    Morning All

Any WordPress users here? Would you mind sharing some knowledge on increasing site traffic through search engines such as google.

I’m a bit of Wp simpleton so, easy methods first please.

Also, are there any simple Wp manuals that would be worth getting hold of.

    Thanks

There are some SEO plug-ins, I use all in one SEO, but most of the things you need to do are not wordpress specific (links, content, etc)

Best way I’ve found is to have content people want to read.

Google Analytics is a good place to start, along with the equivilant on other search engines.

I wouldn’t condone shameless promotion though.

There is a huge on-line community and loads of support documentation for wordpress. I don’t think it’s necessary to go out and buy any books. I think the best thing is to have a play with it. If you want to do anything that doesn’t come as standard, then there is almost certainly a free plug in that will do it for you. You don’t really need any techie knowledge at all.

I have recently started using wordpress after years of messing around with HTML and Joomla. I like the simplicity of wordpress. I am finding that having a Facebook page and a twitter link is working quite well to drive more traffic. Although the site has been around for over 10yrs and has a strong following.
