Yeah, I’d take it, you’ve got the stainless steel crown race right?

What kind of condition is it?
Yeah I’d be up for that – providing it would fit……

    Anyone else?

    Okay – would I need a 49.6 1.5″ bottom cup and a 44 1.1/8″ top cup?
Anything else (would I need to buy a crown race or would that come with it?)

Thanks – looks like I’ll be going nukeproof generator instead – I’m pretty sure you can convert them too though.

Thanks – I’ve found a conversion kit for a hope pro 2 evo – I think that should do the job.

    Can I convert a 135×12 rear hub to 135×10?
I’ve found a decent wheelset, which I can use to replace the one I’ve got at the moment, but I’ll need to convert the rear hub to 135×10.

Hmmmm, that may be very useful – what year is the frame?

Would a Hope Pro 2 Evo 135×10 Bolt up hold a 10 speed cassette?

Okay, thanks – looks like I’ll be buying a new hub then!
    This build is getting expensive……..

A shame I know – but I’m stoked to get an El Guapo – who wouldn’t want to ride the same bike as Ed Oxley!!!!

    @b r
Aluminium can still corrode in the rain – it wasn’t a stupid question.

Unless it’s anodised apparently. I would assume a brand new frame would have been anodised.

I’m not too worried about the small marks on the frame. The problem will be whether I can stretch the extra £100. I think I’ll have to let you know after Christmas (I know, shameful, but it’ll be my only form of income for the next month or so).

Around how much were you looking for it? I have a nasty feeling it will be out of range

Wow – what luck!! Unfortunately, I’d only be after the frame and wheels – could you split?

haha, you really want to make me a rocket rider don’t you?

Both bikes seem so nice. But I think I’m going to get a Titus, because I can buy it new, it will come with a CCDBair and it will be Large.
    Sorry to disappoint you Jive.

Also if I’m starting Enduro (which I confess I have never done before) won’t the uphill pedaling be pretty important, and therefor a medium might really not be ideal.

Not sure if you saw, but Cy joined the thread halfway through – he seemed to think it would be a bad idea to go medium.

Jive – that is exactly how it felt to pedal the Patriot sat down!

Ahhhhhhh, I am now more confused then when I started the thread.
The El Guapo does look really nice with the CCDB, and I’m wondering if it wouldn’t be more ideal for what I’ll be using it for.
But it also sounds as though medium Rocket might be Okay, especially on the downs – however it is a lot of money, so I don’t want to regret anything.

I think the prices will be similar between a 2nd hand rocked and a new El Guapo with CCDB air.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, I’ll probably sleep (or not) on it.

My “current” bike was sold and sent last week 🙁 It was an Orange Patriot 66, 14″ if you’re interested.

To be honest, although the Titus El Guapo won’t have the wow factor, it does seem like a very nice frame – and sooooooooo cheap.

Maybe I’ll get a rocket when I’m at uni.

    Damned money!

As much as that would be my dream bike, I simply cannot afford the frame.
Looks like it’ll be a Titus El Guapo for me then 🙁

I’ve emailed Cotic – hopefully it’ll be Cy that reads it – thanks for the help

Yeah I was thinking about asking him, but thought it might be a bit cheeky seeing as I won’t be buying the frame from Cotic :/

    Thanks Steve.
Yeah I mainly ride DH trails at the FoD at the moment, but I’d like to get into some Enduro races.

Damn! I’ve just bought a 250mm Thomson post – looks like that’ll be up for swaps in a few days.

I think I’m gonna go for the medium – not that I have much choice!

That’s interesting, so you reckon all of the DH trails at FoD would be okay on a 150mm travel bike?

Nice, can you let me know how it rides?

    06awjudd

No, I haven’t tried one, I live way too far from any demo days places.
Yeah, I’m not worried about the head angle, the 66.5 with 150mm forks is fine.

It’s more that I don’t want my forks to break on me…….
That said most of the DH stuff is at FoD is pretty tame bar Endo and tGtBtU, so I may be able to get away with 150mm.

I also have the opportunity to buy some 2011 Fox 36 Float 160mm for £325 – an opportunity not to be missed I think!

Anyone know how it’ll climb as I’ll be wanting to do gravity enduros and I don’t want to die of exhaustion!

While spacing down 36s would be far too sensible, I’d like to either benefit from the full travel of the 36s, or the better climbing and weight of the 32/34s.

Awesome – I didn’t want to have to pay for a bleed, as I don’t have the kit.

Is it a pain swapping the levers over? Will they need a rebleed afterwards?
