Upsidedirt: Swinley Forest, GoPro Hero3 HD Nova Mix
Thought you guys might appreciate some Swinley action.

I was used some different camera angles to keep it fresh ;D

    When was this?

Beats are a bit heavy for a Saturday afternoon for me. Nice camerawork.

Generally speaking I liked it enough to watch all 7mins. To be honest I thought I might not when it started and I saw how long it was. 🙂

Maybe would have been nice to use the shots looking back at you as lots of jumping, choppy cuts along with the music. No one would have known they weren’t part of the same trail but it could have broken up the long sections of forward facing shots. I would suggest as well that a few of the features, like the table tops you could set the camera up off the bike so it gives you something to cut to when you are getting some air. Depends how bothered you are about making a movie though as it can very quickly break up the flow of a ride stopping to film stuff.

Were you using this mount when shooting back at your face?

Well since you ask. You need to be much more ruthless with the editing – take out all the boring bits – all the start/end of trails stuff should go and although you’ve used a different camera angle – looking at you helmet for 30s is 27 seconds too long 😀

I’ve never ridden swinley (live in a different country) but it looks like you’ve used the same couple of trails over and over. Pick the best bit of each run and edit into one run for each trail. You could edit that down to about 1 min or so and it would look much better (with appropriate music – or none).

The trails look to have some nice berms and jumps scattered about – use the gopro like a handheld to try and capture these – everything looks flat with onboard footage. I made a couple of mounts to attach to trees and the ground for this type of thing.

Here’s one I made last year using the mounts and taking turns holding the camera.

Sorry, didn’t make it to the end even though I turned the sound off.

Here is the mount I used – http://www.gopole.com/product/the-arm
You can just mute it, if your not a fan of the music. I was just playing around with the camera and mounts and threw the video together.

…thanks for the suggestions though will take note for future referance 😉
