Not really but the M1 at 7.30am is not that conducive to booting it

Edit for Hora, quite a subtle noise but not that worrying if you heard it without the warning lamp, most people ignore it as there really isn’t any reports of them snapping, but having driven it before & after it is now much smoother & faster (timing is now back to where it should be), the DSG box is a lot less snatchy & the initial MPG has improved, 31 last night & 29 this morning, got stuck in traffic tonight & it was 27 with a bit of progress on NSL back roads to miss the worst of it.

Well for those that care, & given the current DSG thread I thought I’d update.

Despite the engine check light initially going out it returned, changed the other cam sensor, then the crank sensor, it came back :(

So I have just had the timing chain replaced (which was indeed stretched) at a cost of £700 with lots of trade discount, now the waterpump is making a noise, so new pump & belt next week, but that’s only going to cost me about £70 & a meal out.
Average MPG is 26 over about 9000 miles, I also changed the springs back to normal ones as the H&R were to harsh, so what started as a ‘cheap hack’ now stands me about £5000, but hopefully it’s now sorted & I will get many more miles without further cost.

    I hope…

    Cheers.

I was just about to post about this, saw it above NW7 twice this afternoon, very distinctive sound, at first I though it was a Chinook approaching but it’s quite different, on its way to Northolt maybe?

RD, try messaging Aus, he asked if I wanted to sell back the Pegasus I bought from him last year, you may have to drop your asking price though.

    Cheers.

I keep a few frames, but only one built up bike I don’t use, it’s a Pipedream triple butted Ti SS & rigid, last time. I tried to sell it I was offered £1000 if I changed the wheels for some others I had knocking about, what a muppet I was

I agree with a lot of the comments re blaming etc & I also agree that the Boardman looks stonking value so I shall be recommending that to him.

Ive been having trouble with a slow leak, changed the tape & valves last night, I done the valves up tighter with some needle nose pliers. Got the tyres seated & they are still at full pressure this morning* :D

Jedi (UK bike skills) from here’s bikes are always really heavy to loft as they are built for a said purpose, but they feel really light to ride, it amazes me every time I get on one of his bikes just how well set up & easy to ride they are.

You’re right, obviously, but stiffer feels better to me, that’s why I asked, I never said I was right

Also look at the angle of the wall as the pics were taken in different locations, the fork is 14mm lower AC.

I recently went through this, although I have to do it as part of my job anyway, I was hit from behind whilst stationary & the bumper was damaged, I claimed for a new bumper as I didn’t want it filled only to crack at the slightest future knock. I was told they couldn’t authorise it but I could claim for whiplash & a hire car that I hadn’t asked for 8O
    The world has gone bonkers!

Edit due to Jujuuk68 massive & informative post, you have the right to go to adjudication if you don’t like what you are offered & you will win if they can’t prove that the money offered will provide a like for like replacement.

For me, as mentioned above, are the people who ask for your advice & then ignore it. It wouldn’t be so bad if it was just the once, but having spent hours on phone calls, emails & research it’s heartbreaking, & this happens a lot to me

Totally skimmed this thread so feel free to shot me, but…

When buying a car do you care about any of the things below, I’ll reverse the order for the stupid ;)

    1, Image
    2, Value
    3, Comfort
    4, residuals

(feel free to rearrange the above)

*, Some idiots that can’t distinguish between what they want to what they want to pay

5, the car to be a nice drive before the above

If the answer is 5 then the BMW, if it’s * then I give up, any above that then ask a forum ;)

As others, liked it but for the ending, made me laugh how long it took for the armed response to get there, but 10 seconds later the 30 police had the place cordoned off & the ambulance service were fully in attendance, at least The Night Manager was all James bond from the beginning ;)

I had some Black Sheep Ti & I wasn’t that happy with them, to flexy in the steering sense, but also pretty flexy in a good way for bumps. It’s horses for courses but some times flexy isn’t that good.
