Out of interest has anyone got on with Percussion wellies?
I researched & asked my kids for some for Xmas as most said true to size, they were to big for me but look well made & were certainly warm in in my one mile sub zero walk, unfortunately I can’t send them back as the kids got rid os the outer packaging but I’m reluctant to try a whole size smaller as they will probably be to small.
Why do wellies never come in half sizes?

Loving the Indyfab, I have a Singular Peggasus MK1 & I can’t be arsed to post a photo, but for sale if anyone want to swap for a decent lightweight 29er frame with decent geo ;-)

I really think manufacturers are taking the piss out of the uk, recently looked for a Fuzua equipped HT & looked through the whole Fuzua catalogue, Leader fox have the Wako on the CZ website for the equivalent of £1500, swap to their normal European site & it’s nearly 3000 euro’s, someone is just creaming the profit for wealthy westerners, can’t say I blame them though, the price is what someone is willing to pay, hence we have £10K push bikes in this country, doubt you would get away with it in the rest of the world.

Top tip. don’t go for the Shure 215 se’s, you’ll spend half your life trying to fit them.
Edit, wait for Flashy to recommend the bilgy brass Sony’s*

I bought a new vacuum cleaner & got excited by it…

We have one in the fleet. Just for workshop and building work. The filtration is a bit basic but it sucks well. Great for lumpy debris. Just picked up a makita like kayak’s. Not really used it anger yet but it’s for site work and workshop dust extraction. Dyson cordless for the house though. Super convenient. Got a karcher for wet sucking too. Still working on n+1

This is the point of my post, the old one did have basic filtration but the new one (micro) has much better filtration & suction along with better stability & tool storage. I thought buying a new Henry would be just that & changing like for like but its a far better machine now, don’t know when they changed, but they changed for the better
/End of the most enthralling Friday night thread ever!
Edit to say I’m that excited pissed that I have just purchased the pro kit ;-)

I haven’t read the whole thread but I have the 12 pro, done a bit of due diligence & thought the 11 pro was the phone for me but it was unavailable at the time of upgrade, now wish I could of got the slightly smaller 11 pro, or gone with the 12 mini as the 12 feels unstable in my fairly big sized hands when trying to type one handed, maybe the slightly lighter 12 would help but to much screen to keep a hold of it & reach to the extremity’s of the screen with one hand. Battery on the 12pro has so far been a non issue & I regularly have 50%+ on my return from work as long as I don’t cane the nav apps, so the mini would of worked for me.
    HTH.

How cool do feel about posting a thread about your love of a vacuum cleaner on a Friday night?

As shit as me for replying to a thread about vacuum cleaners on a Friday night?

I have a Henry btw. Love it.

    I have beer & don’t care.

    Long, low, slack innit.

I’m cool again, first time in decades ;-)

    I want one but they’re a bit spendy :-/

I Don’t suppose anybody knows of a cheaper alternative.
It’ll be left in the garage and used to vacuum the cars.

Have you been living in a cave? Vacuums cost anything from a basic Henry at £100 up to a STW must have cordless Meile for £1600 :-)

Skimmed the thread so forgive me if going over old ground.
We have always had a Henry in the house, brilliant for DIY but not an ergonomic everyday tool, years (or is that decades ago?) we had an original Dyson, never liked it, it was quite frankly shit, heavy & cumbersome with poor performance so I bought a Sebo which is good, so good I think we had had it for about 10 years before the better half wanted a new cordless & bagless model. I was totally against it & completely dismantled & cleaned out the Sebo, fitted it back up with all new filters & a new bag to make a point, vacuumed the house (we have one Boarder terrier) & went out & bought a Shark cordless with 3 (yes 3) batteries with a 14 day money back guarantee, came home & filled the container up within a few rooms, one nil to the wife! The downsides to the Shark are a much reduced cleaning head which means more time per room, but on the flip side the cordless means less time switching sockets & avoiding the cord, we’ll call that one even then. So get the the Shark, it’s a no brainer unless your better half uses all 3 (yes 3) batteries without charging any of the depleted ones, in which case you can’t vacuum at all, & I’m calling that 2-1 win to me as the Sebo always worked, even if the bag was full it still made a good enough job of the house, convenience is the new to our old of that reliable just works.
Still, that was £350 well spent as she loves it.

Apart from what I said up there they are not as good as say the De’Longhi but look much nicer & output heat, I’m more than happy with mine.

A 3.2 Audi of some kind, A3, TT etc, will be fun if you ignore the dull handling, I own a broken one still, for a laugh see my original thread HERE Funny enough it’s the gearbox that has it sitting on the drive as the mechatronic unit went in the end & I don’t want to pay £2k to rectify it on a car thats done 112k & worth £4k running, but if you or anyone is after a project or after an engine for a golf etc then give me a shout ;-)

Thanks, for the replies, just to clarify about the mute thing, I currently use a Parrot & the things mutes the audio source for a few seconds every time I get a notification, so on my way to work it’s constant with emails etc so there is no point in having the radio on, if I use the phone as the source then it’s better as it only lowers the audio instead of just cutting it out.
    Cheers.

