I’ll bite, how much do you want for it, any games?

I see there have been a few threads on this subject recently. I have just bought (from ebay as it was cheap’ish) a Vent Axia 4″ wall mount jobbie with a humidistat that has a constant run which increases when it senses humidity (obviously), the difference in the air in the small downstairs extra bathroom is amazing, but I can’t help but worry that as the thing is constantly extracting air for which I have paid to heat up I’m then paying more through way of heating bills let alone the small cost of the continually running fan, am I wrong?

Cheers.

Edit, here is the link to the ebay one for £60 & here it is on VA’s site for £228.

I have found a pic of the bikes, but I have also realised that you probably have a standard hight roof so it won’t work if you have 🙁

I have a L shape of kitchen units from the door in to the house & along the the wall to the outer door ending where the toolbox’s start, this may give you an idea of the set up

Snap-on box by Martin Robbo, on Flickr

The three bikes hang above the units nearest the internal door & I have a shelving unit & things like the lawn mower opposite the long run of units, this has enough space to keep another bike ( you can just see it in that pic), or move the bike & use that space for the bike workstand which does make it a little tight but do-able.

If you’re into old UK based man caves then have a look at this

Cool shit

I used to deliver papers on this street back in the 80’s & know it well, much cooler than the standard air shelters & gun emplacements in the area.

If you want to see the sole converted residential property then see the pdf here or search seafield house NW7.

Does that really matter to people? I just have freeview but never remember to watch the HD version of whatever channel im on, and i have a fancy 50″ plasma TV. But then im the sort of person who thinks its just entertainment to pass time but obviously to some people its more than that.

Well yes it does to Sky customers who watch all of their TV via the Sky box, that’s because they actively dumb down the SD channels so idiots people pay to watch the HD content that is freely available on, er, freeview, more of a contention to those that pay for sports in SD though.

I’m a big slipper fan, most only last a few months before they stink to high heaven (I wear them bear feet) but I bought a pair of these THESE in June

And they have been great, they still smell of leather, a minor miracle (second bible reference), I see they now do a fleece lined version so I might put it on the Xmas list (third reference), I believe they are a gift from above at the price (fourth… 😉

Thanks Stato, just ordered one, nice that they dont charge for postage 🙂
The reducer is a Hope one (that you fit your original race on top of) if anyone now cares.

Oh, the roadie, I sincerely hope he gets a mechanical as far away from transport as possible, I didn’t need his help, but FFS if you see a fellow cyclist at the side of the road with the forks off a bike a quick question would be prudent no?

Costco?

Or Snap-on 😉

Halford’s pro ones are ok, half price at least half a dozen times a year.

The thing is I don’t want to sell anything, but space is a problem, I like having a SS, I like having a HT, & a FS for the odd foray, but I don’t really need one of those, it’s the need V’s want that’s getting to me, I would SS the carbon 456, but it would look shite compared the Ti one 😉

Definitely crack. They are about 20% less reliable across the industry, during the life of the car. Not to mention significantly more expensive to fix or replace. And while reliability is improving, repair costs are increasing.

Which is largely offset by the lack of the need to replace clutches every 50-70k miles.

FWIW I have an A3 3.2 DSG, I mean what could possibly go wrong? Long runs give just over 30 MPG, I average 26-7 MPG & I enjoy driving 😛

How about ditching the DPF & EGR & going for an economy map?
They’re are a lot on here that will despise you for it, but I know people who have done it & Mpg has gone from 32 to 46 around town & 50-60 on a run, the way I see it the cost of the extra pollution is outweighed by the carbon footprint of another new car on the road.
cheers.

Yup, crank brothers iodine was the lowest when I was looking some time ago, if you get stuck then I may still have it in the spares box.

