with mates every now & again for the social craic, but when I’m by myself I really feel as if I’m making the most of my ‘me’ time.

1, threaten to cancel, a new box should be free, but be prepared to walk, I did, non stop calls afterwards offering a new box & 6 months half price subsription.

2, are tiscalli really that good, surely free is better?

3, buy a second hand box for peanuts, if your prepared to collect from herts you can have my old one for free.

    Cheers.

Cheers BD, sounds about right knowing how some people ask for stuff to be invoiced. But I think most of the lucky recipients are registered charities.

My daughter has one (God that makes me feel old) the Ds lite games work fine, Internet is great (she has stopped hogging the laptop) & she has a lot of fun with the graffiti on the camera.
We got it half price when we traded the DS in at game.

    Have fun.

Tis funny, one mans scales against another’s!
I have a double butted Ti HT with reba WC’s, carbon bits Inc SDG carbon post & FX saddle, 350g tyres, Ti BB, Ti freehub, egg beaters etc, my scales say 22lb & I’m happy with that.

‘Birds’ has fecked me for life, 28 years later I still don’t like birds in enclosed spaces , I was about 10 or 11 when I watched those seagulls go down the zipwire into the phone box!

That & tales of the unexpected, some of those were scary for a pre pubescent, but later on…

But do you have a non OEM one?
I used to have both before they went ‘SL’, & they are very different in terms of padding & coverings, are the new ones the same?

I agree its a bit boring, but you can’t start the fastest from the back, how would it work?

I mean the team discussion goes like this…
Team leader A, we need to start at the front to give us a chance of winning.

Team driver A, but we need to be slowest in qualifying to do that.

Team leader A, I know that, so we don’t bother in qualifying!

Team driver A, wouldn’t of all the others have thought of that?

Team leader A, no, I’m the cleverest person in F1!

I see your plan, more cunning than a cunning thing that’s cunning, genius, coffee anyone?
