I’ve got one and for the prices they are flogging them off atm, I would highly recommend you buy one.

They climb brilliantly and equally fly downhill, really plush and feel like 150 rear travel. It’s the best trail centre bike I’ve ever had and actually got a few podiums at Gravity Enduro races last year too on it.

Sizing wise, yes there is a bit of a problem here as they are actually oddly sized!

I’m 5′ 7″ and all my bikes have always been a medium, but the Ghost LT is a small and sizes up spot on, (except for the stem, I changed the 50mm for a 75mm). Also I have to have the dropper post fully inserted for my leg length @ 30″, so I would say the medium is right for you.

Get on the phone to the company and ask to speak to their safety manager stating that they are carryout unsafe lifting practices contrary to LOLER that are endangering passers by and your property. Mention that you have posted photos on-line and will phone the HSE if they do not stop, http://www.hse.gov.uk/contact/contact.htm ;)

Old grip lock rings make great handlebar saw guides, similarly old stem = steerer cut guide.

The myst is a great DH starter bike. However for 700 you might need to spend some money on bearings, fork servicing etc.

I can eat mega hot curries because I have no sense of smell/flavour so they actually seem mild to me. I only find out how hot it really was the next day when Johnny Cash starts to play ;)

I once won a chili eating contest as no one else could actually chew the last chili and I chewed and swallowed – the ass lit up though the next day :D

… or you could also put a 44T One Up Components cassette ring on it to run a bigger Fr chainring.

I ended up buying a couple of cheap tubs, (@195g ea), they have a brass valve and I managed to cut an M6 x 0.75 thread on it. You have to chamfer the neck with a file first to allow the die to seat on the valve stem and then it cuts no problem.

WRT the ghetto tubeless inflator mentioned above, I made a plastic bottle version a while ago which works great.
    However, I was in Sports Direct yesterday and saw these for £3.99 in store, which are the same size as the airshot bottles;

TBH you’ve no chance of full use of your shoulder in 4 weeks time, it’ll just blow again if you put any serious strain on it. 10 weeks + is more like the period before full use / load can be applied

I did mine in 2002, saw a physio, who basically told me to keep it moving, (the hospital wanted to put it in a sling for 4 weeks!). You need a theraband and a light dumbbell weight and just do light repetitive stretching exercises. The theraband, (basically a big elastic band), can be gradually tensioned to put more load into the shoulder.

Like you I had a big holiday 4 weeks after doing mine and I blew it actually picking a suitcase up in the hotel!!

Having never seen a tub up close, I have a tap and die set, so you think I could run a thread up a tub threadless valve?
I’m guessing there’s some ‘meat’ on it?

I’ve found tubs that are 150g, which is lighter than a reasonable tube and also allow lighter tyres to be fitted.

[/quote]Has anyone got one of the nukeproof internal dropper posts, if so thoughts please

I got one 2 weeks ago for my Ragley, first impressions are that it’s out of the same factory as the KS Integra, looks identical. Had one of those on my last bike and it worked faultlessly for 2 years.

So far works great after a few good winter rides ;)

    No they’re not
If you check the small print, they’ve been saying ‘delivery period approx. 20 days or more’ for 3+ months, similar on Bike24 and Hibike sites too!

Sorry to jump in on this thread, but my Trout Darkness Dominator has died and I can’t find contact details for Trout (Chris) to try and sort a repair out.

Could someone please post his email address or email it to me steve dot felstead at morgansindall dot com.

    Thanks.

Yep I’ve got the Oozy Trail 295 on my Ghost Riot LT ‘enduro’ bike, running a Fr Minnion and Rr Mavic Quest tubeless and did 5 gravity enduro races on them last year and all still straight and true.
    Great rims.

Actually considering running them on my DH bike this year with Deaneasy system, (similar to Pro-Core).

I work in construction, specifically pipelines and tunnels and the quick answer is no, there is not one single source.

All the utilities et al have their own records and in a lot of cases haven’t a clue where it actually is apart from in the road/footpath somewhere!

There are a lot of tunnels under every city that date back to the cold war which were constructed as bunkers etc, the location of these will never be disclosed, particularly in London where there still exists emergency escape tunnels. We have hit some of them in the past whilst tunnelling in London and have simply been told to ‘back up’ and re-align. We built a supposedly ‘water’ tunnel under Chelsea Barracks in the 90’s, but it was left at two blind shafts in certain locations ;)

In London we having to go deeper and deeper to get under everything, we are just about to start a new sewer down the centre of the Thames which is going to be up to 100m deep.

LUL are slowly laser surveying all of the currently used underground, so I would say that is the most accurate available wrt where is exactly is in 3D.

