Nice build! Id be looking to fit talas 36’s, looking at geometry for m 5ft 5/6 height, the medium looks the best fit and closest to my Orange 5 pro in 16″.

It is a good bit more expensive than the standard Mojo and SL…still, if im spending this much then i may aswell go the whole hog Psychle.

I was surprised aswell Cinnamon, i though i would feel different when i saw the medium, but i would feel very cramped on a small…

It is an older property with a chimney, so im guessing the smell comes through thereb. It does seem like it comes up through the floor aswell.

To be fair tj, unless ur in the situation you wouldn’t understand. I start at 1am so go to bed a 8-9pm and when there is all that racket and reek it stops you fom sleeping, and as im driving and dealing with dangerous goods all day i need to be alert. It aint the coming in at 1am it is the noise that goes on after that.

I like a party as much as the next person but every night! Keep it to the weekends please!

Just sold my 5 and bought a 2009 Alpine, not had it off road yet mind you. Feels a good bit slacker than the 5, i got it to ride uplift days and to do Fort William WC course. I did it on the 5 and although it handled it i felt it would be more fun and quicker with a bit more travel.

I have Cotic Soul for Trail cetre and XC duties so the extra weight doesn’t effect me, although i intend to give it the odd outing at Trail centres im willing to haul it up hills to fly down the other side!

I doubt you will be disappointed if you have and like the 5?;

No problem to me realman, ill manage up the climbs with a 36 tooth chainring.

No it doesn't need black forks, white looks much better and i like the "inner tube" wrapped round the fork crown.

Seems to work in keeping some of the mud off my coupon anyway.

I did take my Orange 5 down fort bill but found i could have done with a bit more travel. Not tdrribly keen on Bullits to be honest. I did look at a hemlock but the price on that Alpine is hard to resist.

I like the fact the bittlerocket is a bit different tho, rode a pitch pro and couldn't get on with it. Pity ad they look ace and are a total bargain!

Thanks for all the input so far guys. I have been offered a 2010 Orange Alpine frame for £975 so that is back in the frame. That is what i originally wanted. I won't use it often at Trail centres very often, just when i fancy a change from the Cotic.

Been looking at Devenci Hectic aswell. The Alpine 160 is nice but expensive, so i think thats out. Any pics of built up Devenci Hectics or Transition bottle rockets? I think it is between those two. I fancy something a bit different u see.

I also have a hankering for an Apple green Alpine 160. Got my 5 frame and forks for sale, so hoping to order my frame next week if the 5 sells. Im after a red headset, bottom bracket and seat skewer as i am total bike tart!

Thanks for the input guys, it does look like a great deal and the frame looks excellent quality and the whole package looks good value. Did manage to find a review and somebody said it had a flexy back end. Nobody else agreed tho!

Did u get an idea of the weight when u rode it? Not that it is a major issue as the Alpine is around 32lbs built up.

I have emailed them so awaiting a reply, im hoping they can fit a red headset instead of the black, and a red bb as im a big bike tart! ;-)

I have an Orange 5 frame (and fork if required for sale, 16", 2010 model, chrome grey, mint condition.

Can't go far wrong with that, im only selling as im upgrading to a bigger hitting bike. I test rode a few bikes and the Orange felt the best, climbs well and decends like a thing that's good at decending, corners superb and is easy to jump and land.

At the risk if sounding biased, it is an outstanding bike, and my frame is like new, comes with Hope headset, Hope bb, Hope seat skewer and rear wheel skewer, all in blue.

All crisps best before dates are a Saturday! :-)

Yeah, just need to sell my 5 frame now. Yeah i thought it would be on the Orange website aswell but nothing to indicate it will be tapered or 1.5". Ill be having a 16", so hopefully get it a shade under the 32.

Have seen a great deal on a Trek Remedy 8 aswell, anybody got any opinions on that as a competitor to the Alpine? I know it is not the same travel but it was a good deal and got the wheels turning in the heed..
