Not ridden the ECR but do ride a Krampus and love it. I’m sure you could make it work, with what you are describing it doesn’t sound you would be carrying masses anyway.

If you go to Jodrell Bank why not have a stroll round Bernard Lovells garden http://www.greatbritishgardens.co.uk/england/item/the-lovell-quinta-arboretum.html Don’t know what the Sweaty arms is like any more but it would rude not to have a pint while you are there. Tatton park and Knutsford are nice too or a walk round the edge and Alderley edge is very pleasant. Have fun.

If you want to be creative and right on, make up a heuristic play basket. It would take a little bit of time and effort but that’s no bad thing. http://littleacornstomightyoaks.co.uk/Articles/Treasure_basket enjoy your shopping.

My gnarmac bike is a All City macho man disc, which is probably the most appropriate bike for me. My inappropriate bike is a Surly Krampus but by Jove it’s fun.

You have a good but varied list their. Unless your strong as a ox consider a bike that will do gears and SS. With a rigid I would want space for big tyres. Second hand would probably get you a better bike around your budget. The new Trek stache 5 is not out yet, over budget but well worth a look. 650B + bikes coming out may suit. Good luck with your search and let us know what you get.

In the yard today I played football and making big islands in the sandpit with big buckets of water. We then went in and melted ice cubes on our foreheads. Good fun all round.

At risk of being shot down by many, have a look at the Charge Cooker 1 from the 2016 range @ £799. The Pinnacle range at Evans has some good value well thought bikes too. Good luck with your search. Cheers 1 shed.

    I know it’s all bullsbit and I do have a beard but I can’t explain, it’s just aesthetics I guess….

Yes its a emotional response. It’s why we buy things, use things and most importantly why we communicate. I love steel bikes and I know they are not the best for many things but they suit me and make me happy. So does smelly cheese, doesn’t mean its the best. But a carbon bike and a energy drink makes my poo runny. Each to your own. Buy a Krampus they rock!

No problems, hope you get both your bikes fettled soon.
