Dez I did this for my local MTB club btw
We did get stung for Duty 👿 it was about 11-12% ish so be prepaired
if you order enough (by weight) they do free postage I think (they did then anyway)

No disrespect to anbody here (as tbh I don't know any of you really) but…
Dez make sure you get the cash upfront! or make sure you know and trust 'em
I'm still waiting for £58 of dutys over a month on 👿
finally got a response from the offending party just the other day after numerous posts on our Board, PMs and emails. Not! happy!

You try to do people some people a favour and get no thanks for it! 😥

The Hero is a decent bit of kit, you don't need to be a techy to get the thing to do pretty much what ever you need to do.

Got awards from T3 and Stuff
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/news/6252589/Hero-phone-voted-Gadget-of-the-Year.html

The firmware upgrade is a must though (easy to do)
as it made the whole UI soo much more responsive.
there's a lot of HTC hate on here too I've had a few and yes some of it's been shocking but the Andriod stuff is way better and improving all the time

multi tasking and background task anything you like is a + over iphone

but tbh I think you'll find a lot of similaritys between the two but a few less ties on the Hero.

oh and battery wise I get a day and half to 2 days out of mine (not much different than an iPhone)
which is fine for me I just stick on on charge when i go to bed it's usually about 1/2 battery
exchange and gmail syncing all the time weather updates on rss news feeds etc but Wifi Bluetooth and GPS are off until I need them
wifi i don't use really as i find the 3g/HSDPA is fine for all my needs.
SpaceMonkey I think something is up with your's tbh

The app store's great plenty on there and getting bigger all the time

have a look at one seriously

This got me through my first marathon a few years back
only goes up to 18M for your long runs. Got me round in 3:48
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Non-Runners-Marathon-Trainer-David-Whitsett/dp/1570281823/ref=pd_sim_b_5
pay postage and it's yours (about £3) PM me if you want it

Change your routes, parhaps pick up some nice xc routes that you'd do on your bike, just get out and explore.
It's not all as dull as dish water as some make out.
book up a few local races 10K's, 10 Miler's and at least one Half Marathon

I run 32:16 most of the time on my SS 29er for the same reason
I use 180 cranks to get bit of extra leverage up some of the climbs though
    thats round the New forest

I do run 32:18 or even 32:20 for stuff like MMayhem and The South Downs Way

    alpkit are good, best VFM

RAB/PHD are better but more £££
I really rate my Rab Quantum bags, better pack size & weight then the AlpKit ones

NeedleSports often have some good deals on RAB bags
I got a couple last year with £50 off 'cos of a label on the wrong side or something, the bags themselves are perfect

get 'em to price match, has to be a shop not internet only, but doesn't have to be local, and then get the 5 year warranty too

yeah what is with those instructions on the trains telling you not to lock your bike?

for short journeys I stand there with my bike, but on a long journey If i can't get seat where I can see my bike like hell am I going to leave it unlocked for some scrote to nick!

I'd probably put my money on the runner though just!
unless it was a particularly hilly TT route which might push it back into the cyclists court maybe

    29erKeith

Neither! someone that can do both! 😆

Both are hard but in different ways,
runner probably couldn't do the TT as quick
nor probably could the TT'er run the 1/2 as quick.

Some landlord will make people sign a notice when they move in (often people don't notice, or know what it is)
one local landlord round here that I've heard of will not rent to you unless you sign it either
this means they can get you out as and when they want
and it's completly legal! (My partner works for council housing dept)

    did you sign one?!?

very very much so I'd say a full size tbh

I bought a pair (Quest's) off of them before they updated with the warning 👿

I had a pair of pearl Izumis from a couple of years ago which fitted perfectly correctly sized
I stood them up on end and the new ones were a good centimeter if not a little more shorter than my old ones

Crud Roadracer mudguards just arrived this morning (for my commuter)
blerb says 'Road tyres only, Do not use off road!'

not fitted 'em yet though suspect they'll not give anywhere near enough clearance
and off road would get ripped off and mangled first ride tbh

    no no no

    your too short sorry 😯

other than it just looking plain wrong
the 'slow spin up' which I personnaly don't notice (6'2") will be a lot more noticable for you
also the small 29ers get odd geometry and all sorts of toe over lap issues

    wouldn't personally recommend a 29er for anybody under 6'

Car free for 2 years now, other half has a car but needs it for work all the time
I do drive it a weekend sometimes though

Live just outside southampton never use public transport, we don't even use the car for the shopping either, cycle Run or walk pretty much everywhere
I do my best to convince the other half to cycle or walk for local trips as much as possible too

first wet commute in this morning in quite a while, Jan/Feb can be pretty hard though

I'd have thought a lot of LBSs would be happy to bend rules
at the end of the day it's £££'s through the till (mine is!)
even if it were just a frame it's still bike kit therefore sort of for the intended perpose, I'm in no way suggesting getting cash
don't really see the problem myself

Come on hands up Who's bought something on bike scheme which never gets used for their commute/don't even commute on bike at all? I suspect on here its a lot!

last year I bought commuter then spent what was left out of the £1000 on completly unrelated and incompatable components for my MTBs

this year I'm specing a custom build where the frame is going to cost near a £1000 on it's own I'll then pay the rest. Is that breaking the rules too?
I bet a lot of people have bent the rules I don't think the IR are going to hunt any of us down for it. we're not talking serious fraud here are we?
It's all within the spirit of the scheme to get people cycling for whatever reasons health/enviroment…

you can by just a frame IF! you have a friendly LBS who puts a bike on the cyclescheme paperwork 😯

have a word with the shop you've bought through see if they can just cancel your existing order with their suppliers then you should basicly have £999 worth of credit with them to spend on something they can source in a more realistic time frame.

I had 2 sets of 210's go exactly the same, replaced under warranty
last time it happened I said that i was a little disappointed so the upgraded me to 310's 8)

Which touch wood have been great so far, nearly a year now.

Thay were always great when they worked but shouldn't have failed
warranty/service though is 1st class when somthing does go wrong

Just sounds like they're going wrong for to many people just too often which is a real shame IMO
