I really don't fancy the front of my bike collapsing though! 😆 Yup, classifieds it is.

Cheers the suggestions people, I'm just going to get some new forks, and sell my others. Mint condition as well 🙁

I've used and raced with both, prefer Shimano.

Thanks everyone, I will be planning to race on the bike though, so don't really feel having a steerer extender in place will be overly secure..

'no more questions please' who does he think he is. Anyone would have to have their head examining to bid on that.

Do a search on the weight-weenies forum, lots of info about the pros and cons of each.

A friend of mine has NOKON's on all of his bikes and has done for some time, the white colouring flaked off on one bike and they were pretty noisy, though you could oil them I guess. I'd been lent the bike to race on and didn't notice any difference in shifting performance, but then again I was only riding it for a few hours, so can't say much for long term.

I keep meaning to buy a set of I-Link's, but only because they look good and are cheaper than NOKON's.

    Ciao

Yeah, just ignore the Audi RS6/Patagonia wearing/Specialized S Works riding/can't ride for shit/show offs. Good on them for thinking up the idea.

I see no real bling so far, but some nice looking bikes 😉 Very nice Merlin btw. My kind of bike. Still waiting for my frame to arrive, so no piccie from me just.

    Inspiration though?

12hour enduro – with teams of 4/solo/pairs. I find these the most enjoyable, as you really can go 'all out' on your laps knowing you'll soon recover for the next.

Course time ideally around 40 – 50minutes, starting with as long a climb as possible so everyone is wittled down on the first lap. Hard to describe what kind of course I'd want as they all differ significantly, but this years course at 24-12 in Plymouth was amongst the best I've ever raced on.

No running at the start, I don't train to run, I train to race a bike! So a start loop to avoid traffic would be good.

Showers – If an enduro event didn't have showers, it's unlikely I'd do it. Travelling hundreds of miles and then racing, it would be cruel not to have these on site, entry fee's more than cover the cost of having event showers anyway.

    Midday start – Midnight finish.

Can I ask, is this country park you speak of in Derbyshire? Heard rumours a while back thats all.

    Ciao

Funnily enough I didn't realise that Brainflex..

He's picked the car up now, has said it is the CV boot, and that it's just split and caused the lovely mess everywhere.

Right, I've checked the brake fluid level, and it's fine.

The engine oil on the other hand is quite low, near the bottom of the stick, but then again I've not put any in for quite some time. Oil light not on though.

Slammed the brakes on, on the gravel drive and they skid as you'd expect.

Think I'll leave it for the expert tommorow.

    Thanks everyone.

Annoys me on the classifieds how most people cannot be bothered to put some pictures up. Someone is selling a road bike that would be ideal for my mate (who is waiting with cash), and they couldn't be arsed to put and pictures up, and someone called 'dibbs' anyway.

Whoever pays first gets the item. You want it, you pay, I just cba with the fuss sometimes!Thats how it should be I think. Rant over.

I rode past an ex-golfing banker at a trail centre the other a week, he was on a 2010 Specialized S-Works Epic. Called up Specialized to compliment them on it, and they sent me one the following day – free of charge! 9/10

    Here goes:

Everyone in a supermarket, would you stand in the middle of the pavement and block me walking by?
People who give way to other vehicles, for no reason other than they have time to burn.
People moaning about the weather when they drive everywhere.
    Drivers on the phone.
Radio 1 between the hours of 10am-7pm.

I'm a member of a road club, some of the members race while other just ride for the social aspect.

I race off road, and when not filling in for other teams I will ride in my club kit.

Just go up! I rode around Ullswater a few years ago and must have seen about three people. Hard climbs with rocky fast descents. Great fun and must have been riding for at least three hours.

My dad has some…under the stairs.

I once had a go at mixing on some Gemini Decks, enjoyed it. But it was rather hard and I broke a needle.

Vinyl is still alive in the the dance world it seems, with most tracks being available on vinyl as well.

Got a Hornets nest near our house, you should see them by the outside light at night..massive. Lots of them too.

As for the sting, you can't really do much other than apply some sting cream.

Triathlete. Pfft. Did he ride on the front the whole time I guess?

Always drink and eat before you get hungry. 500ml/hour +/- liquids, and don't push yourself too hard, spin gears, rather than push.

Road rides tend to be of a more sustained pace, whereas for an epic off road ride you'll be taking it slightly more easily.

The terrain will also influence if you 'hit the wall' or not.

Had a lock in at the local cinema last night, we watched Final Destination 3D, pretty good! Graphic though.

A film called Avatar being released in the winter looks brilliant though.
