Hi Chaps,
Are the tools needed for the Pro4 the same as the Pro2 Evo? I used to have the proper Hope tools for my Pro2s before switching to DT Swiss... but now back on Pro2 Evos and Pro4s - and it's that time of year again!
Cheers
Ricks
Good question, would also like to know this.. *Bump*
Aren't they the same bearings?
I would think so. Looking in my free hub...
Hope bearing tool = socket set and a hammer.

Fine for front hubs if you get the size right but when pushing a rear bearing into a hub shell and on to an axle at the same time ideally you need to press the inner and outer race equally
There are three different freehubs now and I think that means two different bearing configurations.
I can't for the life of me, remember if I bought pro 4 tools for if the old ones fitted but I know I've changed bearings as that MR17287 next to the pawls seems to take a beating.
If they use the same bearings, then same tools will work. Quick look at the exploded diagrams should tell you.

Still no drawing available on hope site for pro4...

For mini driver and shimano, the freehub bearings are 17287 near the pawls, S17287 by the drop out and 61903 in each end of the hub shell.
The seal tool is different though, I know I've got one of those.
All I see is the XD driver note? No drawing?
Bottom of the page. Second link next to the cog symbol.
Cool, shows up on my work PC, but not phone!.
Great, even more non standard bearings than it's predecessor.....
It's interesting that the outboard bearing in the freehub is stainless but the inboard one isn't. The inboard one is also ABEC5, but still, this is the one I'm killing most often.
It doesn't help hub manufacturers that axles get bigger and cassettes get smaller (10 tooth and even 9) so there's less room for bearings.
However, remember when hubs had 6001 bearings that lasted forever? Well those have the same OD as the MR17287 and have a 12mm bore. If axle manufacturers could tighten up their tollerances, maybe we could do away with the inner axle in hubs like Hope and use the extra room for bearings.
Shouldn't be too tricky to do actually. Those 6001 bearings are 8mm wide so there's ample room in the hub shell and freehub with a little maching. It must be possible.
Can't speak for the XD driver but the standard pro 4 freehub can be done with pro 2 evo tools. You actually need one tool less because they've done away with the oddball bearing size that used to be on the inside of the freehub on the pro 2 evo.
Give them a bell?
