Gutted, at least they didn’t get it! As previously mentioned, that is too nice-a-bike to be out on public display all day. After following advice on here I got hold of a late 90’s Raleigh Max, fully rigid, Cantis, etc, and stuck some semi slicks and will now be using that for commutes where the bike will be on display, it’ll still be locked up of course.

Get a proper RAT BIKE (eBay for a Peugeot/Raleigh or something similar). Are they normal bolts on those brakes btw? If not they could be off in minutes.. sorry to say. 🙁

One of my techy mates warns me away from dongles due to the speed/connection? Is the speed OK with you?

Whenever I’ve had to deal with O2 about my phone, they’ve been very helpful, so could be the way. Hmmm

Any experience with Sky broadband anyone?

IMO training plans aren’t great. Just had my best season on the road, without any training plan what so ever, just miles (with some decent riders, helps)

Previously tried plans but soon lost interest.

Are you after a good base mileage for next year I presume? Or are you after some training plans for general fitness?

They are most likely part of the NEG (national escort group) who a trained at managing events on the road, but legally have no power to stop/halt vehicles (in my experience of marshalling and racing, most motorists are happy to stop for an event to pass) this is where the police come in

Yeah I hear that too, but they still get a payrise every year! Ha.

OTT? Road racing on a whole in the UK is a great threat of being 'forced off the road' mainly due to the police cancelling large events (see north wales, near ban could be comming into force), the organisers/sponsors of the TOB will be forking out thousands for police support, without the police this event in theory wouldn't go ahead!

Doubt you'll get much of a response on here 😉

I saw it, pretty standard stuff with Griepel getting the win (more wins than any other road rider over the past two seasons, hence why he's leaving Team Cav), he had a wheel change at 5 miles to go too…

Off to see it on Gun Hill near Leek tommorow, an occasional riding buddy is riding so will be giving him and others a shout.

Stage 3 finish looks very interesting if you've seen it..

Never mind replacing your helmet, get a proper medical to determine any injuries (future injuries/ailments) first and foremost, also get pictures of any injuries you have, keep them all together for a potential claim against this driver.

As for the bike, as previously mentioned by others get it checked out by a decent LBS, ANYTHING marked that previously wasn't marked should be quoted, therfore replaced.

This stupid/careless/thoughtless/driving without due care/dangerous idiot driver could have KILLED you, don't forget that.

    Just saying how it is…

haa. It's not the nicest of towns! but never mind. Girls would clearly be a big benefit, but I'm not a massive drinker though.

We shall see, got to speak to the accomodation guy at the uni later anyway.

Cheers, if it's up by around £50 then I'll probs just leave it rather than shopping around, save the hastle. Any more and I'll go compare.

Although I seem to recall DirectLine would match ANY quote, hmm.

Find a hard hill, smash it up, freewheel down, repeat. If you can taste blood you'll be going hard, being sick is the ultimate goal here though.

nickc – Top end is top end, doesn't mean the public will actually buy such bikes. The only reason why high end race machines as above are available is that a UCI rule was introduced to stop 'pro only' stuff, no irony at all as far as I can see.

It's highly interesting to see such developments, despite the cost.

If you have a spare £100,000 + you can even buy a bike like Chris Hoy rides.

    Seconded Martin Earley.

He 'adjusted' me before, and many of my friends (some top UK road riders). Ex pro cyclist too.

he's actually nearer Stone (Staffs) too.

The only people who moan about courses are those who are poor at riding!
