Selling all your furniture to finance a build – now, that's commitment!

    😆

Dining room, The table and chairs have all been pushed out of the way into the corner to give me room to work 😈

Ooh now that's what I'd like to see in my front room…

Hope you have something suitably tasty to drink as you build that!

ohh yeah I think a nice bottle of Ringwood Ale will do nicly

Will post pics once built up

Apparently! they were going to fly some in from the States a few weeks back

fingers crossed it'll turn up soon

I've ordered a Large Air Niner in Kermit Green, apparently they had the Raw in stock but, I'm really not keen on it so thought I'd hold out for the one I really wanted, not spending that much on something I don't like the look of

I wouldn't have minded so much if they'd said it'll be 2 months from order and it actually happened.
But I keep getting dates via the LBS and they just keep changing
In mid September I was told 4-5 weeks which was fine, thats changed several times now with next week, next week, by the end of this week…
I'm sure the LBS is getting pissed of with me bugging him about all the time and chasing it up too

6 Months 😯 I could ride to asia and back and collect it my self in that time 😆

I did it once along the south of the Isle of wight
    it was a great experiance

expensive sport to get into, even more so than MTBing even at the beginnner level ££££'s on basic kit + ££££'s on training + Lots of time
Very location and weather dependant which massivly cuts down how often you can do it in the UK!

I also know somebody who broke his back doing it 😯
He fully recovered after a year or so but needless to say no longer partakes in the sport, but he certainly wouldn't put anybody off it though
    He does WW Kayaking now

26inch slimes will stretch and work fine, as long as they're not the thin Slime Lites but it is better as anotherdeadhero said, schwalbe tubes with either latex or Slime, you can just buy it in bottles

but yes on occasions (rare to be fair) you will get a puncture that slime/latex can'd deal with
at that point it's a messy job and a new tube, patching 'em train side with goop everywhere is more trouble than its worth

+ves outweight the -ves for me especially during winter rides

Just make sure you get a sprung tensioner what ever one you go for
else you end up fiddling with them all the time as you chain stretches
a lot of the cheap kits dmr gusset etc are fixed

    Surly's is the best imho
but probably the most expensive too
just go for whatever cheap sprocket and rear spacers you can get
not worth spending any extra there really

Nope you’re not the only one

I needed one and had some suitable metal hanging around the garage so welded a few bits together

It's not got a clamp at all, but has got 2 parallel bits of metal clad in a bit of old roll matt so as to be frame friendly. I can either stick the bike on there so it's sitting on the cross bar in the groove or hang the bike on there on the front of the saddle when doing anything with the gears (cables routed under crossbar) always done the job for me.

Mind you I might have a new stand on my Christmas list 8)

My brothers had endless problems with them
and as I work in IT and he's a computer illiterate I get the pleasure of trying to get it sorted 👿

Net connection goes up and down randomly all the time, and their telephone support has been bloody useless every time I've had to call them,
half the time their systems are down and they can't help and ask you to call back in a hour as they can't do anything, this is after spending 15 mins in a queue on the phone which isn't free phone number

Recent order took about a week
It was handled by TNT this side so shouldn't be effected by the strikes

I do it too, every 4-5 weeks

I don't think blood type makes any difference at all with platelets

Work are really good about it too, good cause and all (I do make my hours up though still) it does take about 2 hours ish each time including the paperwork

Everybody has a different program on the machines so time does vary they also vary it per person each time depending on current levels. I'm usually 'plugged in' for about 75 mins each time. You can get tingly and lips fingers from the anti-coagulant that ends up back in your system, which feels odd, but goes very quickly, I tend to get the odd sneezing fit from it tickling my nose too which is weird

The platelets regenerate very very quickly they could take them more often but you do loose some red blood cells etc in the process in the machine
iirc about 10% of what you'd donate if it were donating whole blood
4 weeks is about right for me though any more frequent could be a pain
You can do it less frequently too if you want, they’re very accommodating, appointments do get booked up though especially the one early and late in the day I usually take a long lunch as I work close to the hospital (10 min ride)

If you can do it and it fits in with your life get tested

scaredypants, nope I'm slightly less balanced Keith 😕
I've been riding with 'em for a few years now. The other Keith, Ash and few of the others have been at it much longer

We're usually doing 20-30 miles on a Thursday night depending on route and conditions, leaning more on 20 during the winter as it the forest gets boggy
doing our best to keep the rides interesting and varied
always good fun with a few beers/ciders along the way
