Seems great value if your head is 58-60cm

There is only 58-60 left in the Black/White one, but the Black/Red/Green version is still available in all sizes as I write.

I used to do it on my full sus Cannondale EST in the early 90’s when I first started mtbing. I’d spent everything I had (I was 15) on the bike and couldn’t afford a pair of slicks so I did it on specialized ground control extreme 2.5’s!

I had a couple of jetboils and although they were pretty good, I now use an MSR Reactor and would highly recommend it. Build quality and boil times are in a different league and now that there is a 1l pot version too it packs pretty small as well. It really is a fantastic bit of kit.

I have an ipad 3 is which lives in an A3, I’m typing on it now! I love it and use it in the kitchen for TV/music while I’m cooking, use it for watching movies on when I’m on the static bike, take it to the garage to listen to music on and order things on the web while I’m working on my bikes, or take it with me if I’m looking after my nephews and they watch movies on it in the back of the car. I paid about half again on what you paid and for that money it’s a bargain for a top quality piece of b&o kit the sound is superb. It also prevents the connector from wearing if you leave it in there which is a bonus! Why not keep it for the ipad you have and sell it with the ipad when you upgrade?

Aaaah…. Booths…. and Booths Clitheroe have the most stunning, gorgeous, beautiful new cashier. When she served me last weekend I found myself speechless with awe and admiration for the first time in my adult life.

My closest supermarket too! I must pay more attention to the cashiers!!

    I enquired about the bars a few weeks ago and receiced this response from Hope;

Hi, unfortunately we have decided to not launch the bars. We had our doubts from the beginning as its not possible for us to make them ourselves but 99 % of everything else we make in done in house. Sorry about that.

    Hope that clears it up!

I’ve no experience of the GTD, but I went from a BMW 330ci to a GTI a couple of years ago and I haven’t regretted it for a second. Fantastic cars in my opinion.

+1 for PEDROS, by far the best I’ve used. They even have a lifetime guarantee, they’ll replace them if you manage to break them!

Alternatively there’s a medium Saracen Myst brand new for £1850 here…

These get raved about big time and did very well in the BDS and Pearce DH series in 2013…

Thanks mate, we were looking at brand new ones from Singletrack Bikes for £1899.00 but they’ve just sold out of Mediums and only have Large left unfortunately.

Where are you? Two Cardiff company’s are selling off last years team bikes. Muddybum bikes & don skeans.

We’re in Lancashire, but no issue with travelling for the right bike, think he’s planning to go to Bristol to pick up an Orange 223 frame to put the old parts onto tomorrow.

How do we find out about the ex team bikes mate?

He was looking at a Saracen Myst Pro but we’ve missed the boat on that one I think as the place that had them with almost a third off has sold out.

Thanks everyone! Just been in a meeting so catching up with all the replies now! The kit on the Santa Cruz is a bit tired and it was time for a new (to him anyway) bike really. Doesn’t have to be brand new necessarily….. We’re going to buy a second hand frame to put all of the old parts onto so he has a backup too…

Both my brother and I swear by our Montane Prism Jackets, my brother is a mountain guide and rates it highly. I also have a Montane extreme jacket but have only worn it once due to it being a bit small. It is very warm though.

Having owned a TNF base camp duffel for ten years, I can safely say that they are almost the perfect do it all bag. They can be carried as a backpack and whilst being rugged and almost indestructible, they are smart enough for business trips too if you get a black one. Fantastic bags that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend highly. I bought one for a friend recently and didn’t notice any significant drop in quality. Not used the rolling thunder but I’d think it’d be up to the job.

Try this stuff, thermoplastic tape and melt it on with a heat gun. give a consistent and professional look and is dead simple to do.

Would they be the same as the ones I bought new from Merlin yesterday for £268 posted?

Very impressive if you did, the rear Shimano compatible ones have been out of stock there for over a week, and the fronts are also currently out of stock.

    What’s your point?

OI!! I astroturfed first, get in the queue you interloping blaggard
(edit-I build wheels for wages btw )

No interference intended, I assumed that the OP was talking about the factory built ‘Hope Hoops’ rather than hand built wheels.

Aside from interloping you’re asking for just 13% less than you paid for them. Good luck with that!

To the OP – I’d be getting Hopes.

Thanks for the maths lesson, you’re entitled to your opinion.

Second time I’ve tried to do it myself and second time I’ve **** it up. Not going to try again. Without going to apple has anyone paid a company to replace their iPhones battery?

Take it to apple, I did the same with my iPhone 4 when the battery finally gave up, they gave me a brand spanking 4S for £55.

Looks great for the price, although 35cm seat height surely rules out a lot of 2 year olds – my one only hit 35cm inside leg with shoes at about 2 and 9 months.

Not sure but I think my nephews had them from about 1 1/2 onwards… I might be wrong though, probably best to measure.

    That Stompee looks bad assed!

Tell me a bit more about it if you can…weight, size of brake lever for little hands and is there steering restriction?

They look great don’t they! I’m not sure re weight, but I can remember being impressed at the weight/quality (rims are alloy etc). Brake levers were fine for the boys, they had them from about 1 1/2 if I remember rightly. They also have a decent V-Brake too which is very effective, unlike most others which have cheap bmx brakes. Certainly hasn’t been a bad start for them.

+1 for Lifeproof, just make sure you buy from a reputable stockist, or Lifeproof themselves, as 100% of all Lifeproof and Otterbox on amazon are fake.

My nephews both had a Stompee and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Excellent quality and very durable. Great value too.

+1 I dropped my district rear light and broke part of the bezel, called them up to see if I could buy a new part instead of the whole unit and they sent a free replacement part out to me which arrived the next day!

Thanks, I’ve just had a look at the canon ones, was yours an integrated document and slide/film scanner or a slide/film only model?

Thank you, which one did you use? They seem to very hugely in price between about £50 and £2000, I’d like one that gives fairly decent results without costing a fortune if that is possible!!

Haglofs is excellent kit in my experience. Not cheap normally, but the quality and design is reflected in the price.

I managed to break two Gerber ‘Suspension’ multi tools within a year although they do get fairly heavy use… However the Leatherman Wave I bought to replace them has lasted for six years so far and is still going strong. Overall, Gerber are good value, but for longevity the Leatherman’s superb build quality and materials wins every time.

I too was concerned by the weight of the Croix and bought a Vapour Disc instead. I absolutely love it. It is incredibly versatile and I now have two sets of wheels for it, one with light road tyres and one with CX tyres.
