5ft 8… Ah the stuff of dreams for me. I’m 5ft 6… And that’s being generous. Had a Giant road bike a few years back in a small and it felt fine.. Just looks daft, looked like if nicked my little brothers bike.

There is a size guide on CRC that shows u what size u need. I have been using them for a couple of years and I think they are great. I reckon ud need a small, I have a 130mm travel forks and I run an XS. Get the one with the evil eyes for extra radness, it add’s extra hardcore XC abilities to your riding. Ouw for sure!

My brother and Dad had Japanese imported Nissan Pulsar GTi-R’s, 2.0 Turbo 4wd in a Nissan Sunny.. Standard 275 BHP, but my brother was running 420 BHP and Dad’s was 375 BHP. Unbelievably quick, 0-60 was under 4 seconds in brothers and 4.5 in Dad’s. 160+ mph was achieved in both.

Ugly as sin in some people’s eyes but I loved the way they looked.

I had many a happy time driving them when I was 19-21. Enjoyed embarrassing a guy in a Porsche 911 Carrera 4 at the lights and showing him a clean pair of heels on a back road..

I run a 32 on my Soul, been single ring up front for a few years now. Not much difference in weight and I’m Certainally no more aggressive than I was with a double set up.. Just looks a lot better i think.

Trial an error with chainrings, what is on it just now? Do u like the “middle” one? Can you ride all you want on it?
If so.. Use that, if not, get a lesser toothed one.. Simples!

I recently got a set of X Fusion Velvets with 130mm, they are ace and come in 120mm travel. £305 new from singletrack bikes in Bonnyrigg.

Alternatively if you come off at J40 on M6 and head for Scotch Corner, 5 mins along the road is the Lima Cafe. Very good food but limited parking.

I’m here right now.. Never had the breakfast but the evening meals are not much to write home about… I’d go to truck haven at J35 on M6.. Much better there, or carry on up to Penrith truck stop.. Better food and far more reasonable on the pocket.
