I'm looking at a 2nd hand estate car and have narrowed it down to these two. Apart from the obvious mpg difference what are the pros and cons of each?

    Thanks

The Mondeo will cause impotence and the Skoda is a Volkswagen which in turn will cause birds to deposit upon your nice new christmas cardigan. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I have a skoda 1.8tsi. Replaced a subaru. Engine is great, boot and interior are huge, parts bin technology from audi/vw and glad I went for the 4×4 version this last month.

    Very happy with purchase.

ive had a passat 1.8t and now got a focus cmax 2.0tdci which is near enough for a comparison!!

i find the diesel engine so much better than the petrol.

yes its load more frugal but its also more flexible due to the torque.

in the passat i really had to rev the nuts off it to get it moving.

the cmax just seems a nicer drive too.

so it would be mondeo diesel all the way for me!!

Mondeo drives nice, you could fit the possessions of a small country in the boot.
