I’m not sure Im a fan to be honest… Bet it cost a disgusting amount of cash (the norm of late)… Even for the frame.

Air show is really good, I bikes over from Dundee. Only took 20 mins, breezed past all the standing traffic. Got a “good idea” nod from plod and took the bikes in.

Well worth a visit and cycle, St Andrews is only another 20 mins away and nice for a refreshing beer.

My mate brings a fully blinged up Santacruz Nomad to Glentress on a regular basis… Ha ha.. Now that is daft! ; )

We went away for 4 days a couple of weeks ago aswell and he turned up with 5 or 6 bags.. I had 2, 1 for play clothes and 1 for the biking gubbins. Travelling light is the answer Alan… (you know who you both are) ; )

I blame my phone for the error.

I rode a 2000 Kona for the best past of 6 years, took it to Laggan, Glentress, Fort William (not the DH course) amongst others..

Must say it never fatigued and im still alive… Plus i sold it to somebody else.. will they die?

I really wouldn’t waste your money, get it painted in apple green.

I think you are worrying about nothing.

Im sure if you use google images and type in Orange 5 it will come up with a fair few photos.. There is a whole world wide web outside this forum you know..

We stayed at Glenearly caravan site, nice and quiet and out of the town so safe for the bikes aswell. 10 mins cycle from Dalbeattie trails and 15 minute drive to Dumfries. Kirroughtree around 1 hour away, Mabie forest 20 mins away.. Well worth doing.

Good on you Mr Wiggins, nice to see a sportman with a good view of what reality is and how luck they are to do what they do and to put it all into perspective.

    “****##g inspirational”

    I like his honest opinions.

Watching him win the TDF and win the TT has really motivated me to get out on the bike and haul on the running gear again.

Got to be white mate, oh and it’s “advice” boggles. Sorry to be a pain, that on annoys me though. Not as much as the “I brought it new.. No you BOUGHT it new”

Anyway I’m going off on a tangent now. Get white forks dude, you know it makes sense and white forks are faster… FACT!

Boggles.. I had a wee nosey at it on my way down the A9 last week. Looks to be mainly surfaced like the cycle path in Monifieth down to Klilliecrankie then roads into Pitlochry before picking up the track again down to Dunkeld. There are some fire roads that run alongside the path but they climb up into the hills. Could be a good deviation tho.

Don’t think it will be terribly exciting but scenery should be ace. Time wise… I reckon 30 mins for us super fit biking gods.. But in reality 5-6 hours, don’t want to make everybody envious.

I’m 5ft 6 and had a 50cm Peloton last year, I found the fit to be spot on. I was sized by my lbs at the time. I have since sold the bike but I’d happily buy another in that size.

The Top Tube was 525mm and felt spot on for me, I was a bit nippit for the 53 for stand over height.

I’m in the market for another tho so I’ll be nipping through to throw a leg over a nice Van Nicholas Mistral in Edinburgh next month.

Big up Cycle World indeed ; )

Looking good boggles, finally a proper bike for you to ride!
Maybe be able to keep up with me now, get it off road ASAP. I predict a Santa Cruz Nomad for sale very soon.

Maybe I’ll get a Solaris and sell my Soul.

Agree with the stem top cap comment tho, that will defo get in ur way, is it a mask or to stop mud?… Actually.. I know what it is, it is a dust catcher as you will still be eating mine! Whooooosh!

    Looks ace.

I thought it was a wind up… But not to so.

Not a fan of Chris Evans either so no idea what I’ll be listening to either, can’t stand Radio 1 after Moyles show.
Normally switch it to Talksport.. Maybe have to listen to Brazil as of September.

Agree with Mills, not a fan. I don’t want a lot of music in the morning, I want chat and a laugh.

XS is the Boardman size mind you but other brands I am bordering a S/M. There is a nice medium Boardman Team carbon for sale but it is 30mm longer in the TT and 60mm longer in the Seat Tube.

I have been to the shops in my area and not seen anything that catches my eye, I had a 50cm Cube Peloton last year that fitted well and the geometry of the XS Boardman is a very close match to that bike.

I like the look of some of the Focus bikes but they are quite heavy in comparison.

Merlin is a fair bit away from me in Scotland.

We flew into Bergerac airport and headed NE where we rented a small barn conversion in the country near a village called Vergt. It is between Bergerac and Perigeux in the Drogdone region. We had a pool with views over the country side. The folk who own the cottage live next door and are really nice, they are as sociable or as private as u want them to be.

We had a good few nights sitting on the balcony of their house drinking beer!! 8pm – 03.30am was a particular highlight but we suffered the next day! They let us borrow their satnav to find the best restaurant I have ever eaten at, set in the grounds of a 12th century Abbey with the best service and food, also ate a Michelin starred restaurant in a gorgeous village.. Ud never find it without the satnav.

The towns of Bergerac, Perigeux and Surlat are full of midevil buildings and alleyways and very easy to spend hours walking about them, loads of Patisseries, cafe’s and Ice cream shops. We also hired a canoe and paddled 14km down the Dordogne, that was excellent as you get to see all the caves that were home to early man.

So anyway im being long winded now, I couldn’t recommend it enough. If you want contact details for the cottage email me at mikedonald@hotmaildotcom and I’ll forward you the owners email.

Enjoy your day aswell mate, I got married 6 weeks ago and the day flew by. No nerves on the day and even managed a pedal in the morning, don’t sweat the speech, it is a doddle. Just enjoy the day because it is over before you know it.
Your head will be full of a million thoughts, have I done this, remembered that, where are the rings etc… Plus all the questions from people wanting to know this of that about the meal etc, do what I did and get there in plenty of time, grab a beer if u can and find a quiet corner with your mates/brother/Dad and relax while u can.

Your jaw will ache with smiling aswell by the end of the day… And never underestimate people’s generosity.. We were so lucky with out presents etc.

    All the best mate.

Balance, control, being able to react to different obstacles and situations on the trail, your confidence will grow when you can do all the above well and on demand..

You may end up using the Full suss as a skills compensator and ride through things instead of over things…

I try to ride the fastest line which isn’t necessarily straight through a rocky section or over roots etc..
I have been riding and racing bikes XC and DH for 15 years and I have ridden all bikes from carbon fibre XC to full on DH bikes, I find a quality steel hardtail suits my riding style best and enables me to ride everything I need to.

U suppose wrong Bradley.. Married man here.
If you can afford it then buy it…
If you can’t then don’t…. Simples.

The fact you have a baby due (congratulations), it maybe isn’t the best time to be taking out finance on a bike.

Why grovel? U can afford it, justify it and it is you hobby and better than pissing it up against the wall.
She isn’t you boss or keeper, u managed to survive life and decision making before…

    Welcome to biking mate.

Yeah I get the cash is king thing but I said I would let him know today if I could collect it… Which I could on Tuesday. But yeah I guess it’s a case of “win some loose some” … Meh and ah that!

I think it was 2009 and my used in the dry and in summer etc. I though it was cheap aswell but I’m not going to tell him that.

So back to the drawing board for me and scouring the classifieds again.
