You have to use one voucher all at once, hence why it’s better to get £10 & £20 value one’s, but you have 12 months to spend all of the vouchers one at a time.

Just read the T & C’s on my receipt and it states this;-
“Please be sure to note the terms for usage:
    • Your above voucher will be activated for use on 25/12/2011
    • Enter code into E-Voucher box at my basket stage of ordering to apply
    • Can be used for part payment only
    • Gift Vouchers cannot be used as payment to purchase Gift Vouchers
    • Valid for one year from date of activation
    • Cannot be exchanged for cash”
Doesn’t mention anything about it not being usuable with any other voucher!

There was also a pdf of a full price voucher so you can write the voucher code onto it and give it to someone as a present.

So lets say someone gets a £10 voucher from me, they are going to be pretty P’d off with CRC if the XX% off code doesn’t work in the New Year sales prior to paying with my voucher! Doesn’t affect me, but CRC gets hassle, so I stand by my original post and reckon there’s double discount to be had, I’m not losing whatever happens.

We’ll just have to wait and see then

I know the method I have described has worked in the past for me for ‘normal’ gift vouchers, it will only not work if the 20% off voucher codes I have are specially coded and rejected.

Right we need to clear some things up first, as like a lot of people, I think you are using the wrong descriptions for parts

A bush in the ‘hoola hoop’ insert that press fits into the shock eyelet, all shocks have these or else the body of the shock would wear and you’d be having to buy new shock bodies every 6 months! The ‘top hats’ or shock pin that slides through the bush is a pivot pin that mounts the shock to the frame.

The top hat pivot pins are especially useless on the lower mounts and wear really quick. Best solution is to use HD stainless pins, they still wear, but you get 2 to 3 times more mileage out of them. You need to change the pin & bush at the same time, if you only do one then your problems will return V quickly.

Even with merino socks and NW artic boots I still get cold feet due to bad ciculation the only way I can cure it is using these too;-

I managed to get a box full off ebay last winter, so it works out @ 50p a ride which is well worth it for nice warm toes :D

Yeh, as I have found out in the past, dicks like this end up on the other side of the courts prosecuting you for the very same offences he’s just committed.

Most of the time you get done for being ignorant of the law and it’s only ‘students of law’ who know how to get out of it when they actually have committed an offence.

My mate’s a copper and he’s always ranting about dicks like him.

If people actually read the T & C’s it clearly states you cannot use any other voucher code to buy vouchers, nor use the discounted vouchers to buy further vouchers in the future etc…etc..

You CAN use more than one voucher at a time! You fill your basket and type in a voucher code in the box, that value is deducted from your total and the voucher code box clears. You then type in another voucher code etc..etc until your basket value is less than the value of any voucher codes left…simples!!

After the 25th when the discounted vouchers are valid and when the New Year sales discount codes appear, (they will believe me!) you can get double advantage as follows;-
fill your basket, apply % off discount code, pay using discounted vouchers.

You can get 2 Fox or 661 helmets for the same price, unless you have a desire to look like Kryten, I don’t think they’re worth the extra!

Aye, we’re a friendly lot, even tell each other the fast lines :D I started when I was 33 and I’m still enjoying it after 17 seasons.

Inners are doing some winter DH orientated races Jan – Mar which would be a good Intro for first timers. http://www.innerleithenmtbracing.com/

Bin the top hats off and get the HD pins as mentioned above, you’ll go through less bushes in the long run.

Also you can replace old bushes by ‘pushing’ the new one in which pushes the old one out at the same time. Ideally done with a vice but I know some people who use a hammer to do it, I just prefer things a bit more ‘gentle’.

I’d agree about Gargamel, there’s a few good bits but a lot of crap bits too!