We did a mini island tour with Exodus this November and would highly recommend Bay of Pigs and Santa Clara for some history of the revolution. Cienfuegos and Trinidad are def worth a visit for a slice of real Cuban life. Havana is a cert.
Being able to speak some Spanish will enable you to get so much more from the visit, the Cubans want to talk to you, really friendly people but there isn’t much English spoken due to it being banned until recently.
Even the beggars and street hawkers are really friendly and once you say no, stop hassling you!
Landing and departing through passport control at Havana airport is utter chaos, so prepare to queue for a few hours and try and chill. Stand your ground as the cubans all try to queue jump and try and just laugh at the chaos going on!!
Whilst the old cars are part of the history, most of them are utter sheds and most run aftermarket diesel engines, the few ‘original’ ones left do the tours in Havana and are good value for a trip out round the city.
I’m not sure what state the hire cars are, but I would have no problem in actually driving over there, as mentioned above, the roads are pretty quiet and reasonable quality to get around.
Food wise, it cost roughly 20 Cuban convertibles for a dinner or tea,(~£15) and drinks were generally 2-3 CUC (£1.30-£2). The beer is ok too, Crystal or Bucanero.

Just a play on words tbh legally. As stated previously, they will not be fracking IN national parks, but can 1200m+ below them.
Just like current coal mines or any underground activity, the actual mine/drill head is IN somewhere but the workings usually fan out for miles.
The depths they are drilling at the risk of affecting ground water sources are minimalistic, they are way below all UK extraction SPZ’s. I work in the tunnelling industry and you can’t go anywhere near a spz in the UK without years of environmental impact assessments, testing of materials to be left in ground etc…etc.

Another vote for Baavet, without doubt the best duvet I have ever slept under, keep a look out in the bargain box; http://www.baavet.co.uk/shop/index.php?route=product/category&path=61&limit=100
We have the medium weight duvet, (400-450g), and it does all year round toasty warm. Combined with a Baavet mattress topper, you can’t get it any better :)

John posted some pictures up yesterday, he’s been clearing the leaves off the trails and it looks good. Def going to be greasy in the woods, but some Magic Marys or Shorties will be right.

BTW, there’s no uplift at FJ’s, it’s push up at all times.

    My old Contracts Manager;-
“We all have priorities in life, yours aren’t necessarily mine!”

    The same man;-
“We all make mistakes. When you do, come and tell me straight away, I will respect you for that, take the piss out of you for a week and we will then move on. Try and cover it up and I guarantee it will escalate, cost a fekin fortune to sort out and you will be branded with it for life!”
I didn’t listen obviously and there is now a ‘famous’ incident that follows me around!!

We spooked one in the undergrowth about 2m from the trail in Pemberton 2 years ago, I nearly shat myself!! Then about 300m later, round a corner, a rider coming in the opposite direction warned us a mountain lion just ran across the trail!!

We’ve been using the spike vibrocores on our DH bikes this season and not one of the 3 of us has had any problems whatsoever wrt arm pump or arm DOMS all year. One of the lads used to get arm pump, but none this season!

Not 100% scientific I know, but the reverse logic must mean something?

Used Air Transat, (Canadian Affair is same company), every time I’ve flown to Van and never had a problem. Really cheap to take bike on it too.
There’s a Canadian budget airline called Westjet that are going to start flights to Gatwick next May for $299 return from Canada, will be interested to see what the uk price is??

The biggest hassle job is changing the hydraulic brake hoses over and bleeding brakes. Otherwise it’s as above, fit front wheel, fit bars, check indexing, inflate tyres and general check over for transit damage.

Do you want to try and get out of it as there is a way in Scotland, which cannot be done in England, since it is an offence to not sign the NIP?

Under Scottish law, there is precedence that you do not have to admit guilt unless under caution, signing the NIP is admitting guilt, but you are not under caution.

Therefore to ‘play the game of chance’, complete the NIP, BUT DO NOT SIGN IT. They will probably send another NIP to you pointing out you haven’t signed it, just do the same again, just keep not signing anything they send to you in the post.

From the initial NIP date, they have 6mths to prosecute you, so what they need to do is send police to your door with the NIP, they will caution you and then ask if the driver on the NIP is you.

I admit, it’s 6mths of looking out for every police car et al, as they could have your Reg number, but if you want to play, that’s how you do it ;)

The only guaranteed weather thing I know is it’s fekin freezing up top when it’s ok’ish in the valley :D

    I told you all that!!

The one thing you can’t do, (or couldn’t since I can’t see why Hope hasn’t changed the design?), is use a normal adaptor with the xd freehub! The adaptor is too large a diameter at the base and when you tighten the cassette it tightens against the adaptor and becomes a ‘fixie’.
