The solarstorm x2 comes with a battery and charger for circa £15. When that battery dies, which tbh we seem to get 2+ winters out of them, then get the torchy battery.

The stealthamajig is in two parts, a silver ‘hose barb’ that screws into the end of the hose and then a red ‘compression fitting’ that has a reverse thread that screws onto the ferule. So the compression fitting will unscrew in a clockwise direction when dis-assembling.

Just fit a new compression fitting on re-assembly if the old one is deformed.

Have just bought some Fox 49’s to mullet my 27.5 Saracen Myst, the geometry makes so much sense on a DH bike.

Have done this in the past without needing a bleed;-
Take the brake pads out and pump the pistons out a bit, (but not too far or they’ll pop out!!)

Position lever so exit hose is pointing up as this will prevent any fluid dripping out. Next undo hose from lever, remove the red thingamajig, (it has an opposite thread), leaving the silver ferrule in end of hose and slip off nut and rubber shield that connects to lever. Now re-route hose as desired.

Now reassemble opposite to assembly and push pistons back in and re-install pads and you shouldn’t need a bleed.

My main concern with Transits is respect to security, they are a doddle to get into and nick!!

    Every transit I have owned has been at by thieves and I currently have the following on mine;
    Cat 1 alarm
    Tracker
    Deadlocks on every door
    Pedal lock
    Steering wheel lock
Wheel clamp when it’s on drive

If you’ve ordered a ribble, then one of the options is to choose your bar width and stem length as they stock 40, 42 and 44 width in a few stem lengths? I think only Ribble can answer your question on what bars are on your bike.

I asked Ribble once on who makes their bars but they never answered, but they look a lot like the FSA Vision bars, who do also make them for other brands.

I concur with above, Superstar are great value for money and have the biggest range of options available too.

    I’d recommend Wheelers also.

I have a 100W rigid panel on my MoHo roof and a duel controller sending 90% to 2 x 110 leisure and 10% to 2 x starter/habitat batteries, (so it’s charging 4 batteries) and none have ever gone flat in 4 years of use so far.
I use the fridge on gas when stationary, so that load never comes from batteries.

I was recently quoted 2k per tooth in north Cheshire, I decided I could get a lot of dentures for 4k so went for a plate instead which is working fine.

I have a highly modified ’98 TL1000-R buried in my garage!
Due to the introduction of ethanol into fuel which caused the carbon tank to start leaking, it has needed that repairing for more years than I can remember now! Hopefully get it sorted this year and then decide what to do with it.

I use the Nikwax tech wash first and then the re-proofer on my two old RF jackets.
Small trick after it’s been re-proofed is to put it in the tumble dryer on a low heat setting to dry.

Yes, they just unscrew. The outer red ‘olive’ is a reverse thread, so clockwise to unscrew.

You only need to take off the red bit, the silver bit sits flush with the hose.

I check the market every year and have not found anyone who are as cheap for custom kit as http://www.stigmaracing.com/en.

You can use one of their templates, or we get fully custom race shirts for under £25 a unit.

Are you intending on camping overnight in the car parks too?

If so I’d be very nervous about leaving bikes on a rack outside at BPW and Cwm Carn, I’ve had mates have the under bed garages broken into and bikes nicked there!! On racks are a piece of piss to the bandits there 🙁

    What kind of ‘engineering’?
If you want a good one then you need to be a bit more specific on expertise if it’s a specialist engineering company.

Yes I pick them but started years ago using this book;-

IMO it’s the best starter book going and lets you identify quite a few edible ones straight away.

A bloke called Roger Phillips has produced very comprehensive books which I now use to identify most mushrooms I come across.

Simple guidelines are if you’re not 100% sure, don’t eat it! It’s also V difficult to identify them from a picture!

Had a bespoke fitted kitchen made from them 7 years ago.

Actual design and unit quality is excellent as they are still in A1 condition after 7 years use. The only problem we had was the nob who came and fitted it, who thought he was the best fitter in the country and actually wouldn’t fit the sink unit where we wanted it next to a corner unit, (and where it was designed). My wife and I are engineers and it was obvious how to fix it so we told him how to do it and he eventually reluctantly did when he realised we were correct.

When he’d ‘finished’ and gone I snagged every unit, (12 in total), and there were problems with 9 of them. I complained to the office and asked for another fitted to come and sort it all.

    No!
It’s another ‘std’ that pisses me off quite regularly as I put SRAM on all of my bikes. Bikes should provide a Std hanger if they come with a direct mount one fitted.

I bed in all new pads and discs and there’s a piss easy way that I learnt years ago being part of a world endurance motorcycle racing team.

Take pads out, then put some water on a flat stone/brick/paving slab (I use a chisel sharpening stone) and then just rub the pads against the stone and watch the water go black. Do a couple of times, then dry pads and replace in calliper.

I then use a bit of wet and dry on the discs to take the shine off the braking surface.

Mega bite first time you brake 😉

I had a similar incident on a £1k pair of Fox 40’s and the buyer raised an ebay and paypal claim against me for non delivery!
Even though I provide full tracking info on 48hr delivery, he told me he was out on the day of delivery and also informed me that the postman would not be able to access the property, even to leave a delivery card. My scam warning bell went off at this point.

Thankfully his claim was rejected as I had posted it to correct address given by buyer and Parcelforce provided proof of receipt at the correct address. It may have been signed for by someone else and nicked, it may be a scam by buyer, but I think you should be ok wrt ebay claim.

After that was rejected he somehow managed to raise a claim from Parcelforce for the purchase sum. I raised a query with Parcelforce about this as apparently only the seller should be able to do this?

I’ve provided all info required by Parcelforce, but heard nothing back yet and buyer/scammer has gone quiet. If anything does appear from Parcelforce, I think I’ll just wait to see if buyer contacts me again 😉
