I've put the spacer (0.75mm+/-) on – they still move. Yes, the old sets of wheels were Shimano 10speed specific.

Made the spacer fit, still moves. Moral of the story: don't buy Hope hubs with alloy bodies.

Even though I've not needed a 0.75mm spacer on the previous two wheel sets I now do – is this just something to do with the Hope design I presume?

just sanding a spacer down now as the length is less than 1mm in the overall freehub length.
