Photoshop CS3 keeps saying "does not recognise filetype" when trying to open a RAW file. I have Adobe Bridge open – and that, Finder, and iPhoto can all see a thumbnail of the file. I have searched Adobe help and feel like I've tried everything. Does anyone have any tips or idea what I'm doing wrong?

I don't know! Would that have come with CS3, or do I need to download it?

think you need to download it – it'll then allow you to convert the raw file when opening photoshop – have a google for it, should be available on the Adobe site.

CS3 is 2 versions old. the adobe camera raw update only works with the current CS version at the time of the raw update. so if your camera is new(ish) then you need the latest camera raw update but it will not work with cs3. the way round this is to use the free adobe DNG converter.

the camera raw plugin is in the plugins folder.the version number will be shown in the finder window.