    Ride Don’t Slide – Whistler
    Hey Bud – Garbanzo
    Original Sin – Whistler
    Fort William DH
    Chilcotins – BC
Mega Avalanche – Qual & Race runs
    Cream Puff – Pemberton
Garbanzo to Whistler Village by the fastest route! (Started a T2R mini challenge 2 years ago to get from top to bottom the fastest by using official marked trails only) Ferkin scarey, but got it down to 11 mins :o))

I buy Bolle safety glasses, anti fog, anti scratch, CE impact approved, better quality than some £100 ‘cycling’ glasses. Various styles available, (I like the Contour) and cost around a tenner a pair off ebay 8)

Went round the full FTD & Monkey last night, Fairly dry apart from lots of puddles in the braking bumps  but you can rail around them easily as they’re in the middle of the trail.

Up there last night, bone dry all round. Oooh I tell a lie, there was one tiny puddle just before the 90 deg right hand berm on the 3rd section of the Monkey, be careful round there it might splash your shins a bit

Whistler BC, the Blackcomb glacier is open until the end of July there, I think it has one of the longest snow seasons on the planet.

You can sunbathe, MTB and snowboard in one holiday, all within 10 mins of your accomodation.

Really is heaven on earth 8)

    In one word yes.

I have a wheel that is over 10 years old and still going strong, I have also had wheels that have only lasted 6 months.
It’s all down to usage, maintenance and luck that you bought a wheel with well manufactured components.

There’s one at Innerleithen, which isn’t too far away from NW Eng, on 19th November. It’s a day/night one, a run down two tracks in daylight, then same tracks after dark. 8)

I’m guessing that pay and display meters will appear along the newly stoned and marked Marquis Drive, which will then lead to people parking on the grass verge on the main road for free.

Try Cove Bikes in Deep Cove, it’s on the doorstep of the trails. The North Shore isn’t just gnarly woodwork, there’s some fantastic xc trails in there too, they can sort you out with route maps et al. 8)

Indeed, I have some Conti spikes and to prove to a race official that they wouldn’t do you any more harm than a normal tyre, I put my hand on my spinning tyre and stopped it. The studs are virtually flush with the tyre tread so it’s just a friction burn like a normal tyre, that beast above would rip you apart

Having 3.75 kw of panels installed next week.

Basically costs ~ £3100 per kw installed, max domestic Installation is 4 kw.

Using consevative predictions, estimate is I’ll get my ‘investment’ back in 7.5 years and then a tax free income of £1700 per year for 17.5 years. We are also getting a battery back up system installed too, so they are charged during the day and we draw from them in the evening, so our draw from the grid will be virtually zero. So that saving can be added onto the tax free income for total return.

If you’re got £12k sat in the bank doing nothing, (it’s actually losing value sat in there), it’s a no brainer, get some panels on your roof. 8)

The only limiting factors are if you don’t have a southerly facing roof or if you have listed property then they can’t go up there, but they could still be installed in the garden if you have one big enough .

Interesting, I have 4 SDG FX i-beam saddles and all have the screw hole for the quick clip. The i-fly on my DH bike doesn’t though, but then I don’t want a saddle bag on the DH bike

    What i-beam saddle is yours?

    100mphplus

If your SDG saddle hasn’t got one, you need to buy one of these clip mounts;- http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=32204 and then do a search for Topeak Quick Clip bags as mentioned above.

I lost a bag that just had the clip and find the bags with the extra vecro strap to go round the seat tube are more secure.

On components you pay 4.7% duty on the value of goods + shipping costs. You then take that figure and add 20% VAT and then you add some randon amount that the shipping Company adds for ‘handling’ costs.

On £300 , assuming shipping costs of £50, you’d pay about £100 ish

They follow on from each other, so you may get a bit confused reading the third before the 2nd, and it will spoil reading the 2nd as you will know the final outcome.

Great books and also great films. Not sure what the ‘american’ remakes will be like but the original Swedish ones are brilliant.

Frame builders can make that ‘pivot’ area stronger as the BB is wider and therefore the connecting tubes onto it can be bigger.
