    Pain at the front?

Oh dear….sounds very similar to mine when I cracked my kneecap

For info, last time I rode the bike (new Saints) the front was ok, the back was very noisy and on/off braking

I just went into the garage to check the bike, the back one is almost locked with little to no lever movement, the front one is free but with very reduced lever travel….no leakage

I’ve brought it into the house, lets see what happens when it warms up

Bigger brakes won’t stop you better, the are just better at not overheating

That’s nonsense mate, bigger discs stop you far better, its simple physics

Northwave Celsius here, just got some new ones a couple of weeks ago….perfect timing for the weather we’re having now……never had cold feet since I got them

The damping oil turns to treacle in freezing temperatures…thus it cant flow through the damper as fast. This should speed up as you start to get some heat in (by riding). Rear shocks tend to get hotter quicker than forks.

It’s happened a couple of times to me in seriously cold weather….hate to spoil your push home, but peeing on it usually cures it instantly

    Crash

here is my pathetic uphill crash on the same day, snowy root across the trail takes the back wheel out….if I can continue crashing on the uphills instead of the downs I’ll be happy

I meant just a little more upright than your standard XC rider really..

Yeah, I use R4 which gives you a 4:3 (1280×960) view instead of 16:9, seems better for the bike

grumm, nope, totally standard, although I do tend to adopt the DH position, old habits die hard…I’ve heard of people having bother though, I think they’ve just extended the mount with one of the adapters that come with the camera so it sits further out, that way it can be tilted back a bit more

    hope that helps

Cheers Karnali, I raced DH for a long time and I can still ride ok as long as I dont have to pedal too much 🙁 , fitness is at an all time low at the moment, just trying to get out as much as I can and try and get fitter

Crombie: yeah standard rubber, high roller front and Ignitor rear, both 2.35

    Rockhopper:Its the GoPro HD

Takes a while to upload, probably 30 mins for a file like that, not on any superfast BB though, I just tend to set it going and come back to it later

Wow, that eliminator was my first ever race…96 or 97 I think, lots of people got mullered, and I won a set of Hope Ti Skewers….£50 at the time, still have them in the garage

    How old are they?

Mojo price is £99 for a TALAS service, so if they’re in good nick and not too old, I would say you’re getting a bargain

Ti is ‘usually’ super-hard, it’ll even take the teeth of a hacksaw…no experience of Ti bolts though

I’ve had several wheels built by CRC and never had a bad one, they are a quality build, no ‘pinging’ on the first ride means they’ve been properly de-stressed too…..not one of my wheels has needed a ‘tweak’ and I ride them pretty hard

I would recommend them without hesitation

I just got some Northwaves, really really impressed, I have only used summer gloves in the past and was concerned about how a winter glove would feel. No problems with these, and toasty warm

    northwave arctic

I’d rather try and thread a new inner down the new outer than try and push through an old, kinked (at the mech end) and probably frayed inner

Not like you’re saving hundreds of pounds is it?
