I’ve gone back to a slack 26″ wheeled bike myself, I felt a bit perched on the Titus, especially after the trip to Woburn, see forum history for details 🙂

I have just done the same with a rear 142×12 to 135×9, got the conversion kit through the LBS as Extra uk don’t deal direct, I ended up emailing CB in the US for the correct part number as Extra gave me the wrong part number which turned out to be a QR skewer, not a cheap thing do do at £35 for two cups 🙁

I have tied a modern 29er Ti frame & I would rather have a 26″ wheeled bike for proper off road stuff, I’m sure there is a reason they were as popular for as long as they were 😉

Several frames, including a carbon FS frame, or maybe the dropper post that fits it!

Didn’t hope do different spiders for different applications?
My memory is fading but I know I have two very different spiders on the sets I have, if my memory serves correctly one of them is much more dished than the other, probably to space it away from the BB more, what is the problem you are having?

I should be going to the Sapcote trading estate in the next couple of days so I would be willing to take a look if it’s not to far from there & the traffic is not a nightmare as it often is.
You can email me the details if you want to keep it off forum.

Bloody glorious day, no riding for me but a 12 mile dog walk was the order of the day with a pub lunch, just got back & I left at 11.30!
My legs are feeling it though 🙁

I still love the look of that seatpost, proper retro. I used to have a Slayer of that vintage, great bike.

Just posting to say thanks to timb34, I did indeed order it from alltricks in the end as it was the only place that showed stock, turned up today so I test fitted it before putting it back in it’s box until Xmas 🙁

I had the same dilemma recently & I ended up buying an Ellesworth momentum frame from freeborn as it was very cheap (£400), it’s a 100mm slopestyle frame so pretty slack, I have a lot of post showing (see forum history) but the angles seem fun. I’ve not ridden it yet so I won’t say it’s great, but I know what angles I’m after & I reckon this will work as a fun bike.

    Cheers.

Out of interest how much do cheap 150mm 26″ FS carbon frames go for, 2,3 or £400? What’s the cheapest you have seen?

Don’t blame Ford, all car manufacturers do it to save weight so they can save fuel to meet regs, oh & most offer a full size spare as cost option, so blame the idiot that didn’t spec it 😉

RC31’s (yes they are 440mm), Thomson 70mm & Easton flat carbons cut to 690mm, quite steep but quite quick on non technical XC stuff.

    Cheers.

Thanks for that but I didn’t want to order from abroad given dropper post reliability issues.

I’m surprised no one has the same detail of chamfered edges that mine have, basically that means that the upper & lower ceiling plasterboard is at an angle rather than 90 degrees to the window, it allows in a lot more light at little heat loss, I wonder why?

I run 5 fully electric with electric blinds (had shutters with them to but I didn’t want them as they are fugly) & TBH it’s a bit of a gimmick apart from the one in the bathroom which I would want to be electric, the remotes are fab & yes you do use them, but I wouldn’t miss the functionality if they were always closed apart from the bathroom one which helps to dissipate the condensation/steam/smell far better than just a window alone 😉

(PS the wall mounted remote I have is fully programmable for separate rooms/ windows/ blinds etc & can be removed so you can take it anywhere & put back in its holder for safe keeping, its a wonderful bit of kit)

This should be OK for Thetford

I bought one of the NOS Momentum’s to use for a trail bike, not finished building it up yet, & yes that is a strange amount of seatpost showing but other than that I think it looks quite nice 😉

Hora, you must realise as a dog owner that the absolute worse thing you could do would be to pick the dog up? that just means the other dog has won & will continue to portray it’s superiority until you kick it?

I’m fed up with dog owners not understanding dog behaviour, they aren’t clever animals, their senses are much higher than ours & they will sense danger a fair way off.
Oh, & if you have a little dog then the best form of defence will be attack unless you own a non dog! 😉

The answer to the question the OP is asking it’s RUN, RUN NOW, RUN AS HARD AS YOU CAN as the question was never about the friend, it was about the OP.
And TBH I would be exactly the same, those that can handle the amount of need these people require deserve a medal pay rise!

Just a quick update on how the build is going, this pic from quite low down shows the amount of seatpost showing, how long the reach is & the angles with a 120mm fork.

    Cheers.
