@ uplink, I'd not been in for over a week so couldn't participate in the race to book time off!

Checked and I can't have any real time off in July/Aug, due to the fact the full timers are having at least two weeks off!

Why then?, well I race and this is the busiest time of the season, and I was hoping to go southern france to see the Tour and some family in July.

I only use it for buying now.

I've just had a powder coat in sky blue, finish is brilliant! Can't notice any difference in the weight either.

As for colours, most places have loads to choose from.

Why burn them, they'll rot down soon enough.

Tyres/innertubes – overpriced by a mile. I once got told that innertubes cost 11pence to make.

Road bike handlebar tape – average is about £7, in reality I reckon they cost pence to make.

Would have to agree with road STI's, even Sora are over £100 a pair now.

Awful grindcore/thrash. Formed in the late eighties as a joke, but still together now.

A very good bike by the looks of it, at one point the same frame as a Kona Stinky, not sure if that is still the case though.

More or less any bike is available through a C2W scheme with Halfords, this isn't advertised for obvious reasons though.

Thanks for the tip, but this place specialise in motorbike spraying as well. I gave them a call yesterday and the guy mentioned that they 'bung' any threaded area before work commences, with turn around usually under a week. Going to try and get over tommorow, see the colour charts and what not.

Both look very good guys, any idea of the weights Vs normal paints? I guess it would depend on the amount of layers though..

I'm in the Midlands, near Lichfield/Burton area. I've found somewhere that can do it though, and having seen some of my mates frames that they've done, they look pretty good. £25 too.

The owners are idiots. I know farmers who wouldn't think twice over shooting a mutt that decides to chase their cattle or calves, that is of course if the the dog hasn't been crushed by an irate cow in the mean time.

Apart from putting signs up there is very little that can be done.

Thanks for the advice everyone. The reason is that I'd rather not ruin an X.0 drivetrain, and I can get a bike worthy of being converted at a very good price.

A friend of mine has some professional paint guns, so can use those if need be. But would need some decent paint as well.

Don't know if you've ever been onto weight-weenies, but many on there do some painting, with very good results.

I take it that'll help the paint stay on?