Do you need it to look like it belongs in the room & be silent? These was the biggest factor for me & I ended up with a Millheat glass, the app is crap & when it fails the default is on instead of off which means I don’t use that feature but otherwise its ace.

    Cheers.

I feel for you, I had to say goodbye to one of mine a couple of years ago on her 14th birthday which made it unbearable, but it was the best thing to do as seeing the suffering was even more so.
My other (he’s called Kobe, guess why) is now showing his 11 years after never having to see the vet for anything other than routine checkups & having his teeth cleaned, he just doesn’t want to walk ATM which is so unlike him, I can’t bare the thought of losing him but I THINK he has had a great life & hope he is just getting old & will enjoy a quiet life for years to come but without the frequent long walks, we’ll see.

    All the best.

I think the OP is sharing an anecdote of a potential customer telling morally dubious lies in the hope it gives them a more favourable outcome in their prospective purchase? Also he is aware this is an inversion of the stereotypical trope of salespeople doing the same to drive a sale.

OP, just laugh and carry on as normal? 😀

It does irk me how sales people often like to ask me what I do quite early on. Probably just my paranoia And they’re just making conversation but I always feel like I’m being sized up

    At last..

LOL (really at the last few replies), but in all honesty it really boils down to the fact that covid has absolutely nothing to do with buying a car so why mention it? It was mentioned because he was looking for leverage or pity, it was never relevant & that was my point.

Ebay and Gumtree are bad enough, but Facebook Marketplace is the haunt of an entirely different level of cretin.

The thing that surprises me is that whenever I have had to interact with anyone on FB Marketplace (when the missus has clearly ignored my ‘never again’ edict), I have never met anyone who appears to possess cognitive abilities that would rival those of a rabbit dropping. Not once.

I disagree but also have some sympathy, I recently sold a bike I paid £800 for second-hand & well used a few years ago, granted I had spent a few quid on it but in my mind it was now only worth about £500. stuck to on FB MP for £800 & within minutes had people squabbling about who was first in line. Sold it to a guy who drove 30 miles in about 20 mins to get here first, even though I told him that if he was on his way then I would hold it for a couple of hours, I think I could of got £1000 for it though.
The key was I actually spoke to him & he seemed (& indeed was) a decent bloke rather than deal with the barrage of email/texts you can spend your life trying to respond to.
On the flip side I sold a very horrible frame on eBay that I even offered to give away on here for £70 to a young guy that hadn’t a clue what he was buying other than he liked the look of it, I felt really guilty even though I said he would be better off buying something else & I wouldn’t hold him to buying it, in the end I took his money but it still didn’t feel right.
I prefer to sell to people I can speak to & make sure its what they want, that way the hassle & potential returns are minimised although more effort may be required in the first instance.

Cycling for me is about enjoyment/seeing the countryside rather than a physical exhaustion test, the ebike lets me do more of what I enjoy, from an aging perspective it really feels like a winner to me,

Great comment towzer, same for me but I have only just turned fifty, although as you can probably tell from the moniker I have never been truly fit!
If I could justify another big outlay then I would buy a lighter less powerful E such as the SL or Zesty but overall I’m happy with my ‘old’ Merida 120e as it does everything I need of it & I can still lift it, I never notice the 20kg weight on the trail but I’m sure I would prefer a lighter one.
    Cheers.

Hunter machines can over ride the stock settings for any given car by selecting ‘modified specification’ & you can do what you want & it will show everything in green, so they can do what they want or pref what you want them to.
There is a good chance their kit hasn’t been calibrated for a while & is out, I had this with a customer who took their car to kwikfit & it was miles out, took the car to our regular place who had literally just had their machine calibrated & it was only marginally out.
If possible put your on other car (which you like the settings of) & take measurements & just ask them to replicate them, problem solved & it doesn’t matter if their machine is miles out.

    Cheers.

I love my Raptor 6, so many thoughtful details which I didn’t appreciate until I bought a new Siskin8 from sports pursuit as it was cheap. I have had the R6 for years & the only issues are crash damage & that I no longer like the green colour, never had an issue with the bite valve or magnet but I think they have changed the bladder now to the one that comes with the Siskin, that is not as good as my old one & the magnet is not as strong but I only have an issue if I don’t route it through the loop on the shoulder strap.
Edit to say the things that annoy me which apply to the R14 are that you need to undo the compression straps to use the main compartment (although you don’t on the R10?) and the really annoying one which seems to apply to all their packs is that the excess straps don’t come with a little band to bundle them up to stop them flapping about, I mean just how much would it of cost them to supply a couple of rubber bands for the straps, just mindless IMO.
    Cheers.

My Saracen Arie-E fits that description. Can handle the rough stuff and is fun on a trail centre blue.

The only issue is the 15mph limit

Stunlocker is your friend here, great bit of software for not a lot of money, some say just change the region to the US/Canada & leave the rest alone, that way 20mph is yours without messing about with the factory settings, others may say you will go to jail if you get caught ;-)
