Lots of F words in the single player game cut-scenes (too much for an 11 year old I think)….the online part of the game would IMO be ok for him.

Is the puncture against the rim or the tyre?

If its against the rim have you considered a rough spoke end/nipple that only protrudes under weight?

Unlikely that any DH boys will buy single crowns unless they’re for a playbike, you might drop lucky though

as has been said classifieds/SH stuff is not selling well at the moment

I just sold some Talas on ebay and got a good price for them

Can’t fault mine, had it about 3 months, no problem

santacrews, not sure about that, I have an old ‘ed-lock’ thats all alloy, got someone to turn a new bottom part for me, cos I’ve just gone tapered too

No worries if you know someone with a lathe….but probably would only cost a few quid at an engineering shop

I’ve used a THE for years, I used them when I was racing DH and I still use one on the trail bike if it’s a really shitty day. I’d recommend them without hesitation, I’d also recommend using a headlock with a 6mm tapped hole in the bottom to make installing and removing your THE easier

Joe Blow for me too, had mine for ages now, not one problem, and it’ll pump the roadbike tyres up to 120psi no bother

Sounds about right for Andy and the boys, I used to ride with them a bit a few years ago, but I’m nowhere near fit enough now

Alexx, it’s about 30k as it is there, but as you can see from the loop there’s loads of opportunity to shorten it if required. Park at Satterthwaite (at the bottom of the descent) its free and it means that the ride ends on a mega DH, killer climb to start with though 🙁

There’s loads in Grizedale, I try to stay off the NFT if I can, the natural stuff is way better. Maybe you could tag along next time I go, I live in Lancaster.

I can send you a superb route that takes that descent in, and a lot of other good ones, if you like?

Hang on, I’ll see if I can upload one somewhere

First track is ‘It’s Not Me’ by 3 Doors Down

Didn’t even notice the big rock at 4.19, it was the first time I’d ridden there for over 10 years

A bit of WD squirted in will stop it for a while, but as far as I know there’s no permanent fix for it.
I’d be happy if someone has a fix cos I have the dame problem on my commuter

Yeah, I’ve got a couple of Hope Pro2s on XM819s, no complaints at all, although I suspect they’ll have more than one wheelbuilder.

Cant fault mine though…well built and no ‘pinging’ on the first ride so they’ve been properly de-stressed after the build

Early 90’s they moved to V-brakes.

I say that V Brakes didn’t even appear until around ’97…..I had a 96 Indian Fire Trail from new that had Cantis, and that was a high end bike at the time, if V’s had been out it would have had them

edit…v brakes appeared ’96 on Xt and XTR

They’ll still be 2011 forks though……just not as pretty 🙂

Kashima coating is not for OEM…that means you wont get it as standard kit on any bike you purchase….it only comes when you buy the forks separately

It’ll be 2011, but not Kashima

Yeah, 150mm Talas on the Remedy now, I took the Talas of And stuck some new 36 Floats on….much better bike for the kind of riding I do, and it’s not affected the climbing ability all that much either

Good job CRC are good with the returns policy then, think I’ll just punt for a size up and see how they are when they get here

Would be an Ignitor for me, I’m running a High Roller up front and an Ignitor on the rear, superb combo….got Crossmarks on my HT and they are definitley not a winter tyre

The only problem with parking at High Cross is that any ride you do from there will always have to end with a climb 🙁

Better to finish a ride on a downhill I reckon

Just a thought, it may be that the crown to axle length of a fox 36 and an e150 might not be all that different to start off with.

Aside from that, a little extra sag on the 36 would solve your problem anyway

I use trainer style shoes in summer,661 Filters, I really prefer a ‘proper’ winter boot for the wet/cold

It reduces the axle/crown height too I believe

Not sure about the motorbike leathers system, on a motorbike you generally get thrown away from the bike so it works fine…..in quite a few of the crashes I've had on the mtb I'm still hold of at least one side of the bars at the time I hit the deck……possibly even still clipped in

You know it so well you're riding faster, on 'autopilot' kind of, therefore any 'out of place' rock, branch, even a little unexpected mud can have you off….whereas on a trail you dont know that well, you're reading the terrain more as you ride

    thats my thoughts anyway

Coming from a DH background I feel that there's nothing wrong with a short stem, and this case is probably no exeption, if I had to try and put my finger on the handling problems from a photograph, and your decription, I'd say that probably the BB is too high and the head angle too steep while your on the bike…..how much sag are you running on the rear?

try dialling in 30% sag on the rear when you're sat on the bike, see how that changes the ride…..just an idea, but thats what I'd do first

edit…also get the sag right on the forks too, aim for 20-25% when you're stood on the pedals

    1nten5e

That is, most definitely, a Proflex 857….should really have the old Girvin forks

    1nten5e

yeah, you have to pump them up rock hard to seat the bead onto the rim properly, then let air out to your required pressure

    1nten5e

Been running pro2 with XM819 for ages on HT and full sus with no problems, I'm not a slow/light rider either, 15st and raced DH at a high standard for 10 years. I've dented the rim and lost pressure a couple of times, straightened out with an adjustable and the tyre holds air again no worries

If I had to guess I'd say your pressure readings are out, possibly you are running a lot lower than you think
