stick with the carbon post, it will have a bit more give than Thomson,

I thought that too, but then I thought a direct shock straight down would be better than a lesser shock with leverage???

Who knows, but that’s the question right?

I asked a similar question a while back, have a quick read & see if it helps you HERE

Oh & I never fitted the one I bought so I can’t comment any further.

    Cheers.

Pop into one of the many LBS’s, funny you call yourself waspsnest, Marshalls cycles had a MTB group called wasps. I’m not far from you just over in Harpenden, Harpenden cycles have a ride out on I think a tuesday eve, but if you’re just after new routes then just search strava.

How about the old Muddy Fox Interactive that I had?

Not that it’s American in anyway, or indeed my picture, I wish I had kept it though

Thanks again, the frame is in top nick but I could furnish with the appropriate garb as I have lots of valuable old shit available on other bikes which I could rob to make an authentic bike of the time.

Is it a detached garage? This is important as if it is you could convert it & move in :-)

Suzi was a customer of mine 20 odd years ago, she was an enthusiastic driver back then as she is now, she has a genuine passion for motorsport & is a worthy commentator in both sports. What she does on R2 is not a reflection of her true passion, but as a recognised celebrity she’s has earned a right to further herself on mainstream media outside of motorsport.

Lets face it, with the amount of boxes that will eventually get connected then it would be worth investing in a decent programable remote if you can’t deal with multiple remote controls, they are not all huge money & I can thoroughly recommend the Harmony brand if you’re on a budget, they work well for the money & have a huge database.

Drive speakers? You know we are in 2017 don’t you
I think you’ll be wanting an amp to drive separate speakers, they will all be able to do that via HDMI or optical out

    Define funky?

I have a big soft leather one that was made for M&S, and branded as such, but I got it new from eBay direct from the manufacturer for a fraction of the price, I also have a leather recliner in the office that was made for furniture village but came form a company called sofaplus roughly a third of the price, described as ex display but with no wear or even a crease visible.

I think of funky as the sort of stuff DFS have on offer every week ;)

I had an older S3 as per mboy, liked it but didn’t love it, it doesn’t handle like a hot hatch. I still have an A3 3.2 dsg as per THIS THREAD & it’s a shockingly bad hot hatch, good at cruising & mildly fast once going but dull as ditchwater.
I recently bought a Type R FN2, the one I got cost £7k but cheaper cars are available, it’s a proper hot hatch, better handling than a MK11 golf with a lot more power, I would liken it to a 205 1.9 GTi but with much better build quality.

Quick edit, the previous type R is a better hot hatch but a little to full on for me, for the same reason I owned 2 205 GTi’s in the past & sold them within days for MK2 golfs, then FN2 is expectable as a grown up ;)

A quick update from me, I ordered a Simba mattress & tried it for over a month but ultimately couldn’t get on with it, to soft & hot for me so I got THIS, I much prefer the feel of a firmer mattress but then everyone is different so thank goodness for trail periods.

    submarined,

I wasn’t trying to be condescending, sorry if it came across that way, I was merely trying to point out that unless you do the sort of riding that will make the most of the modern bike geo then there will be no real benefit, hence the comment about “the fully wheels on the ground type of riding we actually do”.

    Cheers.

I haven’t been on the forum for a while, but it was me that bought your Singular

I really think that for us slightly older chaps that maybe learnt on a fully rigid MTB don’t really need the slack angles & dropper posts (yes I’ve tried them, but not the really modern crop) as we know about weight distribution & how to deal with that very scary “I’m going over the bars” feeling, obviously not mentioning the fully wheels on the ground type of riding we actually do

For me I can deal with fully rigid for local riding, but I still have 3 bikes built up ranging from a rigid 29″ scandal (that Peggy replaced for half a dozen rides before braking  ), a 100/130mm 26″ light HT & a FS built tough because I thought I wanted to ride at Jedi’s place again. I only take out the scandal really, nothing technical enough to warrant much more near London town.

    Cheers.

There is always an inquiry after a police shooting, no? So what’s different here?

Protests & mobs attacking the police, just like in the good old USA.

I’m not making conclusions, mealy asking why the police need to defend themselves against unlawful killing proceedings when anyone with a gun is breaking the law & should expect to be challenged.

I skipped the 6 & kept my 5s, I really wanted to get the SE as I like the size but because I have had to fight with phone companies before I opted for the 7 knowing that I could always “downgrade” to the SE if I wanted but i would be stuck with the SE if I wanted to go with the 7, it’s not been the cumbersome behemoth I’d imagined & after few months I’m more than happy with it. I’m not a big user by any means but the battery will last me 2 days calls & emails with a few travel apps thrown in but no social media.

Thanks Stoner, I know what you mean with JR, they do like to self promote but then they did give us the original video which gave us insight into the industry.
I’m looking to replace a very old Staples pocket spring mattress that has done me well, times move on & I’m wondering if this new stuff is any better given that its not been around that long, again given that first gen memory foam is now panned & dead is the new stuff any better?
When you think about it if a mattress really does give you 10 years of service then £1k would be a real bargain if it provided comfort for the duration, its but a few pennies per night :!:

I don’t wish to piss on your chips, but when I searched that mattress one of the top entries is this[/url]
Maybe I over research these things :?:

I thought I would drag this up as I need to purchase a mattress soon, so firstly I would like to ask Stoner how he’s getting on with his?
Secondly has anyone seen any genuine sales or just the usual guff like Dreams etc?
Thirdly has anyone gone to one of the modern synthetic type Stoner bought & gone back to a pocket sprung conventional mattress, & if so why?

I know I should go & try some, but I don’t think I could get enough time on each to tell the difference so the one’s with the trial period appeal, any help appreciated & the budget is unto £1k but I would prefer to spend less 8)

    Cheers.

Tangle-free hosepipes. I can’t believe we can send people into space but can’t invent a hose that unwinds and winds without kinking.
And no, those fabric corrugated things don’t count, they’re not long enough.
BTW I’m also quite sane (except when having to roll and unroll hosepipes)

Don’t release water pressure before winding it up, & pressurise it before unwinding, it won’t kink assuming you have some sort of water pressure.

I think I could listen to Neil Diamond for pretty much the of the rest of my life if I had to, I would need to start with his early stuff on repeat for years & only move onto the God squad stuff later on, much like people do as they get old anyway ;-)

That whyte looks just right, might be a bit tight for a 40c tyre with mud clearance though?

    Otherwise spot on :D

I have been doing this for a while now & I want something purpose built this time

    Anyone remember the opposition?

What smaller than 8x6m that fits on most standard pitches with 3 bedrooms?

I have just bought a new Drummond 7 for £400 to replace an Atlanta 8, slightly bigger at 7.2m x 4.5, not quite 3 doubles but a much nicer floor plan & ample room for four, it’s still a big beast but fits on most decent camp sites

    Drummond

    Atlanta

I really wouldn’t want to camp on a cramped site, done that & it was depressing :-(

Interesting, if I need to change trajectory in a hurry I tend to lift the front wheel & hope the tyre grips, maybe that’s just because I like reading the “what tyres for” threads ;)

Ahem mboy, as you know I had a S3 & a Cupra, the Cupra was a far better car to drive, if you can live with the image…

I do think big engined N/A manual cars will be future classics as they simply won’t exist due to emission targets, unfortunately I bought a DSG 3.2 8P ;-)

Oh & LOL at the RUF 959 being a future classic, try & find one for less than 6 figures.