I love the way many on here who ask for discount codes or the cheapest place to buy X also have an aversion to cheap food & look down their noses at people who eat it. I know several very (very) wealthy people who wouldn’t think twice about spending £30,000 on a Rolex, & they only eat in the very best places whilst entertaining, but get their shopping from Asda (not delivered obviously) & would have lunch at Mc D’s.
But I do suppose it makes a difference if you want to be seen as superior to all those who spend their money on things they value & are seen to eat cheap food, as opposed to those who like to be seen to have wealth but scrimp & scrape to make the facade seem believable.

We have a Miele & it gets used 3-4 times per day, it’s 8 years old & came with a ten year warranty that I only called apron the other week, a blocked pipe which was clearly not a manufacturing defect but was covered none the less, it did cost me a grand though 😯

Challenging, non confrontationally or not can only end one way surely, I’m thinking it changes things in the way that trust can no longer exist, but I have no idea why she bothered to lie as it made no odds either way 😕

All dogs have traits, just be honest with yourself & make sure that the one you choose doesn’t have one you cant live with. The first BT I got is totally different to the PITA that is the second one, but I love him to bits as he is my soul male company in the house so I forgive him anything 🙂

I’m currently running an Onkyo after a very brief encounter with a really shitty award winning Sony POS that was awful, personally the best I had was a basic 5 channel Denon, but that fell out of the loft when we were having work done & the Onkyo was cheaper than a new Denon, the NAD I had before it was better with music but worse for films.

I thought about this when I did my drive after the council insisted I had more parking after doing an extension to the house , I was adamant I wanted a permeable surface so I opted for gravel, I used the bigger stuff & so far it has been ok, not much transfers to the road/pavement & a treatment of weed killer about twice a year so far has seen it keeping well.

I’m liking the look of that OO in epicyclo’s post, but I would say that the alt bars would be a step to far if you want to retain the speed factor, I tried the Mary’s & the carbon one’s but it was short lived albeit relaxed 😆

Why not keep the road bike & build up a cheap rigid 29er without compromise, then you can choose your weapon ? I have tried several times to build a flat bar cross type bike but then I find myself putting wider tyres one it & embracing the the extra grip over speed.

I replaced an OO Scandal like this

IMG_0301 by Martin Robbo, on Flickr[/img]

With the much more spendy Pegasus like this

IMG_1058 by Martin Robbo, on Flickr[/img]

TBH if I wasn’t a tart I would say the very cheap OO frame was just as light & just as good, but I have to tell you that the Pegasus is better or my head will explode 😉

TBH, I can see your point to a degree, but wheel size makes F all difference, if you asked if there was an appricial difference between say 650 & 700mm+ then I could see your point.

Thanks for calling me a pillock , good luck with the thread.

Edit for the hell of it, what is the contact patch difference between say a 2.3″ 26″ tyre & a 2.3″ 29er tyre?

2unfit2ride

Less force required to turn a smaller wheel quickly. It’s not that daft.

Are you saying that at any point you have struggled to turn the bars on your pushbike? Do you ride in quicksand?

EDIT FWIW, if you struggle to turn then manual & move the front wheel to where you want it to go, or hop & move the whole bike angle.

TBH, 700 on both (29 & 26), I mean how hard can it be to turn a wheel on a push bike?
But I’m going 670 on the next FS 26″ project as that is what I have in the spares bin.

I’m not keen on wide bars, I have tried 740, they get cut to 720, then 710, not less than 700 as I don’t want to look like a freak 😯
But here’s the thing, how did we ride before these magical wide bars? Put in more effort or did we just avoided trees easier?

Do you mean the bike you ride to the pub & leave outside unlocked whilst you partake in a beer or two?

I use an Infinity with my Eggs, not really small but looks good under the telly & it’s slim enough to get away with it, a vast improvement over the bulkier kef 5″ centre I was using before & I don’t notice to tonal difference but that may just be me.

Ok , but my definition of a 12 degree flat bar looks like this, a totally different shape?

otsdr, thanks for the link, you posted seconds before I hit reply, but to you & everyone else, it still looks like a riser bar to me, any riser bar rotated back enough would surely become 0 rise?
